    I just found your vlog. I found it so amusing and sincere. I met this flight attendant in Seattle rushing to catch the train to the airport. She was upset and complaining about having to leave her son to go to work. I answered at the great opportunity she has in showing him the world. He will have a perspective of life. It cheered her up. I trust her flight was more enjoyable.

    Dear Kendra, always look forward to your layover scenes set to the most perfect music. Keep it up, it differentiates your efforts from many others and shows your creative side. While being a FA can look exotic, beautiful places, travel, hotels, etc.; it is hard exhausting work. The constantly changing work hours are worse than nurses, which are pretty terrible. It takes a special person who can keep it all in perspective and learn to be happy. Wishing you calm skies and bright sunrises.

    Kendra, this is Herman in SEA - your 81 years young gay guy who as ‘widowered’ earlier this year. Girl You need a BIGGGG hug, plus a gallon of iced Diet Coke and an entire dozen donuts from California Donuts in Koreatown. First off , Monserrat would be pronounced MAHH- say- RAHHHT. Next, we are such Kendra-kindred spirits concerning difficulty in shutting down and going to sleep. My brain just does NOT turn off. I get up snd function the next day, snd still I will have problems sleeping that night.
    I love your music selections like Mark does. Am a classically trained piano player having studied over 17 years starting at age 6. And, not immodestly CAN play. Loved the harp arrangement you selected if the Chopin Prelude in E minor you used while craft was in flight. Would be happy to play the original for you. I KNOW your frustrations involving the JAX delays, and I heard your pain regarding wanting to transfer out of SLC. BUT - think snd think again about the horrors of commuting, if you, Sam, Murphy, and Nebula continue to reside there. LAX would be your closest point, but is it not super senior? Maybe SEA again due to some good trips - but the commute!!! Always in your corner, snd would love to know some of your schedule when I could ride along with you. After all, I have nothing to do here at home. It is empty now and wish I were up in the air and being paid for it. In my thoughts. Herm

      hi there!! I really appreciate you watching and commenting!
      I can maybe try to explain it in my next vlog? I have one coming out tomorrow so it wouldn’t be that one but maybe the one after that?
      what it comes down to is, in my opinion, poor trip construction and not as much opportunity for layovers.
      with poor trip construction, we have much more “lower time” trips than the other bases I’ve worked at. because of that, you end up having to work (because it’s what you’re given on your schedule) more days out of the month to make up that time. For instance, in Seattle I would have 15-16 days off a month. in slc, i have 13-14 typically. that may not seem like a huge difference but an extra day or two really can make your month feel a lot less chaotic, especially with this job.
      the lack of layover opportunities is kind of just a given. in nyc, obviously the destinations opportunities were almost endless. we have countless intxl layovers there and some great domestics too. with sea, there was a little less but even in Seattle there’s much more intxl (+ a lot more Hawaii layovers) there than in slc. so, that’s more of just a bummer than a real complaint. my biggest “complaint” is the poor trip construction.
      there’s many people around the 1-5 year seniority mark who left slc this summer and transferred to msp/sea due to these issues.
      that being said, there are plenty of FAs who love the slc base. it works for them really well! it just comes down to what you’re looking for.
      hope that helps! xoxx

    Are you a new reserve, I've been on reserve going on almost 2 years, but I can get mixed lines too
    Keep the vlogs up :)

    • @KendraCus
      @KendraCus  Před rokem

      hi there! yes I’m slc based. we have “lines” but have 3-6 days of reserve a month. they’re set on our schedule so we know which days are the reserve versus our line trips. reserve varies for each base but in slc you lose your reserve days at around 4ish years and then you don’t have to worry about your reserve days anymore.
      thanks for watching!!
