  • 2023 Rattle Chapbook Prize winner George Bilgere, his wife, and his two exceptionally fine little boys spend the school year in Cleveland, Ohio, because living in Cleveland builds character. In the summers the family heads off to Berlin, Germany, where the kids study German while George does important research on beer gardens. He’s the author of eight collections of poetry and shows no signs of slowing down.

Dang... Thank you, Tim and Rattle magazine for doing these. I've got a lot to consider this week going forth writing and reading poetry. I wouldn't even know who this man is without having got his chapbook from you guys. Thank you

Posting here since I had to leave early. I Loved Ryan McCarty's poem, George Bilgere with Tim was fantastic (the chapbook + is also fantastic) and the prompt lines were full of great poetry once again. Lastly, can't wait for Katie and Tim's forthcoming book! The Haibun and Haiku - both - were wonderful. I almost feel guilty for all I gain from the gift of RATTLE!!

To me it when I'm thinking about the poem and sometimes when I come up with a line and I be like yes this will be the perfect ending
