Back To Humans Tee available at Queen + Adam Lambert Rhapsody Official Tour Store: rhapsodytourshop.com/
A thrilling collision of sound and vision dubbed “a masterclass” by USA Today, the Queen and Adam Lambert ‘Rhapsody' show opens with the juddering industrial beat and vocal harmonies of Machines (or Back To Humans) - a new reworking of the cult favourite track that opened the second side of The Works album in 1984.
While immersive staging pulls the audience into a dystopian world of spinning cogs and hissing pistons, a battalion of CGI robots march across the giant video screens to the sound of “Machines” and look down on the crowd with unforgiving brimstone eyes - only to be vanquished with the assistance of a virtual Freddie vocal, the band then launching into a techo-infused but highly human Radio Ga Ga, which kicks off a two-hours-plus roller coaster of the band’s legacy catalogue.
In the opening of the new ‘Rhapsody' production, the audience hears Freddie Mercury and Brian May’s duetting lead vocals from behind, raising the alarm (originally in 1984!) that The Machines are about to take over. Set against this, the robotic voices are provided by Roger Taylor’s vocoded vocals advocating the Machines’ point of view. The theme of this conflict bursts back in at various points later in the set.
Reintroduced to the Queen setlist for the band’s current US tour, the feverish live reaction to Machines (Or Back To Humans) has now prompted the band to release the original track as a digital single becoming available November 10.
Originally written by Brian and Roger almost 40 years ago and today holding a core position in the band’s current spectacular live production, “Machines” is undisputedly now even more of its time than ever.

Queen - Machines (Or Back To Humans) (Official Lyric Video)
/ queenofficial - Hudba
A criminally underrated Queen song.
Agreed
One of many, but this one certainly doesn’t get enough attention.
Any songs under "The works" is underrated tbh
Fr
Must be played at full blast! ❤❤❤
Anything by Queen always turn into a classic.
Message still rings true today…miss you Freddie. 👑 ❤
Freddie’s voice will always be the greatest! No one comes close to his talent! ♥️👑👑
Thats not Freddy. That's Adam Lambert.
First it is Freddie, not Freddy. This is Queen ( Freddie’s voice). If it was Adam it would say Queen + Adam Lambert. Adam is not an official Queen member. Adam sounds nothing like Freddie. They used the song apparently as an opener for their Rhapsody tour but this is a Queen recording. You can Goggle about the release : “Sir Brian May and Roger Taylor have announced the release of a classic Queen song with Freddie
Mercury's vocals as a digital single for the first time, with an accompanying lyrics video” per the Express.
@@elbybrook9466🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻😆😆😆
@@starburst6606Adam also says every night that no one can replace Freddie, he's just keeping the legacy alive, Brian And Roger are so happy with him.
He is currently only comparable to Rob Halford
2:37 it's an incredible rise in tone. Freddie Mercury rules
Totally!!!!😊😊😊😊
For Freddie ❤
Always 💛
There are so much incredible vocal performance of Freddie through all the 20 years of unbelievable career that chosing a single one is almost impossible... listen even to a B-SIDE like SOUL BROTHER to hear his amazing vocal skill... and it's just a fu%&ng b-side... Freddie was the best...period
Another underrated Taylor/May track. Bring's back great memories of 1984. The album, the singles and the 2 of the 3 night's I saw them at the NEC. Great concerts.
I was at the NEC, best gig of my life!
@@MrAth69 I did the Friday and Saturday night's but could,'nt do the Sunday night. I gave Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet some friendly banter on the Saturday.😀😀
The Works tour was fabulous! My sister and I went to the 4 nights they played Wembley Arena and got great seats through the Fan Club, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th rows. Wish we could turn back the clock for that. ❤️❤️❤️
I don't know why this song gets slept on, it's awesome!
Agreed! It’s no doubt though probably because like a lot of other great Queen songs it’s never been on the radio, at least not in the UK anyway.
