    Great video Kevin. Double headed 50's!!! Takes me back, I saw them all past Hodge Lane , Hartford, in the early 70's, double headed before to Glasgow, before electrification.

    Cracking film! Defiance looks awesome with the full yellow cab, large intercity logo and black zoro-like mask on the windscreen. Thank goodness there was no NSE livery to be seen. #travesty

    Nice video Kev . The 50s made a lot of noise even when light engine . Looked like it was busy there.

    50007 Should be painted back in green, the best livery on a 50.

    Does 87002 still run on the mainline?

  • @eliottjeary1492
    @eliottjeary1492 Před 7 lety +1

    may i ask why the 50s didnt run from london euston all the way to glasgow in one go like they did in BR days?

    • @Penfold37250
      @Penfold37250 Před 7 lety +2

      Pretty sure they never did in BR days. Glasgow trains were electric hauled from Euston-Crewe where the 50's would take over to go North.

    • @eliottjeary1492
      @eliottjeary1492 Před 7 lety

      Im refering to before eletrification was started

      The 50s were only brought into service in 1967, after electrification between Euston and Crewe.

    • @owenevans83

      Eliott Jeary As said before, the 50s only ran between Preston and Glasgow.

      Correct! Prior to them being gradually transferred to the WR as replacements to the superior, (in my view!), Class 52 fleet.
