    Renfield
    Only in Theaters April 14
    www.renfieldmovie.com/
Evil doesn’t span eternity without a little help.
In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men franchise) stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Oscar® winner Nicolas Cage). Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency.
Renfield is directed by Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War, The LEGO Batman Movie) from a screenplay by Ryan Ridley (Ghosted series, Rick & Morty series), based on an original idea by The Walking Dead and Invincible creator Robert Kirkman.
The film co-stars Awkwafina (The Farewell, Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings), Ben Schwartz (Sonic, The Afterparty) and Adrian Martinez (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Focus) and Emmy winner and Oscar® nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo (House of Saddam, House of Sand and Fog).
Renfield is produced by Skybound Entertainment partners Robert Kirkman and David Alpert (The Walking Dead, Invincible), co-presidents Bryan Furst (Daybreakers) and Sean Furst (Daybreakers) and by Chris McKay. McKay’s producing partner Samantha Nisenboim (co-producer, The Tomorrow War) will executive produce.

The Renfield in this ballet was quite literally the BEST depiction of the character I have ever seen. The guys was barrel rolling across the stage and just going wild. It's hard to explain the dance but it was so perfect.
It's about time they gave this character a movie of their own, he is by far one of my favorite side characters in any movie. Same!! I discovered him on The Great and he made every scene better!! He's such a great actor! Doesn't necessary portray characters the way we think they should be done. But he makes them better somehow.

I love the framing of an abusive relationship support group SO MUCH that I want to go out and see this as probably the first movie I've seen in a theatre since the pandemic, despite full knowledge that I might annoy everybody by breaking out in hysterical laughter when Dracula does something spooky and all I can think about is him getting mauled by bees.

I would probably enjoy watching movies with you. I go into a movie knowing the plots are usually driven by one question. "What is the worst that could happen?" Then I laugh when it happens.

@@icedriver2207 movies taught me that one should only use the words "well, at least it can't get any worse" if you aren't carrying an umbrella.
I get what you mean. I minored in communications, so I read a lot of novels, watched films, and was in quite a few plays in college.
I don't think a lot of my friends like it all that much when I watch shows or movies at their place, cause even if I've never seen the show before and don't know any characters' names, I studied TROPES enough to be able to call what's going to happen next a lot of the time.
Like "Ope, she's pregnant. No, I haven't seen this, what was the name of this show again? Ah, thanks. Ok, the reason she's pregnant is because he cheated on his wife with her, right? And now he's saying he needs to back off from the affair because his wife is onto him. There's no conflict if they just leave it at that. The writers need a reason for him to feel torn between she and his wife. If he just leaves and that's that, then everybody just goes back to their lives disappointed, but if he gets a call a month later with news that she missed her period, it creates tension. Oh hey, see, she's throwing up and looking scared, called it."
