  • In another times forgotten space
Your eyes looked from your mother's face
Wallflower seed on the sand and stone
May the four winds blow you safely home
    Roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
I'll tell you where the four winds dwell
In Franklin's tower there hangs a bell
It can ring, turn night to day
It can ring like fire if you lose your way
    Roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
God save the child that rings that bell
It may have one good ring baby, you can't tell
One watch by night, one watch by day
If you get confused listen to the music play
Some come to laugh their past away
Some come to make it just one more day
    Whichever way your pleasure tends
If you plant ice you're gonna harvest the wind
    Roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
I'll tell you where the four winds sleep
Like four lean hounds the lighthouse keep
Wildflower seed on the sand and wind
May the four winds blow you home again
    Roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
    Roll away the dew
You'd better roll away, roll away the dew

Yes . . My brother was at Cornell
      . . incidentally , my Mom's birthday . .
Anyhow . . my brother was way up front . . general admission . . and had three green 🟢 🟢 🟢 . . yeah . . probably about that size . . and become very claustrophobic . . due to the crowd bearing down . . then Bobby said . . take a step back . And another step back . . things got better after that !!
When the show let out . . it had snowed over six inches !!
This was in May and people were in tee shirts . . in Ithaca . . and many needed to travel from there . .
So . . No surprise that next night was also great in Buffalo.
I got to see them three times in 1977 . . Friday and Saturday a week before at The Palladium in N.Y.C. . . and then Englishtown . .
My friends and I were hanging around on 13th Street behind the Palladium after the show and were eventually greeted by Bob Weir , who was in the front passenger seat , next to the driver of a white 1970 Cadillac limousine . He rolled the window down and we spoke for a few minutes . The girls from High School were crying afterward , and could not be consoled .
Who was in the back of the limo ,
      I'm not sure . . Jerry . .other band members . . Perhaps (?) . .I'll never know !!

Funny thing I've noticed -- if u look @ UTube music comments, it's truly amazing how many ppl just happened to be born @ EXACTLY the right time to be coming of age in the era of the VERY BEST MUSIC EVER -- EVERY epoch both b4 AND after that decade (or less!) is just trash. SO lucky they r, to have chosen THAT PRECISE TIME at which to be born! And... there's a similar pattern among some Deadheads. Probably just coincidental...
(For what it's worth -- I, too, feel that this is the Dead's best era -- but that's abt when I 1st encountered them, too... So I'm no different.)
