    Oh, my, god, you are a miracle worker - this is like the one thing I've always struggled with in Revit and because you started from square #1, I understood it in one go. Thank you!!!

      However, A.V. i needed the sweep standing up ( I'm trying to make a custom shelf bracket ). Any follow up video about that?

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  Před 3 lety

      I am so happy to hear that and glad you were able to learn. I believe you always have to start with square 1 or else you might lose people.

      Given that you know how to do sweep, I would say go to a front elevation or any elevation for that matter and draw the sweep instead of a plan. You could also change the workplane if you want to draw it in 3D.

    I am a beginner to Revit. I can see how to "load" a profile, but how do I save/create a profile to load later

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  Před 2 lety

      You would want to go to file, create, new family and select just profile or the specific type of profile template you want to use. It's just a family at that point that can be loaded in and used in models.

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  Před 3 lety +2

      That is unfortunately a core part of sweeps, that cannot be changed. You might need to make multiple model elements to achieve a different result.

    How do I save the Sweep created as a family so I can use it on another project? Every time I am doing a new project I have to create a new Sweep... and it is frustrating at times.

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  Před 3 lety

      When you go to file new family, you can save it as a family anywhere you want. Once you are done making the sweep, you can save it and load it into your project. If you want to use it in another project, simply open the family where it is then load it into another project. Or you could use the insert family from the insert tab in that other project.

    Hi - thank you for this video. I am trying to make a thickened concrete slab (beam) - do you have any tips? or an email that I could ask you more questions in?

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  Před 3 lety

      You might consider a structural floor, either that or placing concrete beams under floors would work. But if you have more questions, I would recommend my forum. Start a question and we can talk there. Others will be able to benefit from the answer too.
