It's mega bright. I had MP's check-me-out on a trail on a military base, wondering what the aurora was in the valley. Looked pretty cool as it was snowing. The MP's were very courteous, asking what brand the torch was. My oldest Sofirn is 3 years, and I use it daily. I use brand-name batteries. Don't trust in-house batteries.
That's a crazy light. You know, a little light was escaping from the light tube in your lumen measuring rig. You could see the tube lite up when you went into turbo. I think that probably means the output was a little higher than the readout. I bet it did actually get up to 20,000 lumen with the Samsung.
Hello, I have a question about Q8 Plus, after setting the temperature to 70 degrees (max), the flashlight in the highest mode (non-turbo) has just over 5,000 Lumens according to my calculations, and when I restore the flashlight to factory settings, in the same mode it has about 10,000 lumens, in your Q8 Plus flashlight, after setting it to 70 degrees, does the amount of lumens in individual modes drop, in the case of the highest one, to about 5000 lumens? because when it comes to turbo mode, the power is as it should be

Usually with these kinda lights With this kind of Led setup You usually get the visible petal shape corona around the beam which i don't like.. But in this light you hardly see them And you get the massive output👍

Thank you my friend I appreciate your comment 🙏 Honestly I would just use the batteries it came with, when you are dealing with over 16k lumens to 19k lumens you can not tell the difference IMHO, but the high performance batteries will heat up your light faster than the stock batteries, it's definitely fun to run the hp batteries but in real world use it's not necessary IMHO.

Having to return my Q8 plus. Its only been a few days. In the little time I ran it I noticed after putting the batteries on the charger one was always a lot lower in voltage. Then a while ago I ran it on turbo for like a almost a minute and the light flickered and went out. Noticed I could hear and feel a battery was loose. Opened it and one of the battery springs collapsed. Guess that one battery was taking alot of the amp draw and the spring got so hot it lost tension. Not sure if I want another one. Looking around for 21700 flashlights now cause I had just gotten some batteries in. Has anyone heard of this happening in these or any other multiple battery soda can flashlights?
i finally got mine. Holy crap is it heavy and well built. I am impressed. I am so happy I didn't waste my money. It is almost dark so now i can go out and try it :) It took 20 days to come from aliexpress. I figured it was worth a shot seeing i paid 80 something dollars for it. I am pretty sure i bought it after watching this video. Do you have a video on how to do that calibration? Is it brighter if you do that?

Yes I can put something together for you, IMHO the sp36pro is a flood light it does have a good hot spot though but overall a floody light in my opinion.

For thrower I would recommend convoy L21B and flood I would recommend sofirn q8 plus but q8 plus won't hold 16000lm for long but will hold around 4000lm pretty good
Isn't double click from off just put you into high mode though? You'd have to double click again while it's on to go into turbo I thought. Now, double click and hold on 2nd click from off would be turbo though. At least that's what it is on mine.

I have my collections, the sofirn sp36 pro, sofirn q8 plus, wurkkos ts32 and sofirn C8L im very satisfied with their performance not that expensive just like the other brands ( if i can save money i will buy either the imalent or acebeam) they too expensive brands in my country 😅
Like my flashlights to be simple and Easy to use, have to Sofirn SC33, not a fan of the tail switch. Which takes multiple presses takes to get it in a particular mode, there are better designs.

The most powerful flashlight I've ever owned was the Maglite with the 3 D-size batteries. I am totally new to these powerful types of flashlights and am very interested in learning correct operation of it. What do I need to do first, and In your opinion, what EXACTLY are the best batteries I should use in this flashlight? Specific numbers, please. Also, you spoke of "setting it up". What do I need to do to properly set it up? As I said, I know nothing about these flashlights, but I am very technologically adept, and am a quick study. I am sorry if these questions sound ludicrous, but please help a newbie out. I studied long and hard before I chose this particular light. I hope I made the right choice. Thank you my friend I appreciate your comment 🙏 Well I will start off by saying you are in for a real treat coming from a old school mag light to a q8 plus. If you ordered it with batteries you will be fine as sofirn batteries are good IMHO but if you want extra lumens I would suggest Samsung 40T or molicel p42a, sofirn batteries with the q8 plus you will get 16k lumens 40t 19k and molicel 19k. When you first get your light from off 10h to put it in advanced mode so you have all your options available. I recommend you play with it for a while, get used to it and if you still want to configure it I'll definitely be glad to help you out.

