We did our first Lifestyle visit in October, and I think we stayed in the same place you have in the video. Loved the layout, and we had to jiggle the toilet handles too, lol. The only thing we didn’t like about that location was the lights at night. We live way out, about 4 minutes from the nearest town of 400 people, so lights at night are strange to us. I’m sure that’s not the case for most people. That said, I definitely didn’t want to go back to the Northern Wisconsin winters and am looking forward to the fun day when we can be the dreaded snowbirds in the Villages. There was so much to do and so many activities to keep busy all day.
funny you mentioned the lights...I noticed that right away also. I'm a light sleeper and I like the darkness at night. looking forward to the day we can escape the NH winters also. We really liked all the activities there as well.
Dual zone HVAC in such a small house? I think you will find these homes are very energy efficient and electricity is (relatively to the northeast) cheap; you could add a mini split unit to your bedroom to cool it off more if you want, but it would take a long time to recoup the $5K price. My 1600 sq ft stucco designer I keep 70 at night and 72 or 73 during the day and my electric bill maxed out at $170 last summer; usually closer to $120. I never shut off the bedroom ceiling fan; helps keep the bathroom dried out. Glad you had a great time and see you when you come again!
Never had a dual zone, never heard of them until you said you were disappointed. Don’t see the purpose of it with ceiling fans everywhere and the size of the villa or a home in the villages. If you enclose the patio. You can put a air con in it for year round temperature, but the expense of 2 zones furnace I would image would be more than the electric bill ever would. Glad you had a good time.
Great videos. I'm going down for my second visit in January from Massachusetts. Was the home you stayed in near the turnpike and, if so, how was the highway noise?
thank you. no our house wasn't near a highway. like you, we are concerned about that also which seems to be a complaint of others who moved near one. hope you enjoy your stay
Hi. When I had my life style visit. It was in that area but 1900 sq/ft with a much bigger lanai and yard but no view. A courtyard villa. I also asked about dual zones but was told many people just installed a mini split. That does make more sense because I only want that room to be cooler at night when sleeping. How big was your house? It looked much smaller.
We go on our visit soon. This video makes me happy that our toilet seats are always down in our home and I never have to remind my husband to do so. I’m guessing you left it up for housekeeping reasons but I always find seeing the raised toilet seat off putting. 😆
I’m 76 and *fascinated* with the interest in The Villages. I wonder if coming from a colder climate is the big issue. I’m from Southern California. I lived in a gated community in Orlando once for 8 months. I couldn’t *wait* to get out of FL. ...and that was *before* DeSantis! I’m not sure one week in the colder months is going to give anyone a very representative impression of what they’re in for living in that hot humid climate and homogenous population with the growing risk of hurricanes in a changing climate with super storms.
A lifestyle visit can’t give you even a small fraction of how wonderful it is to live here. I moved here in June 2020 and LOVE IT MORE everyday. It’s sooo wonderful in The Villages that finding a vacation itinerary is tough- few vacation places are as fun, number and variety of EVERY ACTIVITY possible and easily accessible with a golf cart!!
You don’t need dual zones in any of the homes- we have ceiling fans that work great - if additional cooling needed! Much of the year - we don’t even use air conditioner- even in the summer- we typically turn it off in the evening and open up the sliding glass doors and enjoy the fresh air. We made sure our lanai faced north and the west side was blocked from the sun- meaning the lanai and the air coming in to the house is much cooler year round. Once you live here, you will be able to truly relax into The Villages lifestyle and really enjoy life!!
@@ellynrobison4629 Lifestyle visit prices vary on the time of year. In the winter months they are about $199 per night. Summer rates are about $99 per night. The Villages sales office can give more information.
I thought the lifestyle visit was so you could go enjoy the outside at the villages not critique somebody else's house I mean you're not there to buy that house if you want your own house you buy it and have it done the way you want but the lifestyle visit is for everything the village has on the outside. Enjoy

this house is 1500 sq ft
We live in a larger designer home, and don’t have duel heating, and don’t need it.

Is there an age requirement for a lifestyle visit? I’m 47.
not sure. check thevillages.com for info. you can always call them

Was the Lifestyle visit free? If not how much did you pay? Can you give me the name of the realtor?

I do not like the floors!
Good to know, said no one.

Cute little house, but very small.
Did you have to sit through a long sales pitch like they have for time shares? Sound like you had a low pressure private presentation.
no. nothing like that at all
