- Renato Cardone of Lake Elsinore, California shows us his custom 1929 Ford Model A that he built in his garage in the hot rod style, but that has the patina of a rat rod. Driving video shot with the GoPro Hero 3+.
I love it! It's simple, basic, built to a budget to be enjoyed. Thanks for sharing it with us!
pure and simple not overdone to the eye. I love what you've built ... a very stunning pickup.. oozes cool !
I agree Alex!
One of the best videos showing a fantastic ride
What an awesome ride !!! You did a killer job man
excellent, talented, humble. love your voice and explanations. you should be proud. thank you.
Like a nice middle aged lady, built with good parts, simple, reliable, not too loud, beautiful patina, fun to be with, not too expensive and often admired by enthusiasts. And he, the builder, knows every intimate detail.... nicely done!
Very impressive ride. You sir are definitely a great craftsman. Truck looks great.
Going to car shows I love seeing nice shiny hot rods, but I find myself looking at these old rat rods, giving old stuff new life.
I wouldn't have chopped it. But every man or women who builds a car has to do it there way. that's what makes it unique. I'm not criticizing you. I gave you a thumbs up. beautiful car. keep building. your a very talented man. hope to see another build. Thanks for the video really enjoyed it. good luck to you.
I'm not a big an of Rat Rods, but this one caught my eye. Guess it's the lack of all the non-essential ornaments that some builders insist on hanging all over their builds. The simplicity, neatness and use what you got attitude of the build is refreshing. That combined with an excellent narration and lack of "headache music" made this an enjoyable video to watch. Thank You
labrd41 was
this guy did really exceptional work so simple and neat, but resourceful.
Amazing build. And for 5k and 8months. Awesome 👍😎
You've built a great car/work of art both in the maintenance of so many original and period fixtures and in creating a machine that is not only functional but well planned and thought through.
Heck of a nice job.You my friend are a true hot rod builder.
That is a pretty cool rod. I love to ride in it.
Nice work. Good video with good walk through by the builder. Nice to see a "rat rod" so to speak without all the stupid rebar spiderwebs and mail box intake scoop etc.
What can I say, awesome, just plain awesome.
Gosh, that motor runs quiet with the home-made muffler system Mr. Cardone created.
Two thumbs up for that Very impressive feature. :-)
Back again. I hope you and your truck are doing well !
You are to be complimented on your build. You say this is your first attempt at building a rod. Well I see a lot more time just thinking of what needed to be done. I've built rods way back in time when all these parts were still readily available and the old farm groves still contained many model A's,-- T's --and B model FORDS! Good Job and now enjoy it!!
Custom Car Channel. WOW!!! The Intro to this Feature is Out Standing The GO Pro Camera Company should give this Production Big Bucks today I'm going for the Hero4 because of this intro for this Video. Excellent Presentation for this Car and Owner. Great Down Load. Thank you.
I have more respect for this guy than the big shops. nice job
Very nicely done!
Great Hot Rod and an awesome video!! Thanks for posting..
WoW! I'm a looker, not a builder, so... I usually find 3 or 4 or more things to criticise- only thing here is the spark plug shifter, a tad cute, but understandable. Everything else- the understanding you put into your first build- Awesome! It really flows and comes together! You seem to have a great understanding of patina and history; thanks for the vid!
Absolutely Awesome....1👍the most important thing I would imagine the little guy loves and has has a blast with a lifetime full of memories....... Priceless
NICE JOB, excellent fabrication and great ideas! Very good video and narrations, thanks for posting and sharing! I hope you and your son have a wonderful time making memories!
i like your truck and how you reused all the old parts
You are a genuine craftsman!!! Great work!
Thank you for a great and inspirational video. I really like the ideas you explained on your car. Not everything has to be big buck.
Who are the dislikes? Speak up. Nothing but awesomeness here.
Very nice little pickup and I admire your style. Clean ! You did a great job on it !

Nice af
You really got creative in using parts and the overall finish looks good. Just wonder how you get this street legal.
Very cool. One question,
Doesn't that steering linkage out front totally screw up the tight turn steering?
I keep coming back to watch this for inspiration. If you would ever sell it, please contact me. Dave Green in Arvada, Colorado
dude!! I love your truck! that is a sweet build, not a rat though! please throw some lap belts in there for the kiddo

My 2011 E450 Super Duty just had a tree land on it...
Looking at 2 '29s, for a grand, right now.
Might need to put bigger rears on it...
Maybe the duals, from the bus...
Nice ride. I heard you say the brake assembly is 40 Ford but just how did you modify them to marry up with the 29 spindles ? Thanks, make good video just showing how it was done. Oh my pick up is a 1930 ford
Nice ride Renato! I like street rods in many forms from full resto, custom paint schemes to rat rod. You have the exact name of an old friend of mine from grammar school & a little resemblance. Did you live in Hacienda Heights Ca in the '80s for a while? Have an older brother naned
