- Merlin gets a call to rescue a side by side that is broke and stuck out in "the narrows". This trail is not for the wide... but is more for the wise! This side by side was wedged in and even his buddies couldn't save him, hopefully Merlin can! They might have to take the go around and this trip could take all day long. Hopefully they can make it up and out the short cut, a treacherous hill climb!

Our Wendy’s is 25 miles away, but living in the sticks is better than living in the brick, at least for me. Love your channel and abilities !!! Keep it up !!!
Only place you got true freedom. Now a days
Kind of like a choo choo train with muliple engines in the front. 🚂🚂🚂
Great job Merlin!! Jimmy did a fine job with the camera too!! Not dropping it when he went down... sign of a true veteran!! That poor guy was definitely in "between a rock and a hard place"! LOL!!
Hello Lon, how are you doing😊
15 miles to the south and 13 miles to the north is where the two Wendy's are located to us. All of the other "fast food" joints are situated around each of them. The best cheeseburgers are a local convenience store three tenths of a mile from the house. Hand made and tasty. They have some rather large and plump crispy breaded chicken tenders as well. Food always plays a big part in going out off the pavement.
Definitely the dark horse of the off road recovery gang. All that engineering knowledge is spilling over to working stuff out when you get to the desert.
Hello Trevor, how are you doing😊
Great Recovery 👍Your Jeep is Pretty Cool never Seen it in real ACTION
Jimmy has has Got to Quit Falling
Eventually it starts hurting( Not LOL )
Have a Great Day 👍
God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
14 miles from Wendy's both ways from the house only one town has a restaurant and great job with the recovering and God bless from GA and stay safe
Merlin. It was great to meet you and the misses at Rory’s shop at EJS. My pop has been gone (Rest In Peace) for many years. You remind me of him so much. Every evening after work he and all the other gents of the alley we lived on opened up their garages and while we kids rodes our bikes all the men met in any one of the garages. Usually if the issue of the day was automotive or mechanical or welding and so one, they were all in my dad’s garage getting things fixed. Thanks for bringing back those memories. I learned a lot in there!!!
That rescue had a pucker factor of at least 10, if not more! Good job Merlin, I'm glad you did not break something on your rig in the process!
I feel like I have seen this fella get rescued by Matt a couple times. EIther way. I love seeing him out there. Never too old to go play. That was a pro tow for sure.
Watching them climb up that hill chain-link style smooth as a greased pig was beautiful.
one of those times when a deadly highlift jack would come in handy
You gots to weld a mount for that new shiny belt on mater
Jimmy is a good man always there for you when you need help. I'm glad Jimmy knows how to spot and isn't afraid to get dirty fixing stuff. Thank you Jimmy for being there for Merlin.
Yes he is! ❤❤❤
Hey Merlin, I use to call what you guys did, "pullin' locomotive style" to get someone up a steep incline or even out of deep mud. You all did great.
Or train pulling
Hello Steve, how are you doing😊
@@MiaJones-xr2vv If you are not fishing here with your bran new profile then I might be wrong.
@@frank-t6857 what are you talking about?
This channel just keeps getting better and better… better footage and camera work… I love Merlin’s old school garage
Smart!!!! Cutting the ties & allowing the axles to spin inside the boots was ingenious! I'm guessing they tend to fail at the joints, like a fusible link? Take it you don't want to beef them up much & risk damaging the diffs?
Another Fine rescue. So Wise , Thank You
Good recovery. Made some smart choices on that one and made it look easy. Jimmy down! Hope he got his burger!
Jimmy always gets his burger! 😂😂😂😂
In 1972 we came back from Okinawa, I was ten , and my dad had 2 Hondas 50 sent back and we still use them today , now the grandkids are riding them , thanks pop , ,, old stuff is great just ask my wife 😂 god bless and have a great day
You showed what can be done with just a little help from your friends.
Oh wow Jimmy and Merlin had tough rescue getting this side by side out of the canyon and thanks to the other side by sides they gotem out!
Good morning my brothers and sisters of the trails, have a great day, we loveya.
Everybody needs a jetski Jimmy. What a good team
Hello Damon, how are you doing😊
And that's how to do it! Extra muscle for the hill made it look easy.
