      Hi, are you running the standard diffs and gearboxes? My tt02 has the same 5900kv motor, and I only run it on 2s, firstly, is it ok running on 4s? I don’t mean about the heat, I mean to make sure the motor doesn’t explode... and, any setup to do for stability? Thanks👍

    • @R53.charlie
      @R53.charlie Před 3 lety +1

      Hi mate, could you reply to my other comment? Thanks

    • @KaizerTest
      @KaizerTest  Před 3 lety +1

      @@R53.charlie Sorry brother I just saw this comment. The 5900kv motor can take 4s but only like 2 passes then let it cool just to be safe. On 3s you can get away with a few more but it's always best to check the motor temperature after every couple of runs. Best to just be safe and let it cool for 10-15 minutes after every couple of passes. If it feels just warm you can get away with another pass.
      As for diffs my car is a TT02RR so it has fluid filled diffs but really standard greased diffs are fine. Just put some thicker oil in there like 500,000 weight or 1 million. It should be kinda like gum. Because they are greased diffs and not sealed fluid ones like mine you have to put a very thick fluid in so it doesn't leak out. Don't put lockers in because it will only make it drift and lose traction. You should still be able to turn the diff a little.
      For stability all my car has is 2.5 degree rear castor blocks so there is 2.5 degrees of toe in at the rear wheels. On the front you want some toe OUT. You can play with this setting to find what makes your car "lock in" and go straight as it goes past 50mph. You dont want an extreme amount of toe out because then the front wheels will plow and you will lose speed but a little visible toe out will make it go straight at speed. Any other things you need help with let me know mate. 👊😀

      @@KaizerTest thanks for the help mate, I’ve screenshotted that so that I don’t ever lose it😂 with tyres, can 30mm contact foams fit on it? Mine has still got 24mm wide tyres, and they’re not that grippy, mine is an 02r, so it has standard diffs, but bearings, metal driveshafts etc... I also have the 3 degree toe in aluminium uprights on the back because they come with the kit, I’m gonna have to stiffen up both my diffs🤔 also, I still run nimhs not even lipos, but I have a 70mph rustler running 2x 7.2v nimhs that is crazy, but I can’t really fit 2 batteries in a tt02, nowhere to Cable tie it in! So I might have to think about another option😅, also, I can’t run 3s because I use nimhs like I said, so it’s either 7.2v or 14.4v😂😂 so it’s either not that quick or crazy🤣 I have a McLaren p1 gtr shell, but I still need to fit the wing which should give it more downforce, and maybe some contact foams, then it will be good🤔 my car has toe out on the front anyway as it comes with the steering turnbuckles, but I don’t think there’s much else to do🤔🤔 edit: also, have you got Instagram? I think I’ve just seen your account? With 11 followers? Or is that an impostor?😂

    • @KaizerTest
      @KaizerTest  Před 3 lety +1

      @@R53.charlie I ran 26mm contact foams and 30mm will fit but it depends on how wide your body is. My body is a Deltaplastik Porsche 962 and it has enough width. As for batteries I would switch to Lipo's so you can run 3s. There are thin light 3s batteries and they are pretty cheap on Amazon. Only like $30. Nimh are too heavy especially running 2. Also you need to have fairly stiff suspension. so put some spacers in or get the Tamiya hard spring set alnk.to/4MttsWR
      And that is my Instagram...lol. No impostor...hahaha. I don't spend a lot of time on Instagram but I may start uploading there more. I'm also on facebook.

      Thanks Eric. The metal gears are GPM off ebay. And the steel spur gear is from a guy that makes them also off ebay.
      Yeah that bugged me too that guys were so secretive about their cars setup. I guess its bragging rights they are protecting....lol. I like to share my knowledge because these parts aren't cheap. I wasted a lot of money figuring out what works. Id rather help people save a few bucks as well.

    I really appreciate you taking the time to put all the links in the description. I'm thinking about setting my tt02 up for some local drag racing so I am definitely going to have to pick up the steel GPM gear set for all the hard launches.

    • @KaizerTest
      @KaizerTest  Před 3 lety

      Yes for sure you will need the steel diff gears. Probably just for the back end. I left the front diff stock on my TT02B Dual Ridge and I put Traxxas Rally tires on it(bigger). The rear diff broke but the front was ok under hard use on 3s. Once I put the steel diff gears and steel spur in then the gears were bulletproof. The steel spur gear you can find on Ebay.

