👋😃WELCOME TO THE AMAZING WORLD OF PENTATONIX (Penta-tonix or PTX) the name comes from pentatonic 5 melody music scale.
This group is THE MOST SUCCESSFUL A Capella group EVER! They won season 3 of the Acapella televised singing competition The Sing Off in 2011. PTX has gone on to to 3 Grammys multi Platinum award winning group. The members are back row left to right:
👉Mitch Grassi sings counter tenor (Changes his look A LOT! So don't get confused it ALWAYS Mitch.)
👉Scott Hoying (blonde guy) sings baritone, bass, falsetto. Very soulful king of riffs and runs.
👉Kirstie (Kirstin) Maldonado sings mezzo soprano, alto (Changes her look A LOT! don't get confused it's ALWAYS Kirstie)
👉Avi Kaplan (Ah-vee) (beard slicked back hair) sings bass/basso profundo, baritone, overtone. Avi was a member from 2011 to the end of 2017.
👉Kevin Olusula is the beatboxer, tenor, cello
👉......Matt Sallee (not in this video) replaced Avi as bass, baritone in late 2017.

Welcome to the rabbit hole! There is simply no way to listen to just one PTX song. This is probably the most diverse group you will ever listen to. I think their motto is "leave the ego at the door." In 10 years they have had only one personnel change and that was without hard feelings from anyone, only sadness. I always encourage new reactors to please react to John Lennon's Imagine to see what the band believes.
As a senior who is closer to 80 than to 70, I just want to let you know that fans of all ages and stages will follow.
So glad to see you check out Pentatonix. Home Free won season 4 off the NBC show The Sing Off, Pentatonix won season 3. Pentatonix fan base also has a self titled name called Pentaholic's. 1 down, 260+ more to go.

I’ve been watching your Home Free reactions and just came upon this Pentatonix reaction. Glad you found Pentatonix looking forward to seeing more reactions and you’ve gotten lots of great recommendations from other people here. Just one thing to be aware of SME, their record label is very serious about copyright protections, especially on the official videos, so you might want to make the video semi transparent to avoid getting burned by that.

There is one more spectacular A Capella group, Voice Play. After doing some more Pentatonix, please check them out too. Voice Play's bass singer Geoff Castelucci has some absolutely mind blowing solos. Pentatonix, Home Free, and Voice Play are very much worth reacting to.

You are amazing as is this group. I heard you mention Home Free and this band won the televised singing competition called the Sing Off the season before Home Free. In fact, season 4 they were mentors for Home Free. Both bands know each other well. The original bass for PTX who is in this one, Avi (pronounced Ah-Vee) Kaplan has been featured in a couple of the Home Free videos. Avi has a super solo career and both he and Tim Foust are in Nashville. Pentatonix has 3 Grammy wins. The first is Daft Punk(medley) which was filmed in Avi and Kevin Olusola's (beatboxer) apartment, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy ( no words,,,no problem said PTX) and a collaboration with Dolly Pardon of Jolene. They are each ultra-talented, a diverse group and pure magic. Their video of Hallelujah has over 660 million views. Out of this world. They also perform it live if you prefer that. In general, Pentatonix covers all genres (including rap) with their style being mostly pop music. Home Free has more of a country/folk style and Voice Play is more theatrical and dramatic covering action/adventure gaming, and Disney. For a start on your acapella journey, I would recommend checking out their playlists and picking songs you know and like. Enjoy!

Avi the Bass left the group back in 2017 on good terms. Matt is their Bass now he is incredible also you will see him in newer video's. I could recommend so many but I think just pick one, you can't go wrong.

As for the music... don't know if you noticed but this song was filmed all in one take like all their "evolution" videos (there are several).