Muy muy buena bievenida a nuestro oidos ❤❤❤❤
Well, this song is quite simple, it's not as epic as other song of theirs.
This should've been released as a single. It's a great track. Long live queen. 🎉
It was in the UK as a b side in 1984.
It was originally the b side of I want to break free, I have it on vinyl
@@mxthewbxynt0nlover and me, both 7 and 12". 🤘🤘
There was a single ... At least in Europe.
I'm surprised it never featured in a movie of the era, given the abundance of sci-fi/action films with heavy reliance on technology and themes of man versus machine. It would have fit in perfectly with The Terminator (released the same year as this song and its parent album), or even RoboCop a few years later.
John's bass it's so solid, what a great song. I had never heard this song before, I was 13 in 1984, and only had access to what was on the radio at that age, the singles mostly, and then you grow, life goes on, today for a moment I thought this was a new song, re worked with Freddie's vocals saved, just like the new Beatles song, released recently, what an amazing feeling it was to hear Freddie's voice again anew!, just now reading the comments I find out it is a song from back then, but for a moment just briefly... A Queen song it's always on a class of its own, so relevant now, more than ever I'd say.
As duas baterias ( eletrônica, no sintetizador, e acústica) de Roger Taylor
Freddie lives on forever through us all ❤
Queen. WAY ahead of their time
Another hidden gem! You guys really know how to make "timeless" music
Музыка Queen всегда была супер!!! Я вырос на ней!
Before seeing Queen and Adam Lambert in Boston on the Rhapsody Tour, I had never even heard of this song before. I can now say that this was an incredible addition to the show and a really great part of Queen’s resume. Glad to see it’s receiving much more attention. Thanks for an incredible song and an unforgettable performance! Queen rocks! 🎤🎸
Saw them in Baltimore...it was awesome
They used Machines as an intro back in the 80's, so seeing them reuse it was really cool. Saw them in Philly and was really impressed with the whole show's presentation in general.
Not really Queen though...
Glad you enjoyed this track from The Works album. If you are into Queen, explore their greatest hits volume 1, 2 and 3. Pick out the tracks you like and buy the albums where they come from. It has been over 30 years for me when I started collecting their remastered CD releases the time they came out between 1993 to 1994.When Made In Heaven(1995), Queen Rocks(1997 compilation) and Greatest Hits III(1999) were first released I bought them right away. I have every studio album with Freddie Mercury on lead vocals plus his releases outside of Queen too. I wish you a happy journey collecting and listening!
@@anonscribo250 I actually do own their Greatest Hits #1 & 2 on Vinyl. They are both incredible albums and cover some of the best hits produced by Queen over the years. It doesn't entirely do justice to the legacy of the band, as only owning all of the albums could even come close to that. The Works is in my top three favorite albums put out by the band, and aside from Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio GaGa is my favorite song by Queen. This one is certainly growing on me though...
Freddie the best forever! Queen also the best! Kisses to all Queen fans in the world, Nica ❤❤❤❤
The subject matter, so ahead of their time.
I am a big Queen fan. This track is a masterpiece.
The most underrated Queen song. Really fits in "The Works" album.
Hearing freddie is just amazing. AMAZING❤
This was always my favourite song on The Works.
The works is great album ❤
@@PAULISNOTDEADthe best of 80’s decade
Queen have become immortal through their music, they will always be loved❤ ❤
Every time that song starts, i feel like be back in 1984. That was the intro of the works tour. Saw them in Frankfurt. The memories always makes me smile... To me in the George Orwell year, was a great but underrated song. Not much liked them these days....but thx for bringing back memories. Queen will always and forever Rock🎸🤘🏻👑
Since the first time, I love it!
I still have the The Works LP, bought in Lima city. :)
Freddie Siempre vivirás en nuestros corazones, POR SIEMPRE FREDDIE❤️, POR SIEMPRE QUEEN✨
Rip Freddie, the god of music
This was the B side to "I Want to Break Free" if I remember correctly and as a 13yo in 1984, I absolutely played the hell out of this. Amazingly underrated track. Thanks for bringing it back!
