Haahhhahahahhahahaah and then it gets worse. Every year et eternum people recomment this
"Idle as a CEO"
Savage!
O boy, a Yiddish socialist song that sounds Slavic, the Nazis must be having aneurisms seeing this
/pol/ implodes everytime that "jewish", "socialist" and "anti-zionist" are included in the same sentence, so, yeah, definitely.
I quite like it tbh
Good, saves me ammunition.

As slavic guy my self an customer of mine who is educated in linguistic did me explain, that most Jiddishes has dip of slavic language.
This song got weirdly relevant lately
It always was, it was just brought to everyone who wasn't paying attention.
the jobless corps are marching once more...
@@AwesomeReshiram but maintaining social distancing
@@AwesomeReshiram The jobless corps are marching 1.5 meters apart
Down to even the spike in unemployment and people wearing plague masks in public... weird. Lol
P.S. I'm not commenting from a political perspective (I made the mistake of scrolling down in the comment section lol).
This actually aged well tbh. How prophetic for CZcams to recommend this to me.
And to think that this was inspired by a song with identical Yiddish lyrics from 1938.
@@samsadowitz1724 Thanks, now I gotta find that. This song holds up so well, I've had "arbetsloze zenen mir" in my head for days
@@JosephWall117 the song is called "Arbetlosenmarsch"
I like how they take the "means of production" at the end.
Good catch
this band singlehandedly convinced me to actually sit down and learn Yiddish, if only to understand the lyrics and be able to sing along. It's quite rare to find such catchy and loveable songs nowadays that also carry such a strong political message. Love it.
Yiddish. I was listening to Israeli music and this autoplayed and i was confused.
now you speak german too
@@kanutahytomka4542Yeah lmao that's why I learn Yiddish, I was like oh, that's just German++
I speak Arabic and German, so I can even understand some of the semitic words, as Hebrew and Arabic share some root words, plus I understand almost all the Germanic words, but I want to sit down someday and learn Yiddish for real; it's one of my favourite languages; it sounds like melodic German
Yiddish music is so beautiful; something about reaches very deep into me like no other music
As a native German speaker, It's amazing how I can basically understand everything. The transliteration to the Latin alphabet looks a bit wonky at times, but it's pretty easy to get the gist of things.
I love how popular this is! Seeing modern day internet comments on Yiddish stuff is very heartening.
Klezmer never dies!
Never
When the video ends with seizing the means of production *chef kiss*
you can also interpret this as the people taking the revolution and owning it instead of those who are on a pedestal ("professional revolutionaries", or "the party" or whatever other allegory you can find)
A Jewish anti-capitalist song. Now that is what I enjoy.
Oh boy, this is just the tip of the ice berg. There's plenty of Yiddish socialist, anarchist, and social democrat music from the bundist movement
@@gnosis2871 what should I look for?
@bob john thanks so much for this, my grandmother would be proud to see me listening to ... would this be considered klezmer music? anyway, I recoiled from all things jewish as a young kid, and now that my grandma is gone, i am sort of unearthing my jewishness, and its fun and interesting and educational for sure.
Begone fascist. Follow your leader. Unless you need help.

