The Middle East sure seems divided today. What if in an alternate timeline, it had united as promised? Well, it might not be as hunky dory as you'd hope. Even in peace, there still would be conflict.

nazism aimed to "cleanse" the "aryian germany" from anything that would have undermined its greatness (quoting hitler) ,
Baathism isn't even close to that "objective" , it's about reviving a colonized, divided and exploited nation and putting it back where it belongs on world stage for the values it holds especially on social level (which was kind of what everyone is fighting for , forever probably) , to quote baathist lore:" Immortal is the message of the arabs" (litteral) which loosely translates to "we still have cultural and social values that can help solve humanity's problems and we must act as humanity as a whole depended on our ability to immortalize these values and protecting them from imminent loss either by the commies or the capis , or the racially dogmatized foodchain theorists"..
Zionism on the other hand , is the ideology of the natural supremacy of the jewish people (race and not religion) over all other humans (gentiles) ,and aims to make it a reality by directly engaging anyone who opposes it ( it's kind of the physical manifestation of all the money recolted from financing the bad deeds and businesses around the world)
Zionism , as nazism , claims to be the salvation of a race by reattributing the "original" historical lands to a government /power that is racially and ideologically aligned with their own.
While nazism at first wasn't really set up to be "all about race" , it's through the struggle against their direct opponent (the communists that were majoritarely led by jews) that they emphased the racial notions and the lebensraum ideal (which is exactly what zionism relies upon).
Hitler's nazism is a germanized version of zionism, baathism is how nazism should have been - as baathists never engaged in racial cleansing or anything near and actually baathist beliefs just excludes other races from government but not social life or somewhat citizenship if they abide.

I think that this series generally shows how humble our leaders must be when making decisions. Acting in one's immediate best interest is not necessarily acting in one's long-term interest of any sort. Every choice, or lack of choice, can have monumental and totally unknowable consequences. Meanwhile, some events are basically just baked into the current geopolitical scenario and will happen, in more or less the same form and on the same schedule, no matter what one tries.

The Meiji Restoration overthrew a military dictatorship to install a constitutional monarchy with universal male suffrage.
Baathist ideology's hold on the Arab world was part of what led to the Arab Spring, it was so repressive by nature.
Japanese Nationalism was not kind to the Ainu. Arab Nationalism? That alienates Kurds, Turkics, and potentially even other Bedouin and Mashriqi cultures if the Heshimites are elevated. Breaking News:
      World War XVII (17) started
Nukes are not necessairly bad things. Their effects are indeed terrifying but the deterrent they create has been succesful in preventing a major international military conflict for the past 70+ years. Also: if nukes never came into play we would likely not have Nuclear Power, which, no matter what you think about it, not having it would lead to increased exploitment of non-renewable resources, like oil.
In the end, if nukes weren't invented:
World War 2 will have ended much later, likely between 1947 (at best) or even 1950, because the United States would have needed to invade mainland Japan in order to force its capitulation. And invading a mountainous region inhabited by nationalistic fanatics is not easy.
The Cold War would have gone hot veeeeeery quickly, maybe even with the Berlin Blockade, which would have triggered war between west and east very likely before the United States captured Tokyo.
At that point the Battle of Europe would be mostly between the USSR and the Western Allies, as the newly liberated european countries (like Italy) didn't have the Economic and Military power to engage in another conflict.
      Timeline:
      1945 - WW2 Ends in Europe
      1948 - The Russo-American war starts
1949 - The Communists win in china, Japan surrenders
1950 - Warsaw Pact formed between the USSR, the PRC (Communist China) and the DPRK (North Korea), PATO (Pacific and Atlantic Treaty Organization) formed between the USA, the UK, France, Canada, Australia, New Zeland, Japan and the ROC (Republic of China)

A unified Arab peninsula's history would be intimately bound up with whatever happens with Egypt, and yet you completely ignore Egypt? In our own timeline Gamal Abd El Nasser's Arab Nationalism played a major part in the politics and social movements in the Arab World, and he even participated in a war in Yemen.
Moreover, what happens to the Jewish settler community in the land beyond the Jordan River? Zionism was active before the British back out of their agreements with the Hashemites. Do they find citizenship and a place in the unified Arabia? Or do their Nationalist/Separatist values force them into a confrontation?
Also what the hell does Iran think about this vast neighboring country with plentiful Shia minorities in many pockets?
You've simplified the history of the middle east to it's role as "problem" between the USSR and the USA but the history is so much more complicated. I almost feel this video should be redone.

Full disclosure, I live in the UAE, and we do have these debates all the time about traditions.
As a child, I remember a constant stream of fairs and events that honored our traditions and past, but as time went on, these events start to lessen, and the country's focus becomes more on the future, on technology and advancements.
It isn't that I see it as bad, but I see that it's a shame that we start to forget from where we came from.

And wouldn’t other countries work with the state to help it become successful and make sure it wouldn’t adopt a harmful ideology? Ba'athism talks about the ENTIRE Arab world uniting under a secularist yet religion respecting society (Ba'athist secularism isn't let loose like Western secularism), from Marrakesh in Morocco to Baghdad Iraq under Arab racial nationalism. This is coming from an Arab Ba'athist who read the work of Michel Aflaq, the Christian Syrian founder of the movement.

One thing I noticed in both of these videos is that you brushed over what the US and the European powers would have done with the Jewish population after the second world War. I think it would've changed a big part of your video and made a unified Arabia a lot more unstable from the get go, because it's unsure what they would've done with a potential Israel. Just something to consider I guess. I know it's an older video by this point but I felt like I had to say it.

The power of a True United States of America would be overwhelming but, would end up collapsing quickly do to all the political and cultural differences. A better option would be if the United States allied with the Central powers and obtained Canada by an annex maybe add Cuba and Panama as states. Then if the Dust Bowl was less extreme but, the agriculture lessons learned still happened. For Mexico I got nothing besides them annexing smaller states down south but, they couldn't be much of a power do to all the corruption in their history. South America would be the same except if the USA gave more influence. Which wouldn't happen unless a second war world broke out between major powers. The Caribbean would be influence be sole Superpower in the west. Unless the former Spanish Colonies of South America made a Union but, it could only rival Brazil. Unless South America Industrialized earlier.

Haha, funny, cute and not remotely realistic by any means, especially considering it seems that is the US' FAVORITE place to fuck with and completely run into chaos. Chile, Venezuela, Colombia... even Bolivia & Paraguay at one point. They completely intentionally enjoy thoroughly ruining and sending countries into utter chaos, then pretend they picked great leaders, intentionally fund rebel terrorist groups while giving them guns in order to have them run a coup, while they too infiltrate and screw with various political people in order to implant their pick for leader, only for it without failure ending up in a military junta, and other dictatorships, which then plummet the countries back into further chaos.
Being so ridiculously unrealistic, I find it highly unlikely anyone would find it valuable or fun to try and pretend as if it had even a remote chance of ever happening without military force. That is unless the person happens to somehow be a willfully blind and ignorant US citizen and patriot who of course would then sincerely believe the US "would never be so cruel".
