My '88 2.7 had also the bbs rims from an 911 ... in front a coil kit but the back bust my nuts ... very interesting to see all the work and constructions !! 👍👍👍 Nice car man !!
Also, VW IRS diagonal arms are physically the same dimension as the early steel 944 diagonal arms. However, the 944 arms are internally reinforced, so are the better choice for strength
I really wish you made these work on the steel arms! That's exactly where I'm at with my build and have been hoping to find guidance on how to make the steel arms work with a set of gravel coilovers. Maybe I'll have to make a video tutorial myself 🤔
Be mindful of the loading of those damper mounts, they were never designed to take the weight of the car, only the relatively light loads of the damper. Long term i'd imagine some form of reinforcement up top and bracing/gusseting at the bottom would be wise.

Just started watching but I assume you put aluminum trailing arms from an 86 951 on to keep the right offset. Bonus benefit is that saves 15-18lbs of unsprung weight. T bars are slightly heavier than coilovers also.
Man it just shows there's a collector for every type of car I've always thought those Porsche looked cool but heard that Porsche guys don't like them an I heard there engines are full of problems but idk never had one they look like rx7
why... why do you do this to me, you're the reason i can't find a gawd damn 944 anywhere at a reasonable price arn't ya! they used to be like 3-4k and now ratty ones are 10k-15k if you're lucky in my area
I think it’s fine being down south, he does 944s for a living so there as least plans and reason behind each one. Up here in NH though you are screwed, all the VWs I buy up here are crusty and terrible

John you did this too early there's a company now that makes a rear torsion bar for the 944's that accept coilovers
