- This is a 16 inch saw with a 16x10" tilting table (45° - 90°). It's variable speed, going from 500 to 1700 strokes per minute, and is easily controlled manually (via a dial on the front) or with the included foot pedal, allowing you to keep both hands on what you're cutting. It offers tool-free blade changes (accepts both pinned and pinless blades), has a built-in air pump, a LED work light, dust port, a flexible shaft rotary attachment, includes onboard storage AND and comes with four blades. In this video, I unbox and do a comprehensive overview of the TackLife TLSS01A scroll saw and explain why I think this is one of the best saws for beginners.
NOTE: As of 01/04/22, I'm unable to find an active product link. I have contacted TackLife to try and figure out if this has been discontinued. I will update this description when I hear back.

This scroll saw has been a blast to use! For $135, it seems hard to beat. Have you used any of the other beginner saws out there? What did you think?
Ok for the life of me I can’t figure out how to get my rotary tool to start. What am I doing wrong?
Do you have this model? The rotary tool is powered by the same variable speed motor, so you’ll have to have the saw running to use the rotary tool
@@AnthonyTackett just double checked that, yep same model. I tried to disconnect and reconnect the tool and tried using it in both modes. Still nothing. Maybe it’s defective 😞
@@iambethanyjoy Oh no! And you attached it the same way that I did around the 7:50 mark? Sorry it's not working for you!
God bless your soul for making this video! I bought this saw over a year ago and just now have time (with 2 toddlers) to unbox and start using. This video was super helpful, direct and to the point without too much info. I feel really confident that I can use this now. I just subscribed.
Hey thanks so much! I hope you enjoy the saw!
@@AnthonyTackett Me too! Thanks! I'm scared now that I saw the thing about Amazon kicking Tack Life off for giving a free saw to people for a positive review. I have a laser level from them that I love so hopefully the saw works well for me.
I totally get that. I did mention in the video that it was sent to me, but TackLife has NEVER asked me to write a positive review on Amazon in exchange. They've always just asked me to test things out and provide an honest review on CZcams or social media. I do think I might make a followup video about this saw. I've noticed that the acrylic shield that goes around the blade attracts a lot of sawdust when you're cutting. I ended up taking that off after using the saw for a while. I've received several comments from people asking about how to use the pinless blade, as well. I should probably cover that process, too.
@@AnthonyTackett I'm obviously a new subscriber to your channel but your opinions about the saw seemed very genuine to me. You werent really giving a "review" anyway....it was more instructional and your first impressions. I'm super appreciative to have such a good tutorial so I can use it now.
Thanks for the review. Going to buy this one on Walmart instead since it is not available on Amazon.
I can’t seem to change the blade from pin to pin less I’m clueless as to adding the attachments for the pin less blade the manual is not user friendly 😑😑😑 please help….
What is the proper brushes for this machine?
Thanks for this tutorial can you please show how to change the blades from pin blade to pin less blade? I can’t seem to figure this out
Should the little lever that you use to put tension on the blade be moving when the saw is running? I'm also getting a pretty strong burning smell from my saw. Maybe I got a defective one?
Great questions. Since there is that thick piece of rubber at the base of the lever, I assume some movement is normal. A burning smell is not. Have you been able to pinpoint where it's coming from?
@@AnthonyTackett it's coming from the motor, and it started making banging noises so I shut it off... Luckily I'm still within the return window. :)
@@motleyhobby7913 Yikes!
i am new to channel i like the content i have sub and like the video .. keep up the good work hope to see more content from you soon ..
Thank you!!!
As of 12/27/21, TackLife no longer shows this product! Not good!
Ugh! I’m so sorry! I see that now. I may reach out to them and see what’s up. Thanks for letting me know.
@@AnthonyTackett Glad to help, Anthony! The included foot pedal seemed like a nice upgrade!
