The downside of the loop being on the outer belt is when it runs out, you're forced to buy an expensive outer belt as opposed to a cheap inner. Trade-offs, but a nice belt overall
Our team recently switched over to Ferro products for plate carriers and belts. The Bison is probably the closest product to this one and also a great choice.

They made some test and the belt holds a lot of weight! If I'm not mistaken there is a clip on CZcams with them talkabout this

I prefer running the Bison belt With HRT's inner belt. That unique feel won me over, ultimately getting me to switch from GBRS's setup.