Correct! It was the B Side of the US "i want tobreak free" single, and it was instrumental -> czcams.com/video/ORA16DayYfo/video.html&ab_channel=RETROREMIXES1
One of my absolute favourite tracks from 'The Works!' album!
Whilst sounding on the one hand a vent of frustration at the increasingly digital recording/production process it spoke most loudly to my teenage self as a cri de coeur, railing against the dehumanising mechanisation of people themselves.
One that, sadly, resonates even louder today than in 1984.
❤✊
Love being taken back to the 80s for a short while ❤
I've always loved this song, and I hate that it is so overlooked! Brings back memories of 1984, I watched them live on TV in Venezuela as guests at the Sanremo festival performing Radio Gaga. I also had the great honor of watching them live in Caracas Venezuela in September of 1981, having just turned 16. I will never forget that experience!
One of my favorite Queen songs from the excellent The Works. ❤❤
Anything Queen is good!!! No matter what style or type of music they made. Everything sounds just amazing!!! Freddie's voice and singing style and emotions make impressions always on me!!!!😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A queen fan since 1992... I remember buying The Works and discovering this track. Didnt liked it much back than, but appriciate it much more nowedays. Freddie's voice is outstanding. And it is what the world needs... Back to human!!!
QUEEN ❤ 🎶 🎸 🎤
A very fantastic and classic song, considered like B Side and unvalueded.
Actually the first ever QUEEN song I heard, knowing it was a QUEEN song. Around 2008/ 2009 (age 11-12) I found a Vinyl single and a record player at my grandmas house, wanted to try out if that stuff still works and what it sounds like. So I unpack all that stuff, just somehow managed to put the vinyl on it, place the needle, plug it in and there it was, talking to me. MACHINES MACHINES MASCHINEEEES... What a moment haha I was so confused, I'll never forget that.😂😂 Over the years it turned as one of my favourite songs (which are MANY) and judge me, but I know every word of the lyrics🤣👀 It's just such an important song for me because otherwise I would probably never end up being who I am today 🤷🏻♂️ I don't only like QUEEN, as for many others too, QUEEN is my life...! It seems these machinery sounds took me over. But I'll be more careful with the record player I find in my next life, I promise 🙏🏼
One of my personal favorite songs on Works album
my band since 6 years old QUEEN FORVEVER
I'm 54 and a friend brought me this album ion the day it came out. This transported me right back there even though I listen to Queen regularly and have seen them many times, though only once with Freddie in '86. Still amazing., and Adam is a saviour - what a live show he gives.
My favorite song from the works.
Love this one. When I was a kid I listened to The Works almost 10 times a day
Great. The Works will be always fashionable.
Love this song. Freddie's s voice is on top form. The guitar parts are amazing. I love John deacons bass on this it really comes through. Roger and John amazing rhythm section. This was a a really underated song.
How have i never heard this before? This is awesome!
As a gen x teen during The Big Brother is watching 80's...this was my protest to all the machines slowly taking over...Thank you for the timeless anthem that resonates so loudly even today...FOREVER QUEEN/FREDDIE MERCURY🎶🤘🏽🤘🏽🎶🕯🕯
First of all, this is a great song and I love this one. Second, this is prophet song like many Queen songs. Now we live in Machine's World.
This is a Top 3 tune for me from Queen, and a long time favorite for nearly 4 decades. Knew nothing about the setlist going into the July 2019 Concert in Pittsburgh, PA that I attended. I did realize that it would mostly be a "greatest hits", but I was hoping for at least 1 song that most of the crowd wouldn't know, but would satisfy hard core fans. To open the show, was the epic re-working of Innuendo. And then, BAM! They played Back to Humans. My brother and myself damn near fell out of the arena, while at least 95% of the remaining attendees stood there without a clue. So glad to see this song getting the attention!
Man, my mom had the Works album and this song always been my favorite song from that album! Great tech eletronic rock music!!!!
