Hey, thanks for some of the videos have watched. now, I'm using Revit 2024 and I'm having trouble placing connections on a steel portal frame. Also, I'm using EC3 trying to design a warehouse bay. Help.
Hey @KyleSinko I'm doing a structural + framing axonometric of Glenn Murcutts Fletcher-Page house for an assignment. The rafters are exposed and overhang with the roof sheeting out at 800mm, and they are cut horizontally on an angle for this 800mm. Do you know how I could edit the beam type to do this too? I currently can't even figure out how to edit the the rafter I just loaded into revit anyway, when I go to edit type it doesn't show the option to edit like it normally would with other families? Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you for being the best revit tutor ever :)
Sounds like a fun project! I did a similar house in third year. I’m not on my laptop currently but I believe you can specify an overhang in the properties panel. For example, I think it’s “x” extension (or Z or Y), set this as 800 to give the beam an overhang. You can mess with the family by going to the project browser (underneath the properties panel) and find “families” “structural framing” and right click edit family. I hope that helps
reagarding to the minute 6:13 how you make it the structural laying flat?
I have loaded in a family that has had the normal beam rotated 90 degrees. Saved it as it's own family.
When u isolate the roof, can it be moved to a sheet ?
You can apply temporary isolate/hide with the glasses tool down in the bottom ribbon. This will make it show on a sheet. You can’t transfer that isolate/hide to another drawing though from what I believe
Hi im having issues with rafters only being visible at single lines! in the familes editor it is 3d geometry but in the project in all views its a single line. help
Change detail level to fine.
