- Merlon, Tim, Jim and Kierin set out to test the jeeps abilities on Three Amigos trail that Merlon created about 16 years ago. They run into some trouble along the trail and the winch comes in handy in the vehicles recovery. You don't want to miss this!
The instant giggling coming from the rolled Jeep was great 😂 So glad no one was injured.
Merlin , your builds are unlike anything you see nowadays on the Tube . To see a guy who takes as much meticulous devotion to their builds while having the knowledge of a NASA tech. is uncommon. Love all your builds and your principles ( “ re-use , re-build , lower budget , and No-handouts” ) I hope your channel surpasses all your expectations !!
Glad everyone ok after the rollover. Kudos to your wife for being 10 steps ahead during the triage and subsequent recovery.
Jim laughing as they were upside down was cracking me up! 😂
When we rewatch the footage we were all cracking up
The lost camera shots of the tires rolling by were perfect. Glad everyone was OK after that roll, and it's amazing the glass didn't Crack.
Merlin you are the F’in man! Not only are you a genius when it comes to building cars! You know how to fix shit on the fly! I love it! Keep up the good work Champ!💯👊🏽👊🏽✌🏾💨
Merlin I could whatch your videos all night long you mite say that's weird but your knowledge round a vehicle is incredible we learn by watching people like you
come on folks look at the quality of build this guy has. He needs a few hundred thousand subscribers
Used to love going to Rusty’s for breakfast!!!! Glad everyone was ok.
I love the giggle when your friend Tim is upside down. I was almost as entertained as he was. Would love a rig like that. Wonder how many times I would turn it upside down ? Value for money for sure !! Magnificent !!!! You guys are Rockstars ✌️
You have the best show on u-tube, love all your cars and trucks. Reminds me of the good old days when I was young, I'm in my mid 80's now. Thank you.😶🌫👍🙏
Amazing Jeep, so glad everyone was able to go home to their families.
Merlin. at least you know that the jeep and the winch work like you wanted. :) Glad everyone was okay.
I think you have accomplished the impossible, Building the perfect YJ Wrangler Congratulations Sir
That might be the nicest jeep I've ever seen. Cheers Man!
Like Paul’s your ideas and brilliance blows my mind lol.
such a perfect example of why we need proper roll over protection so no one gets hurt, vehicles can be repaired, humans not so easy. so glad you guys are ok
I love your videos I wish the language was softer as my kids watched the c10 videos with your nephew and got hooked, I turned down the sound but please remember the things you build we want our kids to get involved in cars of all kinds too. I've got a 1928 ford roadster pickup that was a race car that I've saved, so I've got the wheels turning for them too. This was a great video with fiends having a great day. I follow the FAB RATS too, love the content. thanks ahead of time, Jim
Your Jeep is a beast Merlin! Seeing your winch in action was great! So glad everyone was okay and you could get the Jeep right-side up and running again.
Watching your friend step over the rope gave me the willies.
Merlin would be a great guy to go wheelin with. This is a perfect example of how good of a mechanic he is. Figured out the power problem and got the jeep running again. His jeep is also bad ass. 🤩👍🏻👍🏻
That roll cage is the real MVP! That's why we have them!
i love that tim was laughing after that roll over
I agree on the manual. Personally I have never liked all of the issues with automatics. Just one more thing to worry about overheating, no way to pull/push start, and today’s automatics are loaded with computers to fail. I love the chuckling from man in his upside down Jeep, no one hurt, and being able to drive it out.
I love everything you do Merlin all your builds and all the details you do are awesome the Jeep is another great build and I did find you from your cousin Paul y’all are very talented great people and that’s why I watch and subscribed.
After watching Paul and Matt, it is refreshing to hear some real language.
Im so glad I found Matt's Off Road recovery on CZcams. Which led me to Fab Rats. Which led me to Merlin's Garage. I look for ideas on my own Jeeps. I love Merlin the most. Merlin has a work ethic and experience unrivaled by the rest of the team. I mean that with respect! I love people who are good teachers and without you guys teaching us, we would be lost and starting from scratch. Love you Merlin. Thanks for being no-nonsense but also fun and funny at the same time!
Seconded! I am really impressed with Merlin’s knowledge of Berkeley Jet Drives.
Merlin, all I can say is you are one of the slickest Scissor Bill's that I have ever seen. You are slicker than a greased hog on ice. 😅
Everyone and all vehicles made it home so it was a good day wheelin'.
Old video but funny hearing about the heads on the jeep! Lingenfelter’s son plays in the adult league at my ice rink! Super nice family, David (the son) is a nice guy!
We wheeled in those hills when we lived in Havasu from 03 to 06. Love your channel
your badass ,luv ur videos!!!!your entire clan is blessed with mad skills!!!!
Merlin When I first saw you when Paul came to your place I thought to myself he looks familiar and just as fast I said that's Merlin that I saw on the Welder Up show. You were the guy there that came in to make things run. You are very talented and a great builder.
Thanks for the tour, awesome rides
Thank you for the wonderful knowledge. Hope all who are building one of these listened to experience.
Good job Merlin
Your Chanel is Real Old School. Reminds me of my self.
Thank you.
Eric
the best part was that they were upside down and you can hear both of them laughing great
Glad everyone was ok after the rollover. Fortunately Merlin's Off Road Recovery was close by. By the way Merlin, I LOVE your dog.
Glad Jim and Tim were okay, cool trail and worth the view when you got to the top!
