Great review. I am awaiting delivery of my Q8 plus and IF19 . Thankyou for your suggestion about upgrading to Molicel P45B. I will take your advice and save my £30. I appreciate the research you put in, so I don't have to.
I love mine! I go camping for a week, sometimes two weeks, and used to have to swap out batteries every other day or so. This one lasts all week, leaving it on in candlelight mode as a nightlight overnights too. Granted I rarely use Turbo mode longer than say 10 minutes of so, but I am so impressed with its performance!
@@adamgam1ng45 - Yes, the spec’s say 2.5 hours at 16,000 lumens. I’ve never noticed a step down UNLESS the battery gets low. But I don’t keep it on turbo for a long time as it gets very hot fast. At home I’ve left it in low candlelight mode for months, and found it STILL GOING when I needed it. The cons are its heavy, flood beam only, and unless you have a good memory, you can forget some of the more complicated settings.

If you have a small charger, think bigger. This has 3x 21700 batteries, I buy extras instead as I like to save my charger for my phone/tablet and laptop.
Im not gonna lie but sofirn just did me dirty. I had issues with the light and sent them a message. They asked for a video i sent that. Then i messaged them asking if i still need to show a video of tested batterys since I got the green light to blink if that was alright. And i just got blocked it said i had to follow chinease laws and sht. Idk ill chock it up as a loss and stay away from them now
I was always waiting for you finally lighting up the far end of the lake to see the maximum lighted distance, but you just didn't. Poor dog, has to withstand your flashlight at 3m.
I have the plus coming in today. Will be the first flashlight I've purchased with the UI. Doing a little research on the UI before it comes in. Edit: Yeah the batteries that come with these flashlights are always over rated. I hate that they do that. Also it can be dangerous especially with the unprotected batteries. Yeah they might be good enough for the light they came with, but if someone tried to use them in another device that draws high amps, it could be bad.

Always enjoy watching your reviews. WOnderfully relaxed tone and nice location by the lake. This is a nice light but not the best in its category because that output drops like a rock after a few seconds. Try the Convoy 3x21b with 70.3 cree led's. UI can be a bit wonky but its a proper tool with much higher sustained lumens than the Q8plus.

When I heard there was the Q8 Plus, I was hoping you´d make a review about it to help with a purchasing decision. But then there was a discount and I got the Q8 Plus for 110€ with the stronger Sofirn batteries (5000mAh). Regular price is 150€, which is a bit too much imo. I also have the Q8 Pro, and the SP36 Pro as a backup. The Q8 pro has been by far the best flashlight I ever had, but the Q8 Plus tops it. The amount of light it throws around is monstrous. I do a lot of urbexing and move in dark and confined spaces, and I much prefer a torch which floods my surroundings with light instead of generating a focused beam. In fact I prefer less light spread wider than more light in a focused beam. Being able to see everything at once albeit dimly lit gives me better orientation. The only thing which surprised me was how hot the Q8 Plus can get, and I´m not talking about the turbo mode - far from it! I use maybe 5%-25% of what this torch can put out, and it can get quite warm should I use medium brightness for a while. On the other end even minimum brightness can be of help, particularly when I suspect someone else is there and I want to orient myself without bringing unwanted attention to myself. Did I understand this correctly: Right out of the box, the torch is in advanced UI settings and turbo mode can be activated? Or is it the other way around? Finally, a word of criticism, if I may: I really like and appreciate your reviews because they´re the best reviews of flashlights on YT, imo, in this case however the beam comparison between the Q8 Plus and the Q8 Pro is at times confusing, and I found myself wondering which flashlight is throwing the beam at the given situation. Still, please keep these reviews coming and rest assured I´ll be among those watching them!
Out of the box the UI is simple, but Sofirn have tweaked the simple UI allowing full power - a nice touch because you can stick with the simple UI and not loose out :) ---- (sorry for the late reply!)
The extra output, better runtimes, yes probably worth the extra - have you considered ordering direct from Sofirn - that where all mine come from and never had a problem and pretty quick delivery (7 to 10 days)

The Q8 plus more brighter than the Q8 pro 4x LED XHP50.2 11000 lumen. The Q8 plus 6x LED HXP50B 16,000 lumen flood. can up over 20,000 lumen if use 21700 molicel p45B & p42a or any high drain batteries
Kalau nak yg pure terang, tarik q8 plus terus, mode medium dia 2000 lumen boleh pakai lama dekat2 10 jam...tpi ada yg kata q8 pro thrower dia lagi elok
Your saying the higher the mAh the higher the amps? I always heard it was the opposite, that its a trade off, if you want higher amps youll have to settle for lower capacisty Tbh i dont know anything about batteries myself, just what ive read around
Not for long, because the flashlight will get really2 hot...but i heard it can be set for how long we want but i dunno how to do it even i already have one😅
Hi, i have the q8 plus and it does not seem to have full output in basic mode and is definately brighter in advanced. Do i need to change the ceiling level to get full power in basic?
You should have full power in simple and advanced - Unscrew the tailcap, press and hold the power button (keep pressing), rescrew the tailcap (whilst still depressing the power button) - the light will flash and it has reset itself - try it then....
@flashlightsuk1422 i already did this after i messed up the floor level trying to fix the above but its still the same, the upper floor in basic is the same as in advanced but it only gets brighter with the double click in advanced, its ok though i prefer advanced mode anyway. It seems there are different floor levels for stepped and continuous i had assumed they were the same and lost moonlight mode hence the reset

Do you notice the lights power decreasing rapidly over time on turbo? and if so, how long does it take until you notice a change in the lights power?

Looks very good. At the moment on Amazon the Plus is about £40 more than the Pro. I'm wondering if it's worth that much more than the Pro?
