- My van is old, scruffy and full of reused and upcycled parts, that's why there isn't another Mercedes Sprinter based camper like it in the world.

Never mind comments about bad music or those who question your methods. I think this build is looking great so far. The only snarky thing I could think to say was there's so much stop-motion video that I half expected to hear Peter Gabriel's voice at times. Seriously, though, that's a neat feature that I don't see in any other YT channels but yours. Greetings from Arizona, USA.
I love the stop animation - it gives the impression that the van does all the work for you. 😅
There's a lot of content similar to this but yours has got to be in the top 1%. The story telling, pacing, stop motion aspects, the myriad of skills on display and the philosophy of upcycling / reuse all combine to make a truly amazing series that nobody else can emulate.
Thank you for your hard work! These video strike a perfect balance of relaxing, entertaining informative and inspiring.
10/10 for originality! I've not seen this stop motion approach to van build vids... I can only admire and appreciate the amount of effort and time that must add - well done sir!
stop motion welding was probably the hardest to do
The stop motion and attention to detail are superb 🤙
"last time was quite a while ago" indeed it was and we all be waiting. Another 20 mins of absolute pleasure.🤩
I don't know how much work is involved in the making of the stop motion bits bit they are very enjoyable to watch.
I was so damn giddy to so Soup pop on my notifications. The van is looking great, and I can't wait to see the next chapter in this build.
Your stop motion film making is brilliant - the welding shots were spectacular!!!
My OCD satisfaction moment when you primed the floor before putting the subfloor 😂 I was like “YESSSSSSS” 😂
I watch a lot of these vanlife videos, and they all sort of run together. But I loved this one. The stop action animation is great, and super creative.
As someone who's done a lot of flooring: That looked like a right proper job!
It’s a little gappy around the first few boards, but it really gives a feeling of quality. Tricky job I found
It’s amazing to have the Invisible Man as your workmate. 😂 And he’s a skilled welder at that.😂
Wow.Such dedication.!!!The Upper Windows are Superb...As if they were a standard factory fitting....Wonderful.Thanks for the film.!! Well Done ...Pat yourself on your back.!!!!!
I awoke this morning with a burning desire to be astonished and amazed. Fortunately, one of your videos came along.
Please keep safe and put the angle grinder guard back on and wear a full face shield. Love your content George, we don't want to see you get hurt!
I love the stop motion, it's like watching 'vision on' again😊
Came for the build, subscribed for the motion. That funk jam that was playing while you were removing the panels 9:36 was excessively funky. You didn’t have to go that hard. I had to watch that part twice.
😂 If you can't take the funk...
"A slight mishap indoors..." Well... that's one way of putting it!
Fantastic job mate! Been waiting for this upload want to build one of these myself last 5 years but Lockdowns aswell as a devastating flood like you precented thus far! STILL haven't managed to sorted house yet 3&1/2 years later, as insurance screwed me over/didnt pay out! So living in shite and vicariously watching your build for now! Lol 🤦🏻
Great job giving me some unique ideas and inspiration I haven't seen on other builds! Your work is top-notch & on a budget, which is my idea!
Looking forward to the next one!
Cheers from London 👍
I really enjoy how you compile your videos, very enjoyable. Thanks
That stop motion is DOPE!…🔥🔥🔥 I can only imagine how much additional work it tooK. Stepping up the game to another level!…👍👍👍
Thank you!
Ultimate video! No bright light while welding, making it great to follow. Well done! Never seen something like it.
Your stop motion is very satisfying. Ray Harryhausen would be proud!
I really hope you acoustically insulate the panels! It makes an enormous difference when on the road. I'm surprised you didn't insulate or acoustically insulate the floor. Looking forward to seeing this on the road next summer! If I see it I'll give ya a big flash from my defender camper
Relax Johnny 5
Will keep my eye out ;) decided against the acoustic underly I have in the wings, will be plenty of other insulation and dampening elsewhere though.
@@soupclassicmotoringI sound deadened the wheel arches and the road noise reduced a lot
Put a lotta heavy black adhesive (they call it "heavy foam" despite being nothing like foam in Germany) pieces all over my Sprintler-panels when re-building the insides, and it made the thing as quiet as a luxury car. Wood sub-floor laid on thin Armaflex stripes, no through bolts, and wood-frames carrying dampened dibond panels for sides and ceiling were mounted with rubber-metal blocks. That way no body-sounds were put through to the inside, and rattling cutlery was the only annoying sound that was disturbing the 2.9 litre turbo-diesel experience when under way.🦻👂😄
Had to sell it recently however due to raging irrational idiots spreading diesel-phobia in my nook of the woods.
