Thanks for tuning in everyone! Make sure to hit that subscribe button if you wanna see some more disc golf action!
Smash it twice to really make sure you are subscribed!
Thanks for the great content! You might wanna check the meter amounts on top left corner as there are quite many 105m holes =)
Big Jerm looking good from the practice round curse.... LMAO
Jeremy reproduced the exact putt Ulibarri banged in on hole 3 during their Jomez practice round, insane.
He also had the exact same putt on that new par4 where the basket is at the top of a hill, the putt through the 2 V-shaped trees
It was crazy
Damn the 2m hate. Love how real Luke keeps it. So professional while being willing to speak his mind unapologetically at the same time.
Players who throw bombers like Kevin will definitely put them at a disadvantage with the 2m rule. IMO players just needs to adapt to the rules.
Not sure why there is any problem with the rule. If you throw it up in a tree you deserve a stroke IMO.
@@MuddyPuttersDG You commented before watching hole 8. How many good shots other than putts have you thrown that didn't clear 6 feet? That's a stupid ceiling to put on a legal landing zone, since almost every real shot goes over 10 feet.
@@MuddyPuttersDG if would be halfway justifiable if it was like a 20 foot rule especially in California where the short oak trees let you just throw thumbers or other "cheater" shots over everything. but the vast majority of even regular golf shots get well above 2 meters especially on long holes. is it a better strategy for players to just throw layups to keep it below the trees instead of throwing actual shots? no. therefore, stupid rule especially at a course like this. the only way to avoid it is literally just to throw rollers at everything, which is absurd. if it's gonna exist, it should be raised by several meters and also only applied to certain courses and even certain holes if they're that insistent on not wanting you to throw "over the top" shots.
@jpss90 @Tyler
I get why it's a good rule, but I agree with Luke's point for consistency across all national tours. Yes this helps make Dela "special", however it is already a special course without having this one rule separate California disc golf from the rest. Not sure of other states enforce the 2m rule tbh.
Love seeing jerm putting together a hot round.
Kevin and Luke are top tier on disc golf commentary 🔥 not afraid to criticize , right level of humor , no dead space 🔥
Kevin on Hole 11-“side arm is not recommended!” Jerm and proctor absolutely park it 🤣
except proctor threw a backhand... I think you meant jake... lol
there's an exception if you are literally the greatest sidearm thrower of all time
Yessir Jake! I know a lot of people don’t know his background, but he comes from such a great family. Jake and his father are such nice people, his father works his butt off also as he is a teacher for a highschool, yet coached at the rival highschool and really made me feel like family when I played for him. I wish all the best for Jake! Jake works and then heads straight to the course to practice, nothing but the best fit my guy!
I saw that he was called 'Jason' on the official PDGA page. Is 'Jake' simply a nic?
@@Triton_Secure his name is actually Jake, I’m not sure why it’s Jason
@@kalebwilson4318 weird... because surely he would have created his own PDGA membership entry... I have no idea, that's why I asked.
Somebody's car got dented on that top of the world throw from Jake! haha
Thank you for the coverage GK Pro !!! And Kev and Luke for commentary !
Thanks GK Pro! I love that you're uploading these early enough that I can watch before my Saturday round!
I love this style of course to watch. Solid play from this card. Looking forward to watching the B12. Thanks GK.
Really enjoying that gimbal work! Brings such an immersive perspective. Great work GK PRO
That putt by Jerm was beautiful. No wobble at all from 80+
Great coverage, GK has stepped it up so much in the last year. Great work from Luke and KJ as always.
Look at y'all working hard thru the night! Love it
8:06 jerm channeling his inner uli
If anything 2 meter rule ought to applied on more open course where there are very obvious fairways. On a wooded course (I'm counting Dela) if you miss the fairway you're already being punished.
Exactly! When a shit ton of lush trees are the main obstacle on root and stump filled hard-pack, low ceiling fairways as well as there being cliffs off the sides, 2 meter rule should be the last violation to have enforced. I mean at DeLa it is literally possible to get a 2 meter violation off of a skip or roller that hits a root and jumps and how lame would that be! Such a dumb rule.
How many shots do you make that don't go over 6 feet high? Do you deserve a penalty every time you hit a tree and get an unlucky kick?
