I flew for 33 years, retired 18 yrs & now I am back with Delta as a FA Uniform Style Consultant. It is such an honor to continue to be a part of this wonderful industry. I wish you the very best. Hi Kendra! I just had to comment on this video. I originally watched this video about 6 months ago. My son was going through FA training with another airline, so I was watching every FA training video I could just to get a feel for what he was going to go through. I thought your video was great back then, but decided to concentrate more on the videos for his airline.
Well, he didn't make it through that training. Fast forward, he is now in DL FA training and I am looking at videos again. Out of nowhere your video pops up again. You made the video on May 7, 2022. I watched the video on May 9, 2023. You were in week 5 of training, he currently is in week 5 of training. Your OE was to Providence....you guessed it, his second OE will be to Providence.
This video was like real time for me to understand what these last days are like for him. Just like your family, I will be flying in next Thursday for his graduation next Friday.
Thank you for posting this video. It is detailed enough to help people like me really understand and support the people we love who are going through this unique process.

I have questions too. I had a bad training experience with another airline. And i have an interview with another airline soon. Looking very forward to that! Regarding the sour training i had with another airline entirely, it was brutal (not the material ) but the instructors. There were never any kind words or after class assistance. I wonder if the trainings at all airlines are like that or if there is a little more humanity at other trainings, and this particular airline just had some sour apples in the training division. Your thoughts? (If you can) …

Hey Kendra, new subscriber, I am a Delta Platinum Medallion. I was amazed how much Delta let you film inside their facilities. Last month I was on a flight where they were training first class service. I like you vlogs, been looking for a Delta FA for sometime!

secondly, I couldn’t film in classrooms or anywhere we had real learning material on display. that’s why most of the clips are of my hotel, campus, or walking around somewhere outside haha. Great vlog! Did you have many classmates in their 50s or above and if so, how well did they do in training? Looking forward to this career once my youngest graduates in two years.
in my section (1/4 of the class) we had three classmates above 50 but in my entire class (100 people) I believe we had ten or so!
I applied when a friend dared me too. Got it, first try, top tier airline, at 50. Many there in their 60s+.

The hotel you stayed at during training was it close to grocery store, Walgreens, Starbucks, Target etc? Would you recommend taking a car to training or could you walk to stores nearby? Your uniforms looked really good on you. 😃 Congrats on earning your wings. I enjoyed watching your journey.👏🏾🎉👍🏾
hi! if it’s possible, I would certainly recommend bringing your car. the hotels are near the training center and unfortunately there isn’t much near the training center. We had a few people in my class who had a car who would offer to take some of us shopping. I ended up relying on Amazon fresh or Amazon Whole Foods delivery for my groceries.

they do have a whole system for retakes! It’s a but complicated to get into here but they certainly make it easy to succeed there as long as you are putting forth your best effort

Hi! Thanks for making these videos they’re super helpful. Question- were you allowed to wear your multiple piercings during training? I noticed you have a few and so do I.
for almost all training days you are allowed to wear two earrings per ear. there are a few “brand days” where you can only have one per ear. that’s at least how it is for my airline! on the line, you are allowed to wear two per ear.

Good question Kendra, if I get my event day training but I can't get my passport (it's being renewed atm) I can show proof that I will have one will this suffice?

@@mindsetmotivation9124 I’ve only had two international trips so far as they are hard to get as a junior FA. I’ve worked lots of domestic but I typically work jfk to lax (I’m nyc based) because I prefer transcons and I am originally from LA so I like to visit there.
you can always pick up international trips if you want to and there are always loads of them available to be picked up but it’s easier said than done when trying to figure out your schedule. That being said, I have a lot of classmates who pick up a ton of international.
but it is certainly quite easy to only do domestic if that’s what you want!

no they’re not, unfortunately. they don’t produce them anymore so you can only buy what’s left on the website and you can buy used from other FAs
Congratulations to you I've been applying for flight attendant positions even though I have no experience as a flight attendant I feel everyone has to start as a beginner some kind of way I already fly just to different countries as a nomad I just need the opportunity to get into a training class do you think you could help or point me in the right direction for someone who has no prior flight attendant experience but I am passionate about starting a career as a flight attendant

Maybe it’s your resume? Your style of interviewing? How you dress in the interview? ( yea they do pay attention to that as well)

Can you elaborate on white polo days? Do you have to wear a short sleeve shirt?
you can wear short or long sleeve and polos or button up dress shirts work! if it’s for my airline, you will be given a jacket that you will probably wear most days over the polo anyway
You were allowed to have multiple ear piercings in training? I thought it was one per ear - I took my cartilage piercings out to interview and just never put them back in. LOL
on regular training days you can wear two earrings in each ear! for “brand days” they still have the one only rule. & on the line fly can wear two in each ear!

no I cannot. you can call your hotel when you know where you’re staying and ask. if there’s not a microwave in your room, there will always be one in the hotel you can use!
Are you allowed to have your notes with you during the tests? I leave for training in 2 weeks and I’m so nervous. I get really bad test anxiety, it would help so much if we were able to have our notes with us during the test but idk!
no, notes are not allowed but trust me when I say they give you all the information you need to succeed! all I can say is our your best effort forward and try your hardest always. I’m not sure which airline you’re going to but with mine, the program sets you up for success!

How is the water test? I’m nervous because I can’t swim
you don’t have to know how to swim! you’re not tested on your ability to swim. they will pair you up with someone who is a stronger swimmer to help you but all in all you do not have to “know how to swim”! hope that helps 💚
Are you required to have one of each or could you choose to have pants only uniforms?
no you can choose your uniform package! I chose the “one of each” option and looking back I wish I didn’t because I’ve yet to even wear the dress or skirt, I’ve only ever worn the pants and vest combo to work. but that’s what I feel most comfortable in. so I would recommend to chose more of whatever you feel most comfortable in

I’m not sure about Southwest’s training. I think you only have to learn 2 aircraft so I don’t think training for sw is as long as mine was (we have 9 aircraft we have to learn)

is each exam has time limit?
yes there is a 1 hour time limit for each test but I would say a majority of my classmates finished within the 30 minute mark for each test

apply and keep applying if you don’t get it the first time! one of my closest friends from training had been a mainline FA for almost 8 years and it took him 6 face 2 face interviews before he got it with my airline. sometimes it’s about the people that you get at the interview and whatnot but don’t stop trying! my airline is amazing
