87002 & 50007/50049 The Caledonian Railtour @ Crewe on the 7th October 2017..London Euston - Glasgow, 87002 was London - Crewe and 50007 + 50049 was Crewe - Glasgow..the first clips are the Hoovers arriving light engine from Kidderminster SVR, then we see 87002 arriving into crewe then the changeover and finally the departure with clag of the 50s to Glasgow...

Great video Kevin. Double headed 50's!!! Takes me back, I saw them all past Hodge Lane , Hartford, in the early 70's, double headed before to Glasgow, before electrification.

Pretty sure they never did in BR days. Glasgow trains were electric hauled from Euston-Crewe where the 50's would take over to go North.

The 50s were only brought into service in 1967, after electrification between Euston and Crewe.

Correct! Prior to them being gradually transferred to the WR as replacements to the superior, (in my view!), Class 52 fleet.