@@manfredschmalbach9023can you elaborate on the people who made you sell the diesel?
Simply the best guy at producing and editing a video on CZcams. He's not bad with his hands at everything else he sets out to do either, working on cars or converting a van into a day camper.
Your videos are just great love them , always gives me a smile when new one pops up , thank you
Nice floor! Absolutely necessary for the rest of the build.
And always worth the wait, quality over quantity.
Wish I could give more than one like for these videos. Loving them all great work. Thanks for posting. 👍👍
Really starting to come together there, George! I see the thermal insulation & sound dampening materials there at the end to go in 'soon'. They'll be an essential!
Did you change your handle!? Yeah I had acoustic underlay for the floor but decided against it, the floor is 40mm thick already. There’ll be loads of insulation and deadening material everywhere else… and bulkheads ;)
@@soupclassicmotoring Ah, yes. That would be the Great CZcams Namechange! I didn't so much change it, as not tell them to not change it... (Or change it back.)
Don't want to loose _too_ much height with the good floor!
Bro you are one patient man love your creativity not only in the build but the making of your video using stop motion no one has done that at least haven’t seen it anyone else use it. Look forward to the next video and the final product
Those overhead stop-motion are awesome 😎 keep it up, nice build!
The work it all takes is already staggering, but your stop motion must make it even more work. It does make it extremely satisfying to watch, though! You are raising the bar for other content creators 😉
its why I can't upload every week, or even fortnight.... so nice to look at, but no so much for business 🤷🏻♂️
Love the added lightness 😅 in all those bars :-)
Fantastic job and I like the colours too.
Greetings from Sweden 😀
Wow, haven’t seen you since the Range Rover rebuild. Still doing the stop motion. You must have the patience of several saints.
Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see this one finished.
WTF is this production value man, the stop motion is crazy (with welding even?). Thats way too much quality for a timelaps, I love it.
Love your work! Especially editing. Fabulous. Cheers from Indiana.
Non seulement vous travaillez très très bien, mais en plus vos montages vidéos sont digne des plus grands réalisateurs
Dommage que j’ai peu de bases et de compréhension en anglais
☺️👌
Bravo
Thank you for your kind words :) (English isn't the best language)
I've heard of invisible mending but invisible welder no ! Nice job as usual.
Love the stop frame! It’s like a ghost is magically doing all the work for you lol
Cracking job George well done think the van will be a great family bus
John
You can use the frame from the seat and make an adjustable table. Very convenient for the long journeys ;)
It's sad there is only one "like" button but this, was what the You-of-the-tube meant to show the masses! Great work as usual.
So happy that you’re back. Missed the quality content that you always deliver. Have a nice weekend.
Class idea with the passenger seat tracks.. You've helped me out something fierce with that one.. Cheers good sir (Nice touch with the stop motion btw..)
This is awesome , this just tickles the dad fix it spots 😂 , now back fixing my garage disposal
I like your Land Rover corner windows you installed in this van.
I like the stop-motion animation. Good Job and a nice build.
Thanks a million :)
Hey the stop motion was really cool, haven’t seen it before thanks for the idea 👍✊
Ah, the boy's been busy! The camper is shaping up nicely, the videography a visual treat as always, nice one George! But flooding the house just so you could scavenge some board seems a bit extreme though, 😁. Those seats and windows were a great find, they look to be a nice fit. Neat work reinforcing the panels and then removing the supports, got some decent light coming in now. Looking forward to the next instalment. 😎👍
George! Great to see you still at it, that's going to be a lovely get-away machine. Great appreciation for your artistic sensibilities. Cheers
So nice that you gave the price, thank you...also for the video! Beautiful product!
Far out. What an incredible video & conversion. Well done.
That’s some welding there Patrick 👍🏻
The Engineering and Measuring on all those holes in the floor for the channel Brilliant!
As ever Your Stop Motion is worthy of Awards and boy have I tried to get you nominated. Seeing this will push me to Phone bash and email again..
Thoroughly enjoyed your stop animation style of a van build
Fantastic video George. Great to see you back. It was well worth the wait. Loved the soundtrack too.
I just found your channel and am absolutely blown away by your relaxing editing style. Amazing to watch you work!
This series and channel is a joy to tag along to, I'm glad I found it. Mostly because I just bought the exact same van, and I'm at the exact same stage. this feels like a race..