One of my favourite Queen songs ever! A rare Mercury- Taylor composition. It sums Queen in the 80’s perfectly! 🤖
May/Taylor song 👍

When this song comes out, i went 18 with the first car a VW Kaefer, with CD deck, it encouraged you too fast. The aggressive drums, Brian's guitar, the entire rhythm and of course Freddie's voice, I get tears in the eyes when I think about it!
Still sounds as great today as it did when I first heard it on The Works album in 1984. The video is a great addition btw.
This would be in my top 4 all time great queen songs. It’s a masterpiece.
Perfect opener and story for the Rhapsody Tour
"QUEEN " есть "QUEEN "..! Качественно, Красиво и Прекрасное звучание..! СУПЕР !...
Queen + Adam Lambert effectively used it in the opening of the concert with special effects Awesome stuff.
I didn't expect this to be the opening song at concert.
2:19
Freddie's voice!!!
"They freeze me, They burn me. They squeeze me, They stress me", and "When the machines take over, It ain't no space for Rock and roll" - what ominous words, and 30-40 years later they became a reality...
Favorite song from my favorite Queen album.
A great song ❤ love queen❤
God save the Queen!! Freddie will be the GOAT of lead singers. There will never be anyone that can touch his energy on stage. Great to hear a song that hardly ever gets air time. I am sharing this with the new generation of "rockers"!
LOVE IT!! Remembering my childhood in front of my vinyl sound system with all Queen’s albums 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼!! Thanks for this beautiful video 🙏🏻!!
A qualidade desse som me deixou de boca aberta 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Mesmo entendendo Inglês ainda fica difícil compreender o que significa "parahumanoidarianised".
Maybe The Works box set? 😲😲🤯
Me encanta los álbumes de Queen 👑👑👑👑❤️❤️😍😍. Sigan Adelante 💪. Nuestra Reina 👑👑👑👑. Viva Queen 👑🎤🎶🎵🎸.

I have been a Queen fan since 1981, and I have NEVER heard this song before! How could I have missed this one? It's f*cking fantastic!!
In AI early stages, this fits so well and it gives me goosebumps.
Queen for ever ❤️
My favourite Queen song. I hope they bring out The Works box set like The Miracle. Awesome album
Queen, a truly great band. So great that a song of this quality could be a B side. Excellent video. Well done!
GREAT QUEEN from CHILE FELICITACIONES
I love how this video was made in a retro-ish style❤❤
Btw thus song has one of the funniest lyrics I love it

Я всегда обожал эту песню. Аж мурашки по коже. 💪🏻👍🏻
I've always loved this song.
Still, I was afraid to watch the video as I wasn't sure if I'd find the real deal or a cover with that guy on vocals.
Well, it's Freddie, so all good.
There can be only one!
OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS
A true Queen collaborative song... and so ahead of its time!!! This is indeed a Machines World!!!
✨🌱💮🌱 Grazie infinite per la condivisione 🙏 Complimenti ed un meritato applauso 👏 Buon weekend 🏖️ Ciao 🇮🇹✔️💙 🌱💮🌱💮🌱
Been listening to Freddie sing this for years.
The very best of Queen and hardly mentioned song. ❤
Superb Freddie !!! 💖💖💖
Wow!!!..Unreal, What a voice, smooth, rich and exciting. Thankyou, Ros
Nada es lo mismo sin Freddie, pero Queen seguirá siendo Queen por siempre y amaré cada proyecto, cada canción, cada álbum, cada concierto, sea de hace 50 años o sea uno reciente, los amaré.
Finally, a watch worthy Queen lyrics video! Still not what could have been but it's great to watch the lyrics transitions merging with the robots. If you guys could match the music with everything would improve so much. This is definitely the right direction to go with Queen music 🎵🎶😎
All Dead, All Dead lyrics video is awesome and has so much to appreciate both visually and musically ❤️
I love it, I love Queen ❤❤
Absolutely magnificent track.