Merlin, one of the good guys from the Wrecker Games, Casey LaDelle, has had his roll back truck in the shop for about two months. The shop has not been able to figure out what is wrong with his Cummins engine. I've suggested to him that he contact you because you are the Cummins guy and may be able to diagnose his problems. You are the best Cummins mechanic I have ever seen and he could sure use the expertise.
Anyway if the two of you get together and you can help he will be grateful.
That's about it for today.
I couldn't tell if it was laughing at first but that was the best response. 😂😂
I’d love to see a more detailed look into that build🙏. I have an ‘88 yj I’m wanting to build up.
Thank you for sharing 🙏
Stay tuned because I’m building another YG and I’m gonna do a very good video it’s for a friend and it will be a budget build LS swap and I do a bunch of cool Axle stuff that you do a stock equipment
@@MerlinsOldSchoolGarage 🙏🙏
I also have a stock 6.0 LS and 4l80 from my 2001 Silverado. Any pointers there would be greatly appreciated. I rewatched this video a couple times and you mentioned it’s a stroked 6.0 and now a 6.2. Please Teach me wise one 🙏🙏🙏
Merlin you and you’re cousin Paul are top notch people.
probably my favorite video on youtube. thanks for the journey
Thanks for sharing your Jeep it's pretty awesome I like hearing everything you say about it Great video
Awesome day. All okay. Some battle scars but all in all you guys had fun and it was enjoyable to watch
My grandparents had a house in the high desert near 29 Palms, and learned to absolutely hate chollas. I am amazed the ones you were climbing around didn't cause any more issues than they did. I am happy the Jeep was the only one who had an issue, it could have been a lot worse. 3 Amigos looks like a fun one. Keep up the good work, Paul has some cool kin.
That winch set up is really cool!
The first time you lost the camera I was glad you weren't attached to it, the second time, thought it was the camera and it was your mate turning over, glad their ok and the rig isn't too bad, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Sick! Thanks Merl and team!
Top notch content guys. Thx for sharing. Look forward to more.
Many of the challenge trucks here use similar winch configurations, running the rope through tubing to prevent any snagging between support ‘loops’ and nylon inserts in the bumpers on exit/entry.
Cool Jeep Merlin… ❤️🇷🇴
Is there any lubrication like silicone added in the tube to reduce friction?
Living my life. Thank you.
You guys are on my mechanics extrordinare list
Sweet setup. Glad to have found your channel sir. You got some cool stuff going on. I appreciate you
Great work
Great episode
You certainly have some cool stuff Merlin
That was a real adventure! Glad everyone is ok! Good job 👌
I dig it!!! Very nice build.
Another great and exciting video!
Hi Merlin, I’m over here from Fab Rats. I’m glad I found your channel thanks to Paul. I’m a subscriber now. Steve
welcome 🙏
Love the real life action! Keep up the great work!
Nice Jeep , awesome trail fix !
Jeep does what you designed it for, love the winch mods and position.
That winch rigging is next-level Merlin. Nice build!
Great build, love the ideas and and how you put it all together
Awesome Video Merlin and the Gang!!
That was a fun video, really enjoyed the trail havoc you all had to overcome 👌
Sweet ride Merlin for sure , well thought out 👍. Glad no one was hurt and you got the Jeep going again. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Good job on the recovery.
Trail diagnostics, i love it!
WOW what an adventure . Lucky you were there to help. Stay as safe as you can .
Love this video and great idea winch set up!!! Wow at the white Jeep rolled!!!
Great video, glad to see your winch works good with the angles you put in.
Wheeeeee! You're really havin fun when you roll and can giggle about it. Glad everyone was OK. Awesome job getting it rollin again Merlin. The little lady is a heck of a trail boss too.
Drive train is impressive. Thanks for sharing.
This rig is awesome! Nice build, I haven't seen the remote winch setup like that before that is a great idea. Shitty deal about the roll over, happy everyone was ok
Keeps a straight on pull for rewind at the winch. All the friction points would be a problem if it is used frequently.
All in a jeep's day's work.
100% behind you with manual over auto great info thank you from the UK
Not my first Merlin Video, I have liked every video he's been in Fabrats or other, but this was the first one I looked for and watched. Love it! He's now one of the five I look for daily. (Fabrats, Matt's, MOSG, HeavyDSparks, and Off The Ranch.) Love IT!!!
great troubleshooting! nice!
Making those good memories
Thx 4 stopping and picking me up📸
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😊
Your jeep is clean, awesome set up
Badass rig dude. Keep doin what you do.
She's perrty Merlin, that's for sure. You got talent my man.. 🌺
Clean and capable, nice Jeep!
So glad this was just a rollover and no humans were injured in the filming of this video. One good reason you should not crawl alone.
The remote winch is an idea I've been thinking about for years to gain that front angle clearance. This idea needs to be explored and developed more. It's cool to see someone actually build one.
Love your Jeep Mervin.
The winch location is pretty interesting. 👍
That’s the coolest idea 💡 I’ve ever seen. Glad everyone was ok 👍
Really cool jeep.. awesome video
Glad he's ok
Jeep sounds awesome Merlin 👌
Keep the content coming. You can have have a channel as big as Fab RATS. Thankfully no one was hurt in the rollover and only minor damage.
You are such a smart man it seems you always know the right trick fir the situation ,what awesome jeep i love it
Good ya had a master mechanic on the trail.
Roby's gonna love it👍
Nice YJ. Nice recovery I can't believe the windshield didn't Crack.
