      We have a mechanic here in Central Florida by the name of Larry Perry. He suggests that these cars are starving for oil protection. We have hundred degree days here in central Florida. If you lookup the manuals for other countries they say one can go up to 10w30 oil. I wouldn’t run that in a cold weather climate though. I think Toyota is nuts for recommending 0w8 oil. Just my two cents. This is a cafe goal that Toyota is attempting to meet.

    • @TEAMWRIGHTEOUS
      @TEAMWRIGHTEOUS Před 8 dny

      @@captainnemo6036 I know you can easily run 0w-16 in them. That's what the engine was built for. But at the same time, used oil analysis has shown the 0w-8 has enough protection. Where I think Toyota is going to regret it, is running 0w-8 oil and then telling people to go 10k miles. That is definitely pushing the limits on the oil because the longer it's ran the more it breaks down and gets thinner.

    Bit better MPG, less road noise and smoother ride due to greater side wall tires and smaller wheels, drivers memory seat, rain sensing wipers is why I will get XLE. By the way, the XLE and XSE both are top trims…with different slant on driver experience. XSE is not an exclusive on being called “top trim”. Have great day

    Have HOPE about your gas mileage!! Another CZcams site tried to get the best mileage they could get,... and they ACTUALLY went ABOVE the posted expected mileage!! How was that possible?...Well, he did something that I never heard of, but his philosophy was to drive his XSE using the "Pulse and Glide" mode. Then after 180 miles travel, the MPG calculation that the car computed, and was displayed was about 44 miles per gallon. THEN HE FILLED HIS GAS TANK! When he did so, he found that when he used the actual amount of pumped gas,.. divided into the 180 miles driven,... he ACTUALLY GOT 51 miles per gallon in reality!! SO TRY THAT to find your TRUE mileage! I hope that trick better helps your expected mileage-outlook!! GREAT VIDEO!.. Take care!

I'd buy Camaro, and if I want stupid fast, I'll just go hop on my built Hayabusa that will outrun any car from the factory. These cars also came out 6 months earlier than most cars do for the next model year. While this is the only engine combo you can currently get, nothing is stopping them from putting out something better for 2026 or later. As a general rule, most hybrids have a very small electric battery and can't run in EV mode for long unless you are city driving to regenerate the battery with stop N go traffic. Even in the city, Toyota and Hyundai hybrids tend to still use the engine in city driving to recharge the battery. The Honda Accord, however, has a slightly different hybrid set-up that you might like. Hondas actually run using the Electric Battery 100% up until 62 MPH, and then the Engine steps in for acceleration. These cars have a separate battery that charges the battery that drives the car which can be regenerated 90% during stop N go city traffic. However, the Honda engine needs to be on a times to re-charge the charging battery, especially when you are on the highway. I am a Toyota Camry owner, but wanted to point out this difference in hybrid technology that some may want to check out. The 'Car Nut Guy' knows a ton about all cars, and he explains it very well.

    It's exciting for me to see you discover the Toyota hybrid. You're spot on with the mileage thing. you definitely have to drive slower than you'd like both in acceleration and top speed to get the best fuel economy. When i just got mine it was like a game for me to look at the dash and see something like 65mpg.. and it's definitely possible but the other motorists will probably poison your coffee at Starbucks. Or shank you at a gas station. Also wheels and tires definitely are the difference with the extra mileage on the LE. I've added aftermarket wheels to most of my cars regardless of hybrid and the fuel economy takes a hit everytime. More unsprung weight, less aerodynamics because of the wider tires and sometimes the larger wheels will raise the ride hight a bit.. Which also gives wrist fuel efficiency. Cheers mate. I enjoy your vids

      @@JamaicanMeCrazy see... This is the info I need and want to get out there. Most people think it's a big mystery, or they say it's the weight of the car that makes a difference. So why do the 2-4th trims have the same fuel economy but 1st gets great fuel economy? Then once you start asking people, LE gets better than advertised, and the others can, with soft driving. Then the XSE takes every thing perfect to maybe get the advertised numbers. Toyota should just advertise the XSE as 40MPG. and when people get better then they're happier.

    • @JamaicanMeCrazy

It's more than a gimmick actually it's a straight up lie. It's only good for maybe creeping out of the neighborhood or sneaking home if you don't want anyone to hear.. actually most of the time in the mornings the engine kicks in anyway so not even that. But Toyota also has plug in hybrid models (not for the Camry) like the Prius prime and Rav 4 prime that actually has a usable EV mode. Something like maybe 40 miles and you'll can get up to highway speeds. The engine won't kick in at all. What you think your ev mode does is what the prime cars actually do.