The stop motion is pure perfection.
Awesome editing, thank you for all your hard work
Excellent videographer. Nice van build as well
I love this series ! The Lotus too :) Thanks for the hard work and excellent production.
Much awaited, much appreciated, excellent work as always from you.. Much awaited, much appreciated, excellent work as always from you..
something about that nail tool taking 2 swings of the hammer is oddly satisfying
Just love how you film/edit this. Where you remove the person and the tools and just show the pieces coming together.
Also love the concept of up cycling and reusing as much as possible. No doubt it takes extra time, effort and skill. But love the "sows ear into a purse" concept.
Can't wait to see how this develops!
you guy have hit the sweet spot of tiny home on wheel design ❤
Love the stop motion… you made a really enjoyable video… even more so 😂
I love your time lapse work
One of the cleverest videos I have ever seen.
Awesome! I really like the style of your video and I am very curious to see next episode(s)!
Just happy you’re alive! Was getting worried! Great video as always.
Invisible welder man, I like it. It should be that easy.
Really enjoyed your video editing, totally professional & humorous too! Just come across your channel, will follow you from now on.
Always look forward to your videos George! Loved this one, top work on the floor!
I cannot tell you how much I enjoy your video posts! Just fantastic! I know it is a ton of work so truly thank you for doing all of this! A fan from Nova Scotia Canada.
What a job George!!!!😮
Remarkable presentation as usual. I can imagine the effort that goes into producing such interesting videos
I love how you videoed this, very cool and a fresh approach!
Yes, you are on board again... 🎉 great work, and vídeo...
I greatly appreciate the time and effort you have put into all the stopmotion bits. That takes a lot of patience and dedication
Love the animation filming.
Jack of all trades this guy never ceases to amaze me 💪😎
Fam your editing is top notch. Cheers from the 🇺🇸
Another great video, good work with both the video work and the van
Glad to see you back.
Really great animated looking 👀 effects! I know there is a tech word for it but I know nothing of editing I just enjoy and appreciate the extra work that goes into the making. I’m watching in hopes to learn more knowledge of building out vans and motor homes. Especially electrical and solar installations!! Thank you for your video and sharing your build ideas and creativity!!!!
It's been a while, but this feels like tons of progress. The flooring came out aces! Cheers from Michigan!
Pauls a top bloke. Helped me out many a time. 🙏
Really great to see the van coming along as it is, looking forward to the next episode. 👍
I'm quite jealous of the supply of parts. I need some odd parts for my Peugeot Expert project - for example, gearbox mounting bracket to replace the rotten-through one, but everyone I've contacted either hasn't replied, or only has lights/mirrors/engines/gearboxes etc on the shelf and the rest of the van has gone for scrap.
your editing is a joy to watch! subscribed
A channel called Urchfab uploaded an almost identical video today coincidentally. He fully insulated his van for both sound (drumming) and heat - i imagine it’d make a world of difference.
Only just watched your last update on Patreon and here you are again delivering the goods, George.
I can see now why your ‘cockpit’ trim looks so good finding those replacement facia panels etc in Paul’s yard a massive ‘score’.. my LT will just get a ‘deep clean’ and some plastic spray paint methinks.. your original panels looked as bad as mine are.. work vans don’t get much love if any..
Looking forward to the next instalment keep moving forwards and ‘Good Luck’.
You have epic talents!
Grreat to see you back George and it is really starting to seem like a worthwhile conversion. 2 times I genuinely shuddered though. Cutting out that beam... and then laying the timber floor (which I still carry emotional scars from my only attempt at laying) However, I am sure many will point out you have created a very large speaker box so maybe some sound proofing\isolation?
Pretty sure that was what he was looking at in the closing. Looked like a felt or rockwool type material that is used for that.
I found the flooring really difficult too, and if I’m honest I made a bit of a mess of it, but it’ll lend itself to the look I’m going for. The beams had me in a proper sweat too, I was sure the whole thing was going to move on me, but Paul the Sprinter expert assured me it wouldn’t, and he was right. Made me feel like I kinda wasted my time with the extra structure in the end
I am the king of over-design, but it helps me sleep better. Actually your wood floor should help with torsional rigidity as well. Not quite Esprit level...but what is?
You are alive!!! Finally, keep up the good work.
Top class content George as usual. Always waited on with anticipation but cognisant of life’s trails and tribulations. Hope all is well.
Loving watching this coming together.
