Sonali Kulkarni as usual leads an amazing character, and a perfect ambiance! Every emotion was keenly adhered to while depicting the entire cast. Moral and humanity are prioritized over superstitious beliefs. The takeaway is to respect humanity, care for others emotions,& be courageous enough to accept any situation that comes in our lives. Yet never to forget our traditions which bring up social bondings, love & care.

    सोनाली कुलकर्णी हांच्या नुसत्या अभिनयातून पूर्ण स्टोरी अगदी सुबक रेखली गेलीय. तसेच उत्तम चित्रिकरण ही केलेलं साफ दिसून येतंय.

What an amazing film! For those who are focussing on the superstitious aspect, I think the film is not really promoting that bit here but conveying a lot of good and morals that are needed in todays world. A lot of the audience have said the right things here and I feel this culture and festivity of the Haldi-Kumkum is mainly to build a social bond among the women in the localities, I remember when I was young, the hindu women came to our place to invite my mom who's a Christian (and they did so until my father passed away a few years ago) I feel the story of this film is simply outstanding! It does not tell you that the main character's husband died just because the gains were denied to her, neither does she blame anyone for the loss of her husband which is just right... all the cast have been amazing! Loved it!!!

When Kulkarni bai got to know that Naik kaku has come to give invitation for haldi kunku. She thought that Naik kaku will blame herself and her daughter in law for death of mr Kulkarni and will feel terribly bad for that. When I started watching this film I suddenly remembered I watched it before but such mesmerizing experience. How much a woman enjoys rather prides her marital status. I have read G.A.s books many years before when I was just hungry for good books even that time I found them quite beyond me. Very beautiful film.

Traditions are taken over by younger generations (from mother-in-law to daughter-in-law). But the attached rooted meaning is slowly diminishing, leaving only the outer bark to show off (giving importance to financial status, reflected by some jewelry). Yet, Sonali was determined to pass on something more to her son, essential life lessons.

Only G A is capable of so much emotional turmoil and drama in so little words. The film maker and entire team have perfectly held G A's approach. Lalan Sarang remains all time favorite for all the right reason. The expressions she showed when offered panha by little boy justifies her casting by film maker. And what can be said about Sonali. She is awesome as ever. She is a boon to Indian field of art. Lots of good wishes to the team.

Haldi kunku might be a superstition to many but if you see it from a different and broader viewpoint it brings people together and I think what a great vision our ancestors must have had as these things are needed and very relevant in today's times where we don't have time to even say hi hello to our neighbours. Such occasions bring people together and help them socialize with each other is what I take from this movie

Simply Awesome story telling and picturisation! Didn't know about the tradition (so much I don't know about my own country) Geeta Chhabria's explanation was very helpful. I watched the film twice. I was very moved with the story where the concern of the protagonist is more about the link between her husband's demise with her mistreatment at the Naik's, where she displays practicality and is sad for the Naik's senior lady.
I think I jumbled up my thoughts - but really a lesson to take away here. Otherwise the entire production is just flawless!
