India has a unique style in its architecture, which makes it distinctive among many common styles around the world.

As Chris Christie stated on TV, the other night, "there are no bad opinions." (At least, not in a truly civilized society.) So, I have mixed feelings about the Trump Phenomenon. On the one hand, some of his policies seemed to work--the economy was thriving and we had become energy-plentiful. Biden comes in and cancels the Keystone Pipeline! I could not believe that. But overall, our U.S. economy has held its own, such that things might not be too bad, come November, 2024. I lean conservative, even socially conservative, but I do not feel threatened, particularly, by all the woke hysteria. LIVE AND LET LIVE.

"A partner, not a pawn." This should go without saying, vis-a-vis a great and noble country like India. Since I've left the plant, I've not heard from my friend from Hyderabad, Hari. After my divorce he offered to help me, even financially. It was not necessary, but this gesture in itself was very generous, and I'll not forget it. He was a liberal and didn't care for Modi. I could not understand this; Modi had received very good press here in the States. I liked this man. I like the fact that he claims to meditate daily. As things have gone on, my first impressions were right--he has been doing some good and continues to do good for India, showing exemplary leadership, even if so-called "nationalistic." Great leaders will always be hated by some, or even many. As for the China/India atipathy, Hari did not go into details about it. It was just a given--China, for many, is the enemy of India. Hari explained to me that India is traditionally close to Russia. At this time, four years ago, I'd just started watching CGTN, and had become fascinated by all things Chinese, including its "expanionist-in-chief" leader, Xi. I'm enjoying watching Palki Sharma; she is so brilliant, and pleasant to look at, also. So I'm more than open to hearing India's side of this no-doubt thousands-years rivalry between India and China.

I admire Chinese Traditional, especially Confucius, but also the Buddha and Taoism. These are my main interests, not politics. The USA is a relatively shallow country, in terms of its spirituality. But what can it do? On the world stage, it is an adolescent, at best. I mean, compared to the thousands and thousands of years, for example, that lie behind the knowledge of Vedanta. What it can do is to share its material success--and not be jealous of China, or anyone--and humble itself before its spritual superiors. And learn some moderation. And learn to cooperate in a world that is developing quickly, based on human dignity and digital technology, and learning to assert its own unique needs and great expectations.
