Same thing happened with my dad, he and my grandfather went to the mall, didn't find the car when they were done and reported it stolen, turned out that it was parked on another floor.
This happened to me when i was 22...i was with my brothers😂😂😂 we panicked cz we'd stolen grandma's car

My Dad & I went to Long Beach fleet week once and couldn't find our car. I was pretty sure we forgot where it was but he thought it was stolen. I convinced him not to report it right away since it would be a bold crime to steal a car in an area crawling with the police, the military, and the military police.
We found it after searching for about 45 minutes. Very fun day though.
About a month ago, was pleasantly surprised to walk into Amoeba Records only to find this gentleman DJ'ing... He's amazing 😍

Because if it is stolen, the first 48 hours are crucial to recovery. Many car thieves break vehicles down they steal, for the parts as all the parts are worth more than the whole. This is especially true for older vehicles that lack today's anti theft systems and have more versatile parts

Cops telling him not to get in his car because he reported it stolen feels a little like telling on themselves. Cops on the beat shoot first, ask questions later? If he confirms his car isn't stolen shouldn't that go out to everyone looking for his car? Am I missing something here, logistically?
Also why would you pull guns out on someone for stealing a car that's not a violent crime or anything

hes not kidding..had a friend do something similar. found his car and got in...before he even made it 3miles a bunch of cops got on him and they were extremely aggressive. idk if they had guns pulled out but they did slam him against the street.
