Tried this art with a Srilankan friend a year ago, loved it, the end result. It was BEAUTIFUL. Though I used Beef, instead of chicken, and cooked for 35 mins, the needed spices were more or less the same as used by Mr. Biceps here. The diffrence was that some of the Coconut water was also used to cook & the method of cooking was a fire trench use age. People go ahead & try, its actually lovely.
Just found this channel and I love it! The food looks great and I love your style of cooking! Open fire cooking and primitive techniques are fantastic ways of cooking food, it gives great flavour teaches us forgotten skills and is just fun to do. Keep the videos and recipes coming pal because there fantastic!
it is truly amazing that we all eat the same foods but it's uniquely different in the ways we prepare it I love the many different cultures we have in the world
Thanks to show cooking chickens in green coconut. I prefer chicken battered with flower, salt and pepper, and deep fried, and also BBQ chickens. Maybe because I am used to having it that way.
I made BBQ watermelon chicken... Its my village specialty from way way south... 1st. take out all the inside of watermelon. 2nd. stuff it with onion, chicken, watermelon, Salt Pepper and your favorite sauce. Ranch, Italian, Hot Fudge, Cool wipe. 3rd. Dig a whole in the backyard near a bunch of trees. 4th. Start a fire. 5th put watermelon in fire and burn the crap out of it so it looks homemade. 6th. dump everything out on a banana-leaf and give it a thumbs up! Next week Roasted Pineapple Chicken - this is a village secret recipe from 20mins up north from the way south side of the village.
It was perfect and satisfying. I loved the aesthetics and the techniques. You nailed it bro. I am desperate to try that myself. continue to be such awesome always. :)
You have mad skills, from one chef to another, your food looks amazing. Roasting the chicken inside the coconut shell is ingenious. Would have loved to try it.
Greetings of Peace and Light. That's one of the ways warriors and hunters cooked in ancient Asia. They also used bamboo, clay, banana leaves, lotus leaves, watermelons, etc. Traveling light. Not beer cooler bags nor can openers. Thanks for uploading.
Super Cool. Thank You so very much for adding the ingredient list. The best cooks measure by eye. Glad to be learning from the best. Terri St John US Virgin Island.

@Best Food Village : HI , First off Loved this video !!! It took me back to my camping days .I am thinking of trying this out soon . i have some questions : 1) how long did u marinate the chicken with masala before putting it inside the coconut ? 2) how much time does it take to cook it once we put it on the fire 3) Did you cover the coconut top with betel (pan) leaf ?
+Puja Bhattacharya HI puja ji 1. Marinate it for 3 two to 4 H 2. Actually I didn't added masala If you mix this with garam masala it will be more delicious ( You can add butter ). 3.after putting chicken in coconut once again leave it for another 1hour to settle the chicken inside. 4.I sealed those coconuts with sal tree leaf you can cover it with any kind of eatable leaf's. 5. Finally put it on fire for at least 40 minutes minimum.
