Attended to this Play at the GOODMAN THEATRE in Chicago, way Back on '92-'93 Season .... LOVED IT COMPLETELY !!!!!
And now he's lecturing the audience about recording. And telling them to be orderly if they have to evacuate for an emergency. And pointing out the entrances they just walked through.
Who ruins the opening of a play with an announcement? Dim the lights, play the music, lift the curtain and start the play properly. Oh, now he's telling the audience about intermissions. Really stupid.
The actual play starts with the news reading at 6:00.
live plays always have announcements at the beginning.