      No problem. The stock TT02 gears are a bit weak but for speedrunning work ok. Also the where the steering attaches to the chassis is a bit weak. One slam into a curb and the chassis gets wrecked. But I have fixed with epoxy. The blue chassis handles crashes very well.

    An extremely well made and informative video-thank you. I only have 1 TT02 , the R version, which i plan to upgrade further,much along the lines you have. Getting some of the parts outside of Northern America will be a challenge but I thank you for providing part numbers. I think the greatest difficulty with any speed runs is the location and condition of the road surface,far more than any mods to the car,even without the traffic at the moment.

    I purchased an all aluminum tt02 chassis. Everything is upgraded to aluminum except the spur covers. I am going to add the 2.5 up-rights to the rear after your tip. I also purchased the Tamiya high speed 68T spur and I bought two sets of pinions ranging from 19T to 26t. I plan on trying them out and seeing what each will do. Your video gave me some relief as I am an amateur and I researched and searched countless different videos and forums. I also purchased a hobbyfans S3650 3500KV. I wasn’t sure if it would fit the tt02. I also have the adjustable motor mount. But again. Your KV is double mine and I guess, mine will be more accelerated? Not so much top speed? I also got the Esc 80AMP from hobbyfans and program card. Then last I got the injora 12KG low pro servo. I am still waiting for the chassis to start building and testing it. I’m new to the sport and I’m in love with it already. I subscribed and I hope I can communicate with you further as I progress for tips and advice? It would be much appreciated. Thanks again! P.S Also purchased remote and receiver a P32s. Pretty nice. I also have Zee 2s lIPO batteries and charger. I have also purchased all the tools and a set with 700 some pieces. Mostly after my last crash I borrowed some parts. I'm going to get it back together though. I may do some videos on how to make a 100mph Slash 4x4 using the high center of gravity chassis that most people have and trying to keep it economical. Basically like my very first speed run Slash which is the orange corvette body in my vids and the blue truck body(same Slash underneath). I was able to get it to 93mph with a 3670 sized motor and the stock motor mount location. The reason I didn't hit 100 was I was using a 45c battery. The motor was kinda weak too. With a bigger motor and stronger batter 100mph would be easy. Now I'm at 132mph on my current Slash and looking towards 150. 🤞😃

I will make some videos of my own repairing my RC's when i fix them.

      @@cjchannel12RC Thanks brother. Yeah the shocks and driveshafts are weak spots on the Slash and most Traxxas cars. I was jumping my sons Ruster and doing high back flips and the shock caps always came off and I bent shock rods. I bought some cheapish aluminum bigger bore shocks off Amazon and so far so good. The Rustler driveshafts are thicker and will hold up better. The good thing about the Slash is the tires aren't that big to put stress on the axles.

    • @KaizerTest
      @KaizerTest  Před 3 lety +1

      Stay with the self tapping screws. They work just fine. Be careful not to overtighten them. Just screw them in until you see or feel the head is at the bottom. Then just a very light snug. If you do strip one you can cut off the end of a small zip tie and feed it in the hole. Then put the screw back in. This gives just enough tightness for the screw to grip the inside the hole again.

    • @KaizerTest
      @KaizerTest  Před 3 lety +1

      70mph is pretty good brother. 😃🍺🍺 They are hard to get to go straight for sure. You need foam tires which I think you already do if you hit 70. You also need adjustable steering links so you can add some toe OUT to the front tires. Not a lot but definitely toe out. For the rear you need toe IN so you need some 2.5 degree rear hubs/uprights so the rear tires have toe in. Make sure the suspension is stiff as well. And I don't use much AVC at all. Too much and the rear end will wobble at higher speeds. The biggest things are foam tires, rear toe in and front toe out. Hey...leave a comment on my latest vid and enter in my giveaway. Just say I want in on that vid. It's the WLtoys vid.

      One thing I forgot to mention is my Spektrum DX5C radio and the RadioLink RC6GS radio have exponential for steering. So in the middle part of the steering the steering response is very minimal. This helps so you don't over correct steering inputs on your speed run. A lot of guys dont even use this but I find it helps me. Also Perfect Pass might help you with throttle control.

    • @KaizerTest
      @KaizerTest  Před rokem

      I use the gyro that's in my receivers but to be honest all you need is a little toe OUT on the front and use either exponential on the radio to lessen the response in the middle travel of the servo or lower your rates right down before you do a speed pass. A gyro just introduces a speed wobble at high speed. The toe OUT on the front is more important. And maybe 2-3 degree's of toe in on the rear.