Congrats on your new light my friend, I would charge it fully you do not have to charge it overnight just until it is full. It is good to go if you needed it for anything but the batteries are probably low and won't last long without a charge.
@@smotheredchrome The batteries were totally dead upon receipt. The light would only come on when it's on the charger and at a very low output. It's been charging now for4.5 hours and still blinking blue. I just now took it off the charger and it does not work at all. Is this a malfunctioning unit, or just leave it overnight? What do you think? Also, I do not have a stand alone charger and am charging it on the USB port on the flashlight itself. You said in the video you don't recommend charging like that? Why not?
I got Q8 plus and Molicel P42A too. However, I would suggest you use the battery that Sofirn made or the flood less than 15A. Actually, I bought 2 Ec06 but one of them is broken after the third times I used Molicel P42. That one burnt 3 Leds and the other 3 is half dead (It's dimer than my Workkus DL10R[4000LM]). This thing is really bright but its temperature is insanely hot too. Whatever, you'd better watch out while using powerful battery..
@@joyfulgore I didn't and I even don't know how to do that. Since I fully charged my Molicel P42A, the voltage should be close to 4.2V. When my led burnt, it didn't reach very high temperature at that moment but I admit that I might over drive it in the past. Whatever, I still strongly recommend this gear since it's quite a bargain. I just want to say that if you want to have the most balanced using experience, the storaged type 21700 is a good choice. Even though you will get much brighter with powerful battery, the max lumen won't last long since the protective chip operate very soon (my experience is less than 1 min). That's why I don't put P42A in my second Q8 Plus.. don't want to take that risk anymore.
@@Y1Toube i ended up buying one and it does heat up quickly, but this is due to it’s sheer output in lumens and power. Personally, I just lower the brightness once it gets too hot to handle and haven’t had any problems so far. If you are really skeptical then you can calibrate the max temp in settings (idk how to do this but just read the anduril 2 manual).
That's definitely a impressive flashlight. I'm wanting to get a monster light myself. I watched your video on the Wurkkos TS32 as well and I'm wondering which one you prefer? My main use for such a light will be navigating through the woods and signaling aliens. LOL The alien thing was mostly a joke but last October we witnessed something incredible and I did blaze it with my flashlight. On my honor we saw a legitimate UFO close up coming from another dimension or through some kind of porthole. It's was fascinating and scary at the same time. It was definitely not any human technology. We aren't even close to being able to create something that can do what this craft did. Anyway I can't make up my mind between these two lights. I'm kinda leaning towards the Wurkkos but I don't know enough to be able to tell if one is higher quality or better in some way. And if those aliens come back I'll have something bright to flash at them instead of my wimpy little light. 😳 LOL

The Q8 Pro is better because it floods your surroundings with light, which makes orientation easier. The Q8 Plus seems to be similar, but a lot brighter and longer lasting. I´d love to have it. BTW: Amazon in Germany says it comes with 4 batteries, which must be a mistake because in the video only three batteries are being used. Or are there different batteries available of which 4 fit inside the Q8 Plus?

No my friend it's not possible, at 30,000lm your asking each xhp50.2 to pull 5,000lm a piece that right there should let you know it's a myth, I have a lot of single and multiple xhp50.2 and it's just not possible, 3500lm max for xhp50.2. I'm sure there is some more experienced friends on this channel would agree, appreciate you my friend 👍

Could you do a comparison between this light and the SP36 Pro or similar light? I love my SP36 Pro and I'm just curious how much brighter this guy is. Obviously more lumens, but the SP36 does seem to be more of a spotlight instead of a flood light, would you agree?