Yiddish is related to German but it's a separate language. Saying Yiddish is German is a bit like saying Catalonian is Spanish, Kurdish is Persian or Swedish is Danish. There is a large number of similarities and some mutual understanding but it's still two different things.
I see your point but to be fair Yiddish is almost mutually intelligible with German, I don’t speak Yiddish but I (german speaker) get what they are saying just fine, it’s another language, yes, but it’s pretty understandable to mix the two if you don’t speak or know either
@@salsicha5305 it s like the romantic languages, pretty understandable, but not the same
Rares-Alexandru Ionascu I mean, not really, especially if you’re talking Plattdeutsch, the ease a German speaker has with Yiddish is way bigger than a portuguese speaker with Spanish, and they don’t sound as similar as Plattdeutsch and Yiddish
I *was* wondering why my German was failing me there for a moment until I realised what was going on haha
I agree, although Yiddish and German are closer than Persian and Kurdish and the other examples you named.
Yiddish is basically just medieval German, listen to medieval(Mittelhochdeutsch) poems and compare them to yiddish, THAT is the same thing. This is because the jewish diaspora from Germany started in medieval times, the jews preserved medieval German.
This song (only Yiddish version) came up on my workers song playlist on spotify. And firstly I wasn't 100 % convinced. Then I listend to it another time. And the more often I listened to it the more I loved it. And I am a German native, and I made it a challenge for me to try to understand everything that the song says. And it forced me to just stop whatever I was doing and focus 100 % on the song and that was actually a very interesting experience. And now I see this version on CZcams. And the video is fecking great!
can we get some titles from your spotify playlist ? :D
Arbietlose senen Mir
I felt excatly the same
I only know this is the version of Zupgeigenhansel with another collection of Jiddische Lieder and seeing this I prefer the Zupgeigenhansel edition, this lacks a bit of personalisation and authenticity..
Workers, peasants, kibbutzniks, first to come to work, first to fight, first to die, last to leave
there should be a "love" button
We feel the love ..that's enough brother :) Although a love button would be good!
i like how the capitalist are still trying to work the crowd at the ending and the crowd is having none off it

@@lynnixvarjo9150 tbh ansyn and ancom are fairly mainstream libcom ideologies, and i guess if you want a /trip/, read stirner to find out abt egoism? idk if i could ever manage it tbh
(edited for typo)
@@rockpooladmirer I meant the Combination of Egoism and Communsim sounds ... Interesting
Communism is the natural consequence of authentic egoism, if everyone think for themselves and act out their true desires they would soon realize that the best course of action is to unite, take over the means of production, and live together in equality and freedom
There's something revolutionary about Daniel's appearance, not only in this video :)

Transcendent. Bittersweet, stinging, and Defiantly Joyful. I cry everytime I hear Yiddish, the mameloshen, the mother tongue of my ancestors.
Would it please the wastelands to know that love? Many places, Yiddish is ridiculed. "Gee, you sure talk German funny." Sadly, when Chava Alberstein recently performed in Israel, as was reported in the Forward, singing in Yiddish, she was laughed off the stage. Es pas nisht! (This will not do. It is improper).

Workers unite and organize! Do not let your rights and wages be trembled over! Unionise!
This song is amazing, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
Mordechai Gebirtig's poetry remains beautiful and still as powerful even in the adapted translated bits, while showing the translator's own. The song is amazing.
Love it! It's like the klezmer theme to the occupy movement!!
Crowned heads will tremble when the black and red unite.
Otto von Bismark.
But some parts of the reds will never be able to join the blacks. And i am not Even a anarchist myself, but still this is obvious.
Anarcho-Stalinism wen?
The Grass Masks lmao
Bismarck was referring to the Catholic blacks, i.e. the centrists, not the anarchists. As an anarcho-capitalist can never join a fascist (because the fascist will resist the anarcho-capitalist's philosophy of self-interest which contradict with the his statist ideals and the anarcho-capitalist shall resist the fascist's restrictions on immigration which contradict his philosophy of the pursuit of wealth through open borders and a meritocratic society), an anarcho-communist can never join a Marxist-Leninist, lest the Marxist-LEninist see his police officers hit with molotovs and the anarcho-communist's local organisations destroyed by the vanguard party.
Psoy looking mighty fine with dat epic beard
Rights are rights. What matter what language they’re expressed in?
Donning a beard a without license should be illegal. Only cool mo'fos like like this should be offered a license, and than decline it, on account of being counter- establishment.
This made me laugh more than it should've
Lucky enough to see Mr. Kahn in performance (with The Painted Bird) many years in Princeton, something I'll never forget. Went to Berlin in April hoping to see him, but he was not performing. Wish I could see him again....not giving up hope! In the meantime I'll play his CDs.
