- Revolutions Remixed is a fan edit combining elements of "The Matrix Revolutions", "The Animatrix" animated shorts, and the "Enter the Matrix" video game. The goal is to create a 2 hour film which is a tribute to the original work while presenting something completely new.
The theme of the trilogy can be summarized in a condescendingly as "Love concours all." But I see it as answering the existential dilemma. Nihilism, as represented by Smith, asserts that there is no purpose to life, that there is no such thing as free will, that it is impossible to ever know the truth, and that life is characterized by deterministic chaos inside of a meaningless void. The Existentialist, as represented by Neo, acknowledges and affirms the perspective of the Nihilist while also affirming that it is worth fighting for existence for its own sake. And in Neo's insistence that he chooses to continue fighting for the existence of humanity, for the machines, for life in general, he exposes the Smith's oversight that the act of choosing existence over non-existence is in itself a choice which affirms the idea that existence has value as the act of choosing necessitates existence to hold any value in itself. Thus Smith, the nihilist, negates his own existence by affirming the choice made by Neo, the existentialist, to accept his fate and final purpose. (*whoo* that is a lot to digest.)

Little known fact about this masterpiece of film: the entire final showdown between Neo and Agent Smith was filmed with minimal CGI. Reeves personally trained for several weeks to master flight and the Morpheus signature “bring it” hand gesture. The only real use of CGI is actually the lightning strikes in the background as weather wouldn’t cooperate with the filming schedule and they could not capture real lightning behind Reeves flying before he got tired.
That and the safety questions anyone would have (let alone a legal representative) involving putting someone in the sky while lightning strikes are happening. They close down roller coasters and airplanes for similar concerns. Real lightning vs real human probably isn't going to have a favorable outcome... maybe for Smith though.

That just means it's neat editing and good work. It doesn't mean it's a masterpiece. This Grand Finale of a battle was weak. They should have just went out using CGI. At least we would have seen what it looks like to see NEO really go all out with his abilities. This was weak sauce
If Neo had known he was supposed to get taken over by Smith then he would have just done it. Theres a reason why Neo fought Smith. He didnt know until a crucial point. That being said you should have included the statement by Seraph. "You do not truly know someone until you fight them."
And the fact that Neo chose to fight smith until the end Because A. It would've been obvious to Smith what Neo was trying to do had he given up early on in the battle and B. Smith didn't understand Nor have a Choice like Neo and the rest of Humanity had, He just had a Purpose and that sole Purpose was to Destroy Neo, The Matrix and eventually all of Machine City had Neo not been connected to the Source which allowed Smith to be deleted from the System.
The purpose of all life IS to end. It is inevitable. Do you really want to live forever? Live for hundreds of thousands of years and you'll find that it's not quite boring, but exhausting. For the betterment of all, it is best that we die. An eternal sleep, if you will. If you don't remember 1950, then you will not know 2199 (when this movie takes place). One day, we will all be in peaceful nothingness. And you can not prevent it. Maybe our children's children will be uploaded into a computer, you and I won't be so lucky. Or I guess I should say, un-lucky.
Neo needed to get smiths code. He did that by allowing Smith to beat assimilate him. Once he got the code he defeated him then returned to the source. Like the machines planned

I would want to here the story of how Hugo Weaving got cast as smith.
His transformation into the character was just proper.
For all the complex story line in the matrix movie the presence of Smith made me watch the movie.

Neo is a literal manifestation of all of the bugs and errors of the Matrix, which is why the Machine Mainframe needed his Code in order to complete the Matrix code for rebooting. Architect goes in depth on this back in Reloaded.

Choice is the most personal power we posses as human beings. Choice belongs to each of us individually. It cannot be manipulated by anyone or anything except the owner. It cannot be taken or given again. Nothing or no one can command you to choose if you don't choose to. One can yield this power anytime one choses. One can use choice to change his/her perspective as one would yield all the power in the world. Once armed with this power not even God himself can intervene. The freedom of this is eternal value.
