To the person who straightened out that physician. Bravo! I used to work in the hospital and 1 day I came up on the floor and I saw this doctor laying this nurse out. He said to her" for something important you don't call me before something stupid like this you call me. It was out there in front of everyone and outside the door of the patients . I then left the floor but I came back later and I saw the head nurse giving it to the doctor she had him by the jugular vein .
She let him know " you are never to talk to any of my nurses like that ever again."
Bravo head nurse. Some of those Hospital doctors are the worse. They are mean ,insensitive, bullies and full of themselves. What makes them like that?

They’re like that because they know that most of the time they don’t get any repercussions for their behavior. And also, a lot of them are on a power trip. It’s sad.

I hope I never have to be a patient in a hospital with staff who are fighting with the doctors.

It's sad that this happens because yes - it distracts from patient care.

Don’t ever go to a hospital then. Just because someone is a doctor doesn’t mean that they can belittle and bully someone. Everyone deserves respect, irregardless of their title.

I'm an endoscopy technician. The doctors I deal with are incredibly unprofessional. They scream and swear, belittle. It's not just one of them. There's about three of them who act this way and discriminate against who they don't want to work with. It's very toxic, and management is not doing anything about it.

Absolutely nothing happens to them and you're told to get thicker skin

not if enough people fire them. really, the customers are leaving in droves to get care elsewhere. whitecoats are heavily subsidized, but still, at some point the house of cards is coming down. it's already underway. they're going to need some rhino skin to get over what's about to hit them. I have a arrogant doctor that I’m trying to get him to take me seriously about post concussion syndrome at the least just check me out for it. He is demeaning to me and acts like I’m a hypochondriac and I’ve only seen him twice. He doesn’t even know me. I get so frustrated when I get upset like that I cry because I feel like I’m running into a wall. I’m trying to help myself through him because that’s the only choice I have. They act like because they have the degree that we haven’t lived in our bodies, our whole life and don’t know the difference. I don’t know what else to do. When I lived in a small town small town, doctors didn’t treat you like that because their livelihood depended strictly on word-of-mouth now I live in a large city and it’s like they just don’t care because their pockets are being lined by all the other people and someone’s word-of-mouth makes no difference to them. What do you do?

I would practice this script and use it the next time you see him: “I’m not sure you realize this/are aware. Sometimes you come across as abrasive/intimidating/
condescending.” And then provide a specific example. In your case, you could say "I'm not sure you realize this, but sometimes you come across as dismissive and demeaning. When I voice my medical concerns, you brush it off and say I'm just a hypochondriac. Whether you are right or not, I would appreciate it if you could check me out for post-concussion syndrome." If that doesn't work, I suggest seeing a new Doctor.
