Another reupload from the channel that CZcams cancelled, thankyou to Zdeněk. Two kinda funny stories about this one. First up, this was my first take of the vocals in full as one go - I hadn't really thought it was going to be the one, but it actually worked out BETTER than the two takes I did afterwards. It's funny how when "it's right, it's right" compared to absolute perfection. I get hung up on little details, but all in all I feel this take was the most faithful to the original singing, and also, my best performance. Some of this upper mixed range can be challenging for me, considering I'm also comfortable in more of a Type O Negative type baritone range naturally. This took serious work and dedication, I've just gotta be honest. Secondly, my favourite "CZcams coach" (actually, he's the REAL deal as a real coach and real singer - not just CZcams) Daniel Formica and I first got in touch through the original of this video, as it's not only my favourite Cry of Love song (maybe even my favourite song from the 90's!!!!), he actually auditioned for the band after Kelly Holland left the band in the mid 90's. Imagine two kinda random aspects of your life meeting in such a profound way. I knew there was a reason why "Brother" was such an important album for me when it came out in high school, and I knew when I first saw one of Danny's videos that he was going to be an important person and singer in my life - I just didn't realise they were connected ha. RIP Kelly Holland. (and Audley Freed, I'm still waiting for your call 20 years ago after I met you while touring with The Black Crowes................. )
Great cover of Kelly. You're pushing it (timing wise) . Sing it a hair behind the beat, not in front or even right on it. Knew him well. Your tone and everything else is really great. Thanks for keeping it alive 1
Love your channel! I've learned more from you than any other online Vocal coach just by your words, and detailed example. Actual Vocal demonstrations. You're band is kickass also. I practice singing along with Wildflowers wither. I am the most pessimistic Baritone in California, and now there's hope lol! Thank you, Kegan! I never leave comments....
@@FoundationVocalStudio there is not enough vocal cord closure to do as I always do, when I go high it doesnt have any quality, or blow apart and doesnt connect, I've heard that it can be a nodule
I highly doubt it's something that's just going to occur magically - you've either strained your voice, or, you're doing something different. What sound are you practicing? Try a "puffy cheeks" sound with the tongue high in the mouth into head voice without pushing @@LifeEnjoyer4251
Im glad this was saved. I watched it a few times in the past and always enjoyed it.
Awesome!! Cry of Love was one of the best bands of all time. Audley Freed on guitar was amazing!!

Wish that you was in Mississippi we would rock!

Thanks. Yeah, he really had the Paul Rodgers thing going on being way behind the beat - I'm a pale comparison to either. Best - K

That's great news! Thankyou for the kind words - and glad you're digging the 'Communion songs, I'm mid way through album number III at the moment! K
@@FoundationVocalStudio Awesome, looking forward to hearing it 🤘🏻
Can you cover the song "This I Love"?
You mean the Axl Rose project song? I'd rather do Nightrain if I was to do a GNR song. Best - K
It would be great to hear a GNR song from you@@FoundationVocalStudio
hey, I think I have injuried my voice, how do I proceed? Should I do some specific vocal exercise, or just shut my mouth and stay in silence?
What happened/what were you doing/what's going on?
