@@ToolDemos sounds like my luck 😀..I looked at one the parts store was pushing (the Topdon) but I have a Snap on tester that still works good , but is a few years old..plus the Topdon had a printer so I was tempted..I may still grab one if I get a chance again..

Thanks 😄. According to Honda, if the VTM-4 light is blinking then there is a serious problem inside your rear differential. It’s probably a mechanical issue that needs to be repaired.

Yes, it has several different adapters that fit many cars.

probably just needs brushes not a whole alternator
but that’s a lot of trouble sometimes

also the starter may be the one solenoid terminal worn
if it’s like the old ones were

Most likely, it was. Maybe I’ll try replacing brushes next time.
