    Really fascinating insight. Was quite looking forward to the Harold Hobson bit but we didn't get that far!

    A Very Peculiar Practice was a brilliant satire on Thatcher's Britain. TV never got better than this.

    Had he written Pride and Prejudice by then? It was a good long time in the filming. Before it came out, there was a fuss in the papers (no doubt helped along by Andrew Davies himself) about Mr. Darcy in the bath. Although this passed without notice, and everyone always talks about him in his wet shirt.
    Quite right about RF Delderfield, by the way. A great disappointment after watching the serial on tv.
