Isn't it wonderful that a small local get together band so developed into a nationally recognized band? It just shows what hidden talents so many have, that just never are developed. The band director must have been able to find and help those men learn how much they were capable of doing! Congrats to them all!
I wish I had been there to hear this concert in person. So moving. This recording sounds archival, though. I’d love to hear a full spectrum recording professionally done. This band deserves it! Great arrangement!
Half-way expected them to break into Floral Dance at 4:15 - because they used to play that one so well.... :-) But still... Pleasantly surprised by this Old Boys band -Thank you!!
Grimethorpe Colliery Band's version of Bohemian Rhapsody sends shivers down my spine, in a nice way. I don't know many brass bands who can perform a Queen classic, and make it sound great. Grimethorpe Colliery Band, I salute you all, as a Queen fan, myself, I think that, Freddie Mercury would have been so very, very proud to hear this version of Bohemian Rhapsody. No wonder it's been voted Britain's Favourite Number 1, a lot of people love it, I do, too. RIP Freddie, Mr and Mrs Bulsara, and Freddie's partner, Jim Hutton. 😥❤

I love this song and I love this Band. However The band must have had an 'off' day and the arrangement was terrible. to summarise. - A great song butchered.