2 meter rule, because discgolf needs to be a bit more random than it already is
It's the same as a bunker.. sometimes you skip out, sometimes you don't. These dense oak trees grab discs, you need to decide if you go under, over, or want to play a risk reward. It's the California way. It should totally be in effect at De La, and courses like De La.
@@chislicer5167 To be fair, I also hate the fantasy bunkers that Cali throws on courses just to make things harder, since they can't design their courses well around the existing landscape.
@@chislicer5167 I get why it exists and on some holes it does make sense (even if I think a mandatory preventing high line would be better). But put it in effect only on the holes where it makes sense if that is the case, not every hole in the entire state
I get so hyped by the Disc Barn plug.
Love how Jerm's caddy makes him look like a normal sized human
Jerm made that 85' putt on 3 from the same spot as Paul in the practice round.. Paul showed him the way too play that hole
So pumped to see Kev on lead card tomorrow!!
Good to see drew picking up some confidence on the greens. Rounding out his game nicely.
Jerm’s little floaty boy is from his practice round with Uli, but it looks great today.
Did they change mics? I have the same headphones and they have so much more bass somehow...
Likely some form of compression or post sound editing
If you live in California like I do, the two-meter rule is the least of your problems. But I agree it should be abolished.
I love how Luke is letting them have it for the asinine 2 meter rule, as if California doesnt have enough issues, they gotta involve disc golf in it as well.
Big and Jake we dialing in putts. Great card overall. This is not an easy course
Thanks for the coverage. Wondering how Jerm found a caddie bigger than himself? :)
Maybe it's his brother, haha.
Big Jerm pulling inspiration from Uli on that 80 footer on hole 3
that shot of jerm at the end lol
Isn't this the front 12 not 9? ;) Great stuff, as always!
Wow Germ on fire 🔥
30:24 I would never have guessed that was Calvin in the background if the hair didn't give it away.
Big Jerm in his practice round: "I feel like I don't use my thumber enough, but at the same time I feel like I throw it more than anyone else."
Go watch the Jomez round - Jerm has been de-throned as the Thumber King!
@@ajbrown5247 I saw that. Was a ton of fun to watch, and great seeing an AM Champ on a card like that
To everyone who wants to know why 2m is not a clear rule, watch hole 8. He didn't throw a "crazy spike," he played the perfect line and got robbed.
Rootin for you Jerm!
Jerm out here dressed like a ice cream sandwhich lol
Was that Barela caddying for Gibson?
Big Jerm throwing fireballs
Koling's caddie making Big Jerm look like just Jerm
Dudes huge!
Maybe just me but the commentator mics are off. KJ doesn’t sound like KJ. The lows are a bit distorted.
34k views but not even 1000 likes? Drop a like too! I LOVE GK PRO
I saw Thomas!!!!
Ricky on Runningit with Sexton podcast said he’s been helping Jake with his putt.
this is some rememerable footage
Agree with Luke about the 2m rule. Seems arbitrary and unnecessarily punitive.
Totally agree!
@@judasblewit Totally disagree. Come to De La. You gotta decide if you go over or under the grabby oaks. Hole 4 (well, in this layout, hole 8) is the perfect example.
@@chislicer5167 Even the Jomez commentary team was laughing at how random some of the holes feel. This is not great course design, hence the extra rules to make the course work.
Not true - Nevada has the 2 meter rule also :)
Ohio has the two meter rule. I think pdga rules should be if you can reach up or jump up and get your disc then your fine. Cant get your disc you should get a penalty stroke.
Dows anyone know the reasoning behind the 2 meter rule? I don't understand why it should exist.
Let me Google that for you.
But you’re not supposed to use trees as a stopper. Would you rather play it where it lies?
Big Jerm making Uli putts
What's up with the mics?
Big jerk learned that put on hole 3 from ULI in the practice round! Good put big man
Big Germ has an even bigger caddie.
Who's that on little Jerms bag?
Thumber is always a risky play but Jerm usually throws it pretty well.
Why do you say that? Thumbers are very predictable
@@spockhozzer7207 I should say it's always a risky play on that course between the trees (2 m rule) and slopes.
18:15 how many nos? ;]
Barela is caddying but not playing? Why?
smashed his hand during a follow-through in a practice round and had to withdraw
Big Jerm Neapolitan
Is AB caddying for Drew?
