As someone who has zero personal interaction with the crucible, I have no choice but to believe that all of these nerfs were specifically due to Hynra.
No it’s due to strand titan being absolutely busted in PvE content. The shooting was changed to prevent people from easily combining one two punch with strand titan, you can still do it but you have to be much faster now.
@nicholasevans5518 they LITERALLY said the change was also to stop people from "easily" flying around a corner, shooting you once with something like a hand cannon, and grapple meleeing you. Learn to read

I would like to point out that, in a good number of the kills in this video, Hynra shoots AFTER the grapple melee, which hasn't been changed. Hynra still flies, he's just got his wings clipped a lil

They wanted strand Hunter to be movement then take it away, they wanted strand warlock to be the summoner and even named them broodweaver yet they are better at suspending and hunters can summon more threadlings, this game is just backwards

Like combo's aside, this change is gonna make grapple feel super clunky in both pve & pvp.
This is what i mean.. If you can hit an enemy midair at mach 5, then chain the melee grapple to secure the kill, thats entirely fair by me, since:
You actually hit me while going that fast and being mid air (remember, Airborne Effectiveness exists and its a bitch), bonus points for being the head
It came at the cost of your grenade ability, which will take some time to recharge.
If the enemy team saw you coming from miles away and decided to do nothing about it, thats on them. I do the same shit and most of the times i get headshotted while being in the air or blasted through with every smg/autorifle you can think of, only to be followed up by the normie punch the moment i come close to my enemies. Or straight up swatted with a shotty.
But no, lets nerf this anyway. "too obnoxius", as if the infinite amount of overshileds or health regen dominating the crucible aint obnoxius at all, right? Right.
Like the combo just is for fun basically, it’s not really an optimal thing at all because of how risky it is, and of course he’s literally using a Glaive lol. This combo is def way harder to pull off than a sniper shot

@nicholasevans5518 it takes significantly less effort to hit a shoulder charge than to do any of the grapple grenade shenanigans especially with peregrine greaves spam. Don't be disingenuous.
Fwiw I think the nerf is more because of pve even though they mention pvp too.

Bungie wants you to lane at the back of the map with your pulse and other team mates, solely because dads cant understand how abilities/special work. You will join them, even if they have to strip the most fun sandbox interactions completely out of the game (in pve and pvp).

I remember seeing Cammy posting about how this change was a long time coming, with how they remove the ability to slide>shoot>power melee, the stuff eith grapple melee was the only thing really left that did something similar.
Personally im sad that tech gets removed, as stuff like this is always fun to pull off.
I find its a shame that bungie decides to lower the skill ceiling of the game.
Even if im not able to reach those heights, them being there is a big motivation for me as a player.

However, I would like to know your opinion of the semi recent nerfs to bows and now the grapple melee nerf.
I say this because I love to watch your playstyle and videos when you post and I find it a shame that it seems your style has been nerfed consistently when it seems like a relatively high skill ceiling to get the clips that you pull off. Hope you have a good day or night ;p
was thinking to make these videos but idk just not seem my kind of content, just wanna play and collect clips. If I didn't ended up making one just know I'm relatively neutral with any changes bungie makes, I just play the game and adapt to whatever it turns to be as long as I enjoy it still.

I'm kinda in a weird spot on it as I'm getting alot more snap skaters in crucible now and while they're moving fast as fuck they cannot aim like 70% of the time made going flawless pretty easy but god I hate hearing the sound que every 5 seconds

Look, if they're gonna remove the ability to do the slide, shoot, shoulder charge combo, then it only makes sense to apply the same brakes to the grapple melee
Maybe it will still work like shoulder charge, i've gotten plenty(like 20) of shoot then shoulder charge kills after the nerf, and i'm not even a titan main
@@eliot58 If I'm being honest, I think they should both be allowed or neither. Stuff like that takes some skill, but not so much skill that it's impossible to pick up. As long as each class has access to tech like that (in the case of grapple, they all do), it should be fine

It's weird nerf. I only play pvp and have never had anyone do that or even seen it. Pretty sure Hynra is the only one who even does it.

What's really funny is the nerf was mainly probably because of combining 1-2 Punch with the Grapple Melee dealing more damage than a lot of heavies, which means this is one of those rare cases where a PvE nerf effected PvP as well.

Hynra single handedly getting all of strand hunter nerfed in the crucible.
First it was bow body shots, that did not stop him.
Now it's the ability to shot your gun while in the air and still be able to punch + the suspend dive getting smaller in crucible.
Stay tuned for Aggressive Frame Glaives getting their damage nerfed in PvP to unusable numbers to counter the 'punch then shoot' strategy, and hipfire grip being removed from the game. XD
(May Hynra still never stop flying though)

Bungie telling us that they nerf things based on usage and not relative power is complete bullshit and this is a fantastic example of that. Well of radiance got a strict BUFF in PvP. Neutral overshields are unchanged, igneous is unchanged, conditional finality is unchanged. But strand grapple? Most oppressive mechanic, obviously.

I think it’s a frustrating nerf when you consider how high the skill ceiling is on this sort of gameplay. It amazes me that they nerf a build that is so difficult to play but then let the braindead void titan build continue to be oppressive
This won't slow you down in the slightest. You couldn't be stopped with the checkmate changes, and you sure as hell won't be stopped by this. All the grapple+glaive combos, the glaive+bow combos, the grapple *then* bow combos, all that will still be full strength. They can try, but they can't stop you! I look forward to the future montages, this one is as much of a banger as the last.

For years this was only an issue with titan’s and their melee lunge distance that would teleport them back and forth a few feet making them impossible to shoot. Now it’s half the mfs in crucible.

There are some nades (like the void one) that can just one shot you. I dont understand why bungie would nerf this, if you got clapped by this you deserved to. Its not hard to counter, all you need is a shot gun.

I hate when bungie uses something as an excuse for a dumb nerf. The excuse, strand titan in PvE is broken, so we are nerfing grapple points mainly used by hunters with the aspect! Also, now you cant melee after shooting, since titans can still shoot after a graple melee as they do rn... if they wanna nerf something, nerf handling after the melee! They wanna nerf skill to the point that everyone's grandma can play PvP at a high lvl while blindfolded...