IMHO the sp36pro is a flood light it does have a good hot spot though but overall a floody light in my opinion.

lol i got the 5000mAh with 50 amp rating or what ever lol but yeah and my light came in the ariganl white box and i got mine with batteries as well lol but yeah wierd we got different battieries but thats good for me that i got the 5000mAh instead of the 4000mAh lol but yeah im deffinitly going to change the setting in my light so thank you for showing me how to do so and dont worry ill never blame you for anything i did lol well god bless and ill see ypu in the next one brother i love this light im so happy with it

For thrower I would recommend convoy L21B and flood I would recommend sofirn q8 plus but q8 plus won't hold 16000lm for long but will hold around 4000lm pretty good

Isn't double click from off just put you into high mode though? You'd have to double click again while it's on to go into turbo I thought. Now, double click and hold on 2nd click from off would be turbo though. At least that's what it is on mine.

I believe double click from off will bring you to turbo unless you have the lumintop anduril 2 than you have to ramp to high than double click for turbo.

Hello. You told me to invest in the top of the line 21700's for my Sofirn Q8 Plus a little while ago, and I was wondering if I can use the Samsung 50E 21700 5000mAh 9.8A batteries? I know you told me to go with the 40T's or the Molicel batteries, but these are 5000mAh, and the others are 4000mAh. Would these 50E batteries be harmful to my flashlight. Thank you so much.

I have my collections, the sofirn sp36 pro, sofirn q8 plus, wurkkos ts32 and sofirn C8L im very satisfied with their performance not that expensive just like the other brands ( if i can save money i will buy either the imalent or acebeam) they too expensive brands in my country 😅

Like my flashlights to be simple and Easy to use, have to Sofirn SC33, not a fan of the tail switch. Which takes multiple presses takes to get it in a particular mode, there are better designs.

Yes it will definitely heat up on the higher modes, it's almost 20k lumens coming from a small soda can size light.

Hello. I've always wanted a really superior flashlight, so I ordered one of the Q8 Plus at the 6500K frequency, and am waiting for it to arrive. The most powerful flashlight I've ever owned was the Maglite with the 3 D-size batteries. I am totally new to these powerful types of flashlights and am very interested in learning correct operation of it. What do I need to do first, and In your opinion, what EXACTLY are the best batteries I should use in this flashlight? Specific numbers, please. Also, you spoke of "setting it up". What do I need to do to properly set it up? As I said, I know nothing about these flashlights, but I am very technologically adept, and am a quick study. I am sorry if these questions sound ludicrous, but please help a newbie out. I studied long and hard before I chose this particular light. I hope I made the right choice. I wanted to have daylight available to me in my pocket, and was completely impressed with this light. Thank you for your answers and patience.

Well I will start off by saying you are in for a real treat coming from a old school mag light to a q8 plus. If you ordered it with batteries you will be fine as sofirn batteries are good IMHO but if you want extra lumens I would suggest Samsung 40T or molicel p42a, sofirn batteries with the q8 plus you will get 16k lumens 40t 19k and molicel 19k. When you first get your light from off 10h to put it in advanced mode so you have all your options available. I recommend you play with it for a while, get used to it and if you still want to configure it I'll definitely be glad to help you out.

