(Not being a smartass) Mind if I share why the fish drop on barbless in these scenarios? - Try not striking, when the fish hits try this, point the rod at the fish and reel in till you feel the fish run, then lift the rod and fight. Pump and reel under more tension than normal with shorter pumps. The fish in the Maldives are like this.
Of course I'm happy to hear any feedback. We're all still learning at the end of the day no matter how much we fish. I will take that onboard next time thank you 🙏🏻. I never normally run barbless trebels, so was new to it. I generally run single hooks but was told it's better to use trebles for the GT

I would've definitely tried minnow style lures like Rapala maxrap 17 and Duo Tide Minnow Slim..but man NZ looks pretty!
