  • When you're considering buying an e-bike, it can be pretty overwhelming, especially if it's your first e-bike.
    So this video is going to take all of the stress out of the decision making process and hopefully make it a fun experience for you.
    We'll be able to narrow it down pretty quickly, depending on what you want to use your e-bike for and how big your budget is.

    Great video I’m just thinking if getting my first e bike is am in Victoria. I saw some cheap ones at anaconda i just want one for riding around town and maybe when we go camping to get around instead of driving. Would anaconda ones be ok

    • @courierquest
      @courierquest  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hey Loretta, thank you! Just had a look at Anaconda, if it's the $799 one that's very cheap indeed. Motor, battery, gears sound pretty good for the price. The display is basic but that's ok. Looks like it might have cheap v-brakes instead of disk brakes so maybe give them a close inspection, not necessarily a problem. I'm hesitant to give an opinion on something without seeing it but I doubt you'll find much better for that price. Just make sure their warranty is good :)

    Thank you so so much for this. I was looking for a suitable E-bike to commute to and from work - I have a couple of steep hills otherwise it's short distance.
    Any tips with regards to salary sacrificing bikes?? xx

    • @courierquest
      @courierquest  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Cool, sounds like you won’t need to spend too much on a huge battery then! I actually don’t know much about salary sacrificing for bikes, is that a thing in Aus?

    *** my golden rule for buying a bike for it’s DISTANCE is to look at what the manufacturer say then half it. My bike has an advertised range of 110km maximum. Half is 55km. That is pretty much what i get out of a battery. I have never gone further than 60km. THEREFORE is you are happy with half of the advertised range then sure, this is the bike for you ;) ***

    • @courierquest
      @courierquest  Před 2 měsíci

      Haha that’s actually a very good rule, I like that!

      @@courierquest I asked everyone in the e-bike group for my bike and we are all getting about 60km. I’m about to ask them to all add their mileage to the chat so I can add it to a spreadsheet to work out the average regardless of riding styles. The more people that add their data the more accurate it will become. People say “you can’t tell because it depends on rider’s weight, riding style, how the bike is charged. Long term data will only get better over time and gets more accurate as the data increases.

    Thanks for all this info. My concern is the bike's weight, as I'm no longer young and sometimes need to manoeuvre into tight spots or up steps. Are they all weighty due to the required systems?

    • @courierquest
      @courierquest  Před 28 dny

      You can definitely get a light-ish ebike, especially if you don’t need a huge battery. It sounds like weight will be one of your key factors when looking at options. A lot of e-bikes also have a button on the controller which powers the bike at about 3 k/ph which can help pushing up slopes etc

    Hello @courierques, Thank you very much for the information you provided. I'm interested in finding an electric bike in Sydney that is both legally compliant and offers good value for money, equipped with new technology. I plan to use it for food delivery and city commuting. Could you recommend any brands and models that deliver good performance for a budget of up to $1500? I would also be open to considering a slightly more expensive option if you think it's worth it. I'd like to benefit from your expertise on this matter, especially for a bike suitable for these specific uses. Thank you for your attention!

    • @courierquest
      @courierquest  Před 5 měsíci

      Hey mate, I wouldn’t like to recommend brands and models as I’ve not actually tried that many. However if you want to do food delivery for longer than 3 hours then battery is everything! $1500 should be enough but it might not look the greatest. You’re probably looking for an ebike with a big box-looking battery rather than a mountain bike style one. In Sydney you can get a 500w motor and most controllers let you adjust the speed limit with a little research 🧐

    What do you think about the brand Leitner? Good quality? Battery?

    • @courierquest
      @courierquest  Před 5 měsíci +2

      So I’ve never ridden one but when I was looking for brands to try they were definitely on the list. They look very legitimate and good value for the price. Also, I’ve seen a few comments from Leitner owners on this channel highly recommending them

    • @Robyn19fnq
      @Robyn19fnq Před 28 dny +1

      Hi, I'm looking for a new ebike, as my Leitner has finally died. I've spent over $700 recently on repairs, but I'm told the motor needs replacing now. The bike is 5 years old, and I can't find anyone locally that will work on it. Just my personal advice, but if you're not handy yourself then you will need to find a service centre. Also, when the "e" part of the bike dies, it's almost impossible to ride due to the hefty weight.