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
MERLIN, We love how you think out of the box and problem solve. Was a privilege and a joy for me to meet you all at WRECKER GAMES. Jimmy too❤
Matt has his victory pie, Merlin and Jimmy have their victory Wendy’s burger! 😀👍👌
Merlin thanks again for rescue and helping us out , nobody local wanted take on challenges pull up out that wash on dead pull man you made look easy . Had roll down wrecker games called it early Merlin for the win ! You and Jimmy are hecka team .
Ky Keith
Merlin and a Jimmy are always down for a challenge! ❤❤❤❤❤
Nice to see older guys on the trail and not sitting on the sofa!
That is the truth, (I am an Old guy) LOL
Merlin really is a magician, with a yankum. Keep up the great work Merlin.
Dang Marilyn, that really steep -hill, intimidated me!! I didn’t think you would have any trouble with it per se. But I just wasn’t so sure about you told me that off-road toy behind you.
And then, getting up the hill, all the way without, spinning and losing your traction. And then, getting in some kind of trouble, some kind of a jackpot that you don’t need.
You know, as well as I do Marlin, there are good jackpots and there is bad jackpots.
What really saved the day was when you supervised getting everybody in-tandem so everyone could pull him out.
By the way, that guy that owns the side-by-side toy, that you rescued, I have seen him over in Sand Hollow and I have seen him in videos on Matt’s channel.
I just don’t remember if Matt rescued him or not. But I’ve seen him talking with Matt Wayback in an area in, And around, Sand Hollow.
That's what you call, stuck between a rock and a hard place 😂
Kool, can't wait to get some Merlin merch !!!
Another successful recovery from the wizard!
One day I was watching an old video of Weldurup. I saw this guy and thought “is that Merlin” and then he spoke. Yep, that’s Merlin. Thanks for the content.
Team work makes that dream work baby! That was a well coordinated hill climb, off without a hitch 👌
Our Wendy's burnt down so we are the same lol. Blimps is my favorite but saddly they quit making the signature vinegar sause...😢. Their prices have gotten crazy!
That looked like a pretty cool trip.
Hello Merlen, we were in Havasu on the last weekend of March and came by to see you but yall weren't home .
I know that area quite well. That steep trail was created about four years ago. It was a God send because it allowed for a great loop. About ten years ago a Ford truck, or Bronco got wedged in that slot and was there for a few years before a big storm forced it through. It is now down by the Narrows. I have photos back home.
Great stuff sir Merlin well done enjoy your burger Jimmy
Hey Merlin that was awesome 🙏🏻❤️👍✌️💪🏻
I bet you made the memory of that outting one of the go-to stories they will tell later. You gathered everyone to conquer that wicked hill in such an epic form!
Let that be a lesson..'Daisy-chains' can lead you down a rocky road.../Fun video Merlin. Thanks for the tour and rescue.
...and a frosty??? LOL
Hey ... you oughta make a SHORT of just that part in the Games where you were doing the Dead Pull, and your Wrecker was jumping up and down. That never gets old!
i love driving the narrows. Problem is my YJ was too long to make some of the corners and then I had to back out a long way to find a spot wide enough to turn around.
MERLIN please do not change. you're old school and a great person and down to earth. the others were also and I do not have to mention their name but now they just show off their money and content went down hill..
One wheel drive side by side. Nice job Merlin. God bless
Almost 3,000 views, but only 460 odd likes?
C’mon guys, play nicely 😢
Love this channel Merlin ❤🇷🇴
Great job Merlin. I enjoyed watching you at the Wrecker Games. Congratulations on First Place. Well deserved.
You guys would make great train engineers !
3 locomotive off-roaders pulling the near-dead side-by-side. 👍
That looked like some rough country but pretty
They should call that place "Fossil Creek" nothing but old tarts down in there!! Lol
old school rules !!
Great Job Merlin and Jimmy...Jimmy You Sir are part Billygoat. climbing up that hill. Great Job Guys .And Video..
Good job Maryland.
I'm surprised your vehicle was it diesel. Hamburgers going to taste good after that Victory burgers.
25 miles east the other ones about 20 miles Southeast.
Last time I had Wendy burgers was probably back in 19 76.
Will see you at the Easter Jeep Safari.👍🏽🤙🏾✋🏽🤘🏾🤙🏾😊😎.
You fellas get to have to much fun!
Wow. What a recovery. Cheers Brother.
Have fun Merlin!!!
Great recovery.
Easy-Peasy... Here I was all excited to see you try to slay the dragon!
