My wifes uncle had surgery on his lower intenstine because of that. He cleaned the grill with a old wire brush and one of the brissles got stuck in a burger he made. Im pretty sure they removed part of his lower intenstine

How has that outdoor gourmet academy sports grill treating you? I had the 5 burner for about 6 years, but it started rusting. My dad has the 6 burner, and it rusted much sooner than 6 years.

the toothbrush style brushes are crap anyway, always have been. if the bristles don't fall out they still clog and collapse into a pile of greasy crap. The wound bristle brushes work 10x better, clean easy, and the bristles don't fall out..but still go over it with some foil, or newspaper, or an onion, just in case and for final small debris removal.

SOOO why not just use the grill brush first, and then follow up with the aluminum ball, to take off any of those pieces that get left behind. BTW, I've been using one of those brushes for YEARS, and have not had 1 single bristle in my food.