Looks like it.
Thought that was him.
Has there been a petition to eliminate the option to use the 2 meter rule? It seems like the vast majority of people want it gone. Seems like maybe the top pros could get it done by boycotting the big California tournaments until they at least agree to not use it at those events. After that I think the rule would go.
Seems a bit dramatic, and would probably work! I think there's a lot of political will outside of just the pros (which we never see). Admin types and tournament directors.
Tournament directors love the 2m rule because they’re all old dudes with no spike hyzer power.
I thought AB was gonna be on this card?
He injured his hand.
Hand injury. He’s on the bag for Drew Gibson
On your side, Luke. The two meter rule is horrible. Leave it to Cali to look down on the rest of the sport. 😉
Question: WTF is there a 2 meter rule in effect ???? AND, why is it only in California??? Answer me that PDGA
Great coverage GK Pro 👍👍👍
It's based on the tournament director, but I think it's a crutch for poor course design.
F9 or F12?
Ctrl-alt-delete
I agree, 2 meter rule should go
I really like what happened at 23:36 😂
Two meter rule works unless you are throwing sloppy crash shots. We need to be challenged
but it's not used anywhere else... that's the problem.
@@Triton_Secure It's just another type of OB.
Exactly! The oak trees at De La force you to make a decision to go under or over or face the risk of a penalty. It's golf at its finest. Absolutely makes sense at De La and many Nor Cal courses.
@@kw5643 but that's true ONLY in California. Nowhere else in the world uses it. It's time the rules were the same everywhere.
@@Triton_Secure From what I understand there are a couple of other states that use it. Imo it's not that punitive and it often makes holes better.
Big Jerm got a bogey!
Let me try to understand the 2 meter hate. You throw your disc over a bunch of really dense trees, or into a bunch of trees and your disc is unrecoverable. No problem? You throw it into a lake. Unrecoverable. No penalty?
You stand on top of the lake for your shot, and then I see how these are the same situation. Go ahead, I'd love some footage.
Dang, Luke’s pretty butthurt by the 2 meter rule.
i got a 2 on 5 as in 1 first time playing there. hit the ground and slid under the log and parked that shit. lhbh business.
You’re wrong Luke, if you can’t play your lie, it’s a penalty stroke.
Your lie is beneath the disc. Have you never marked a disc with a mini and then stood in the spot beneath where the disc was before?
People are TRIPPING on the 2 meter. It absolutely should be enforced at courses like De La. We play dense grabby oak trees in Nor Cal, if they let go of your disc, good for you.. if not.. well, that's a stroke. It's the same if you hit a golf green that's considered a bunker and don't skip out. You shouldn't be able to throw freely into trees and not face any risk. It's plain and simple. I'm not saying wide open courses where branches aren't grabby should play it, but when the trees are a certain height, the 2 meter forces you to make a decision to go under or over the branches. That's a good element to add to the hole. People need to stop tripping. Welcome to California, the birth place of disc golf.
It's a shame you Cali guys can't design courses, so you have to add bunkers and more rules to make it work instead of working with the landscape and keeping the game clean.
@@seymourglass26 De La is the epitome of working with the landscape to create amazing disc golf. I'm not sure you realize the deep, rich history of DG in California. Steady Ed invented this sport and built some incredible courses, many folks here have carried the legacy on. De La is truly one of the most iconic courses in the game,. Every hole is unique and challenging, the way Stead Ed loved it to be.
Sacramento local... but claims California? Huh? Lol
Flat earth supporters Luke and Kevin? The canyon at De La = proof ✓ 😉
Poor guys up all night doing this commentary?
These commentators use the phrase "Oh My Gosh" 47 times in this video, in case anybody is wondering.
they should use the 2 meter every where, it’s not like they want to be stuck in a tree, why should someone be rewarded for being stuck 50ft up but it’s 2 ft from the basket. Just kind of corny. I’m not sure why pros against it when the game seems to be getting easier anyways. The newer kids can bomb.
Could we wine more about 2 meters great rule unless you plan on climbing trees and playing as it lies.
You must have drank 2 bottles of wine if you can't spell whine. Your lie is below where your disc came to rest. Why does it change at just over 6 feet? If you can stand there, you can throw legally in every other situation.
The 2 meter rule sucks