Good job boys!... Good Luck in MOAB!
You and Jimmy have got to be the most dynamic duo in the havasu. And I absolutely love it!
Morning Merlin!!
Amazing what KNOWLEDGE combined with SKILL can do!!!
You truly ARE a wizard at getting folks out of a PINCH (point)!!
And the "little engine that could" haul up that steep slippery grade was amazing!!!
You coordinated all participants effortlessly, and Jimmy's camera skills proved priceless once again! (even with a 'Jimmy-Down', the camera kept rolling!!)
Safe travels, friends❤️❤️
Stay FROSTY...
Keep your powder dry and your head on a swivel...

I'm not bragging, but maybe I am. There are 5 Wendy's within 5 miles of my house! But! I have to drive 2 hours to get any trails near me. So I guess you win! Great job!
Well done team work.
Awesome job by Merlin and Jimmy ! I'm watching from East Enterprise, Indiana.
Merlin I never have to watch a whole episode to realize I like it
Wow ! He was just a lil bit wedged in there !! But not a problem for that wicked cool Jeep !
The daisy chain up that big hill was a smooth idea ! Saved some ware an tare on your rig !
Thanks for sharing your adventures and wisdom with everyone Sir ✌️❤️🙏
8:13 Maybe stack rocks in front of that rear driver's side tire so that it comes up instead of getting wedged against the rock.
Excellent recovery Merlin (aka....Mr Champion ) 🤘
Ian Russell from full custom garage should be contacting you about a Cummins motor. Check out his builds if you haven't heard of him.
Nice. Those guys were still having fun after getting stuck and breaking hard parts. Just the price of admission. Great job on the recovery and video.
All it needed was just a little yankum to pop him out... 😁😎🤟
Hello Manuel, how are you doing😊
Thanks for sharing Merlin. You made it look easy someday after I retire I want to go to Utah to meet all of you guys Matt fabrats Roy, maybe add another tow truck in Olympics ray from Oregon
Merlin and Jimny are unstoppable!
They don’t know the meaning of the word
They don’t know the meaning of the word
Nice recovery. Hats off to Jetski Jimmy for the good spotting & camera work.
Mr Merlin used his brain to keep the strain to a minimum . 😅😅😅😊
Now, when is someone going to build a recovery wrecker on a "small chassis", smaller wheelbase, for such work. I enjoy watching the big wreckers, but, let's be realistic. The big ones are extremely restricted.
How do you keep from breaking the axle housing at the differential welds when tugging on them like that? I know they are not meant to take heavy loads. Wouldn't you be better off using a short strap (tree saver) between the leaf spring mounts to hook to?
Matt’s off road recovery, does it all the time, when pulling out cars.
2:54 looks like a canyon you might see on an old western. Beautiful landscape !!
Great call on the ‘wagon train’ up that hill👍👍easy as pie, well done!
I believe the best thing for the trails anyplace is a super power Now and that is COMMON SENSE, that's why I like Merlin And he likes Powerwagons with Cummins engines. I had a 1944 troop carrier such as his with a Cat engine after I got sick of the 230ci flathead..
Cool rescue Merlin see y'all there
Their ya go Jimmy take one for the team love the show merlin you should put that woman meme I ain't got time for that
"
Nice job"
Another job done expertly well done hope you and Jimmy enjoyed your burgers cheers for now
Merlin, Rory would be so proud. Great job. Too bad that gay didn't understand to put one tire UP the edge to make the gap wider.
Watching that train march up those marbles was cool. That looked awfully sketchy when you were headed down it. Good video, thanks!
Enjoy the variety of solid content on this channel. As an old YJ owner wondering if there is a prior video where all the mods to that machine are described. Quite the purposeful rig! Great video. Super enjoyable.
Cool recovery - that's tight! Thanks Merlin and Jimmy
Hello Merlin, nice builds. The fabrats speed boat seemed done in record time.Later Brother.
Good rescue Merlon, your very good at figuring out the course of action that works. Thanks for sharing and stay safe 👍
Will work for food💯👍
Knowledge plus experience equals less painful recoveries. Great teamwork.
Gotta love a YJ. More commonly known as a side by side recovery vehicle.
Merlin, you need to add some recovery points to your jeep.
Nice work, Merlin. Glad you can save us UTV drivers every once in a while. 😂
I like the fact you run an ASU plate instead of the U of A crap
