Soul singer Charles Bradley performs a song from his album Changes, and speaks with Star Music Critic Ben Rayner for another session of the Newsroom Concert Series.
Just found out about this man a few weeks ago. So sad that he died almost exactly a year after this was posted, but I'm glad he finally got some proper records made and recognition after so many years of struggle.
Rip sir. Ur the king of music pal!! U might not be here, but if ur looking down, know that ur the king of music in my eyes. Im 34 n i rock ur stuff at least 2 3 times a day every day. N i love the story of ur grandma. I know u had many more great stories too. What I wouldnt give to sit down with u n hear them all. Or have u sing me a song. No equiptment or special effects. It still would be so powerful!! R.i.p. If u r looking down, know that u made a difference n a 34 year olds life. No friends in this big old world. Listening to u speak of ur struggles n hard work u endured to achieve ur dream, gives me hope n inspiration. U kept me from suicide several times this last few months. I replay ur song n always listen to grandmas story, then try n imagine what other priceless wisdom n advice she would give to try n help me make sense of my life. Help me find a direction to lead me to the path n can't seem to find the courage to figure out on my own. I hope ur at peace with grandma. If u too get bored up there feel free to check in on me from time to time... Perhaps ill see u sooner then later n we can sit down for a chat- I promise not to ask for ur autograph. Thought I would end it with a little joke there...smile on n wear that crown friend..
My son (32!!) just put me on to Charles Bradley....How I could have missed the “Screaming Eagle of Soul” all these years...Well, You’d Think I Dont Know.... (But 💙I 🎼 KNOW!!) SOOO COOOL to find..better late than never!! Reminds me so much of Otis Redding, James Brown, Johnny Taylor.....and that GREAT STAX SOUND of “back in the day!!” Oooooooh .. Uhhhhhhh!! HIT IT!
Extremly amazing perfomance, I like it alot more then the studio version, a very good guitar player and mr. bradley is obviously all you need for the best music in the world RIP. charles

Wow read my mind in an unfortunate time of how can I put it into words cause there r none. But u found me and u rocked that #!$: into a great awesome tune I can sing to myself until but I cant find the words to say it myself.
I gave up hope on modern music. Never another Otis reading. Never another James brown… in our lifetime. We have Charles Bradley. He is more than worthy to be in the same description. Sound of soul
The guitarist kills it. He's great at reading Charles and keeping the tunes in sync
Found out about this guy too late, what an amazing singer.
danteisme it's never too late. His music is forever.
I agree, i should clarify. I mean it's too late for me to ever see him in person. I bet seeing him live was just a powerful experience.
DB8 Dante me too .. I heard him on September 24th 2017.. asked Siri how old he was.. he passed the day before .. he was and is incredible 🙏🏼✊🏼
You took the words from me, agree
Same here his music and voice are just pure emotion so raw but i found his music and i listen now
