  • On the 55th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing Jonathan Weinberg of Drawing with Fountain Pens reviews the Apollo 11 Fountain Pen created for the Smithsonian in 2009 to mark the 40th Anniversary. The novelty pen was a bargain on Ebay and seems similar to many Chinese pens and yet it has a kitschy charm. He talks about how the pen reminded him of his childhood when he watched the landing on television.

As I said in the video it writes poorly. Unfortunately, I am traveling and the short video I did of the writing sample did not record properly so I did not add it, but take my word for it, it is not the kind of pen you buy to write with, nor draw with. It is meant to be a collectable, not a pen to use to journal with... In general review videos where people write a few sentences really don't show you much about how a pen writes. You need to try it yourself, or at least listen to what the reviewer says about the writing experience gleaned from many days of living with the pen.
