The boy wrote a song in the bedroom, he was a backup, and then he won Dora. He literally stepped from his bedroom onto the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest. I believe he will miss his cat while he is in Malmö. 🐈😸💯🎉

This is not a Riverdance, this is a traditional Croatian dance from the part of Istria where he is from!
Istria is an amazing place, with it's long interwoven history blending Italian, Croatian, and a dash of nearby Slovenian culture. The famous TV chef Lidia Bastianich is a native of Pula, but with more Italian background than Slavic. But she is also a brillaint representative of the fire of Istrian culture.

I actually don't mind when others call it Riverdance. It is wrong, but still similar enough. There are just so many moves you can do before two unrelated cultures do the same dance. Also Irish are cool people.

Dear, the sleeves are part of Croatian folklore wear and they weren't invented by Kaarija. They go back 100s of years.

Käärijä did not invent such sleeves, they are part of our traditional Croatian costume so I agree that it will not be an issue :)

Slažem se sa oboma. S obzirom da je dečku glava na mjestu, mislim da će donijeti odluku koja će biti najbolja za njega.
But Käärijä did use them in a performance prior, and very close to this one. Combined with the almost same type of music, it's threading the dangerous line of plagiarism. I wish him the best but this simply aint it, feels almost forced.

His sleeves are a tribute to traditional Croatian culture, not the copy Finland last year. I honestly don't see a lot of similarities between the two songs but I understand others may.

We made it🎉🎉🎉😺😺. First time in my life that my country has a song which is 100% sure Q for the final and potential winner. He got 247 televote points, while runner up in televote got 27. Absolutely INSANE. But Italian international jury gave him ZERO!!! points. What are they tried? To tank him not to win?😂😡.They embarrassed themselves.😂😂😂
I do understand it because they appreciate the vocals so much. Italy's representatives have always great vocals.

I mean these sleeves are actually authentic because they are part of the national/folk costume, I like the music, especially drums and vocals far more than last year's Finland, choreography is 10/10

Italian jury gave Baby Lasagna 0 points in Jury votes. Italian jury directly trying to undermine the biggest competition they have in ESC 2024 is a very cringe move and I will never forget it. I truly hope it bounces back in their heads and Baby Lasagna wins the ESC 2024.

It was an Italian jury no other Italian ESC fan knew about. I think they did exactly like you suggested but Baby Lasagna could actually get recognition and success here in Italy, too. I am rooting for him as much as I am rooting for Angelina Mango. Next artist I am hyped about is The Netherlands' Joost Klein - whose song is not out yet.

I don't see any Käärijä in him, he's his own wonderful Istrian self. The sleeves are Croatian and his song is rock, not electronic rap metal. If people think it resembles Cha Cha Cha they need to get more out in the world and experience things.

Both him and Karija got the inspiration for their song from the same band that is why some parts are similar
Its not like Kaarija style of dressing , its traditional dress of region of Istria ( Istra on Croatian ) , he wanted to connect this style beacuse of his Region Istria on West of Croatia , he comes from small but beautiful city of Umag ( 14 thousand peoples live there )

It's a METAL SONG in DISGUISE ! Definitely get some early RAMMSTEIN vibes (but also Kärjiää) from this, just pay attention to the rhythm 'guitar' and synth in sync (referring to the music video where you hear it better imv). Love it. My winner so far.

We haven´t heard all of the songs yet, but I think this is definitely winning material. Very catchy and great melody even if not my normal genre of music. Surely, they will make the performance even more polished by May. Yes, it is a bit Käärijä style. That happens often in Eurovion: some songs take from the prvious year´s successful entries. Incompetent jury of Croatian Radio & Television did not want Baby Lasagna at Dora at all. He entered the competition as a reserve, because someone else dropped out.
The song is about young people leaving their home (immigrating to other countries; 400,000 in 10 years) in search of a better life, and anxiety it creates. Yet, the song is litehearted. It was written, and produced solely by Marko Purišić (Baby Lasagna) in his room in Umag, small town, Croatia. First time performing as a singer on a big stage, Marko did great; people of Croatia reacted and gave him the greatest margin of victory ever. With big stage and some improvements, it’s a definite contender.

But as a song Belgium's song is better and he has got a great voice too. It's not my no1 this year but I already like it much more than I ever liked Tattoo
I can maybe see a lil bit why people may think he looks like or better said reminds people of Käärija BUT the song isnt really similar to CHA CHA CHA and those sleeves dont look like the green ones.
Those are part of Croatian fashion back in the day. Although it does remind me personally abit of Baroque and such but I guess every year people will compare someone with someone from the previous year.

This doesn't feel like a joke entrance, the guy is serious just enough to make this an actual song instead of a gimmick. And, as a Finn, I don't mind people taking influences from Käärijä - mimicking is the highest form of compliment, and this performance was doing it well. Maybe less neon green lights at Malmö.