Congrats on your new light my friend, I would charge it fully you do not have to charge it overnight just until it is full. It is good to go if you needed it for anything but the batteries are probably low and won't last long without a charge.
@@smotheredchrome The batteries were totally dead upon receipt. The light would only come on when it's on the charger and at a very low output. It's been charging now for4.5 hours and still blinking blue. I just now took it off the charger and it does not work at all. Is this a malfunctioning unit, or just leave it overnight? What do you think? Also, I do not have a stand alone charger and am charging it on the USB port on the flashlight itself. You said in the video you don't recommend charging like that? Why not?
Only if you do the voltage calibration I don't recommend charging from the light. Are you getting a flashing blue and solid green light when charging?
I got Q8 plus and Molicel P42A too. However, I would suggest you use the battery that Sofirn made or the flood less than 15A. Actually, I bought 2 Ec06 but one of them is broken after the third times I used Molicel P42. That one burnt 3 Leds and the other 3 is half dead (It's dimer than my Workkus DL10R[4000LM]). This thing is really bright but its temperature is insanely hot too. Whatever, you'd better watch out while using powerful battery..

@@joyfulgore I didn't and I even don't know how to do that. Since I fully charged my Molicel P42A, the voltage should be close to 4.2V. When my led burnt, it didn't reach very high temperature at that moment but I admit that I might over drive it in the past. Whatever, I still strongly recommend this gear since it's quite a bargain. I just want to say that if you want to have the most balanced using experience, the storaged type 21700 is a good choice. Even though you will get much brighter with powerful battery, the max lumen won't last long since the protective chip operate very soon (my experience is less than 1 min). That's why I don't put P42A in my second Q8 Plus.. don't want to take that risk anymore.

@@Y1Toube i ended up buying one and it does heat up quickly, but this is due to it’s sheer output in lumens and power. Personally, I just lower the brightness once it gets too hot to handle and haven’t had any problems so far. If you are really skeptical then you can calibrate the max temp in settings (idk how to do this but just read the anduril 2 manual).

My main use for such a light will be navigating through the woods and signaling aliens. LOL
The alien thing was mostly a joke but last October we witnessed something incredible and I did blaze it with my flashlight. On my honor we saw a legitimate UFO close up coming from another dimension or through some kind of porthole. It's was fascinating and scary at the same time. It was definitely not any human technology. We aren't even close to being able to create something that can do what this craft did.
Anyway I can't make up my mind between these two lights. I'm kinda leaning towards the Wurkkos but I don't know enough to be able to tell if one is higher quality or better in some way.
And if those aliens come back I'll have something bright to flash at them instead of my wimpy little light. 😳 LOL

Any light can explode using lithium batteries, I own a lot of lights and never had one explode or do any horrific damage and I do a lot of extensive testing, the worst I have had was leaking batteries and I just dispose of them properly.

For urbexing I use the Sofirn SP36 Pro and Q8 Pro. The Q8 Pro is better because it floods your surroundings with light, which makes orientation easier.
The Q8 Plus seems to be similar, but a lot brighter and longer lasting. I´d love to have it.
BTW: Amazon in Germany says it comes with 4 batteries, which must be a mistake because in the video only three batteries are being used. Or are there different batteries available of which 4 fit inside the Q8 Plus?

50.3 has more throw and less flood, mbe sofirn are looking to make the best budget dedicated flood light (sort of like with acebeam’s X75 with 50.2s and 50.3s)
Did you want the 45°C? that's what 15 clicks is, it starts at 30 so you need 25 clicks for 55°C.
I believe the factory settings is 55c for the q8 plus

No my friend it's not possible, at 30,000lm your asking each xhp50.2 to pull 5,000lm a piece that right there should let you know it's a myth, I have a lot of single and multiple xhp50.2 and it's just not possible, 3500lm max for xhp50.2. bro i fucked my light up allready for some reason i was trying to go threw the UI and now i cant get it to work it will jus turn on moon light unless i double click then it goes to full brighness but thats it i cant get it to ramp up or down and i go threw the UI again and set it up but it still wont work bro im dont know what the hell im doing lol i hope i can figure out what wrong with it if not atleast i can still use full brightneiess lol
I believe you 5 clicked it, just unscrew the head and disconnect power and screw back on that should reset it.
