I really hope SOMEONE in these companies watch your videos (hasbro definitely doesn’t). You are for sure more harsh than most of the reviewers but that’s why you are my favourite. If we (consumers) don’t be demanding and critic about these products then we are doomed for crap “so called” collectibles. And I think generally Select has been improving a lot lately. Love your videos, keep up the excellent work. Love from Turkey ❤
Thanks a lot
"I will show you my package-"
Anthony! Atleast take me out first!
It's a very very big package LOL
I am a sucker for transparent and/or translucent action figures - they look absolutely brilliant, and quite wicked. Yes indeed, Marvel Select is doing a wonderfully cracking job with their latest batch of figures.
Thank you for sharing, Anthony. 👍
Giovanni Marino, M.D.🇬🇧🇮🇹
Marvel Select is killing it! I just completed the Fantastic Four and I gotta say I prefer the look of these on the shelf over Marvel Legends, I do think we need an updated Thing figure though, I think they could really knock that out of the park second go around, but every release has been top tier for the past year!
Yeah, that Select Thing figure is almost 20 years old. It looks BAD.
Its depressing how much of a chokehold 6 inch scale has on collecting, it lets Hasbro just put out cheap garbage after garbage meanwhile stuff like this just has such limited appeal despite being superior in every other aspect. Just the silhouette of the sculpt is more comicbook superhero than anything i can think of Hasbro putting out
Nightcrawler and Shadowcat are my top X-Men.
Kitty is one of my favorites too
Night crawler, magik, psylocke
That's kind of my issue with 7in scale figures because of the body proportions on some figures being stretched out to justify the scale. Iceman looks great but his legs and thighs are too long compared to the rest of his body imo.
I see the same thing with McFarlane which turn me off because the figures always looked stretched out with either long legs and torso
I'd say NECA imo does a great job with their 7in scale and none of the proportions on all of the figures I have of theirs look bad
My favorite X-Men is Cable. I loved him in the cartoon when I was little but he became my favorite when I got older playing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 at the arcade.
Thanks for your efforts on this review Anthony. I've waited for this one. Like you, I am a big Ice-Man fan. Marvel Select's use of translucent and near transparent plastic is magnificent. Ice-Man truly looks great on the shelf. As the character has been known to grow in size when iced up, I fudged my display mixing Legends with Selects. For the past two years Select has been delivering Marvel characters with the quality in design I look for. Favorite X-Men; any of the original 5. Your favorite X-villains are the same as mine - Omega Red, Sabretooth and Mr. Sinister.
Nice pics. Thanks for being a member.
@@AnthonysCustoms No problem. Just don't know why I didn't do it sooner. Mini-diatribe in coming: In 2024 it is becoming more difficult for a collector watching YT to access reviews on action figures that are based on the technology of the product. Objective yet with a much needed subjective perspective is much sought after. Your efforts towards these ideals are rare and distinguished. Thanks.
@@JayWoods483 Same ! That is why I love when people show Marvel legends with Selects so I can gauge better. I have the Select Juggernaut and Iceman and they fit right in. I think I'm going to get the Sabertooth and Colossus from selects and mix them in as I think the scale truly matches the characters.
@@theegreendragon Glad to hear I am not the only one who does. Comics require imagination. Action figure displays based on comic characters require imagination also. My Juggys is standing behind a Mezco Magneto who is flying above a Legends Doom. All different scales but my imagination is alright with that.
As a custom I might use a light blue synthetic dye on this figure and the ice accessories and then add heavy white dry brushing so that the color is consistent and theres no yellowing. Also I just like the less clear and slightly darker blue.
He's so accurate! I do see yellow ice sometimes during the winter months, but a lot of people walk their dogs past my house, which might have something to do with it. Ahh I like Mystique and Dazzler. Used to be Wolverine and Jubes, but I don't like them in X-Men97.
As a kid I always liked Iceman's power set. He could be creative and make slides shields etc. I remember Bobby hving a thing for Jean Grey, and then having a flimg with Oblivion's (cosmic entity) daughter. I can't remember her name.
When Beast became blue and furry and joined the Avengers I gravitated towards him. Nightcrawler was alys fun too. Villains wise: Apocalypse, Mr Sinister, Sabretooth and Omega Red. For sheer power Juggernaut is the man.
The sculpt on this looks good but they muffed the articulation and the yellowy plastic is a negative. The Silver Centuriln Iron Man looks so much better.
The Marvel select brand is pretty awesome. Still have one of the old She-Hulk figures that comes with a crushed truck she can hold which looks neat. Favorite X-Men characters are Mystique, Cyclops, Wolverine, Rouge and Domino
It's funny how companies like Hasbro and Diamond Select haven't released a better looking Iceman in all these years and then there's McFarlane making frosbite versions of any character he wants for absolutely no damn reason at all and those look cooler (pun intended) than the actual Iceman figures we have gotten.
Like, I can't believe we live in a world where there's an ice Batman toy that actually looks like it's made of ice but the actual man made of ice just looks like it's made of clear plastic, lol.
Nightcrawler is definitely my favorite X-Men. The guy is the nicest person on the team, and the character who has the most concern about what happens to the X-Family. I also like how he has faith in people, even though he’s been demonized his entire life.
Great review as always. Could u imagine if haslow gave an iceman this much attention to detail with accessories? Crazy.
My favorite original iceman head sculpt. I wish this figure was Marvel Legends scale. The accessories are amazing as well.
He actually looks like ice, that right there… 👏 👏 👏
QotD: Nightcrawler. Love that guy.
Anyway yeah, this was my first Select, having decided to pick him up after how awful every Iceman figure by Hasbro has been. And sure, he's got issues, but by sheer comparison? Way above the competition. I have him next to the ML Spidey and Firestar, with me justifying it by thinking that Iceman used his powers to make his outer shell bigger, or something.
Lol nice
My fav X-Man’s also Gambit! The movies did him so dirty, but X-Men ‘97 did him justice!
Spoiler:
“Remember It” hit me right in the feels Fr. Hopefully he comes back as one of Apocalypse’s Horsemen
He looks solid, that is, in a state of water, with a normal liquid substance that freezes to the solid state at temperatures of 0 °C (32 °F). In laymen’s terms or other words, he looks like (plastic) ICE!!! 😆😅
Iceman walks into the school... Storm, "Bobby, don't you have the decency to clean yourself up!" Iceman, looking down at his yellowing hands and feet "What? Aww sheit, my bad" Storm walks away shaking her head, "you're almost as bad as R Kelly!"
Gambit is definitely my favorite X-Men character with Magneto being a close second
Gotta say this iceman looks really great.
Storm
Dark Phoenix
You´re choices for favorite X-Men are basically the same as me.
Good guys: Gambit...and maybe Nightcrawler
Bad guys: Omega Red (scared me in the cartoon), Sabretooth (cool) and Mr. Sinister (love how he looks and portrays).
Nightcrawlers my favorite Xmen character
as a blind collector, Ice Man never really did much for me because well, it's just basically a smooth human shape with a bald head for the most part, I do love the age of Apocalypse version, though, that to me has much more interesting in design. My favorite, super villains, basically match up to yours, sabertooth, omega, red, and maybe magneto before Mr. sinister. as far as heroes go, probably rogue, storm, and wolverine. Sorry about the weird punctuations and some typos, using dictation and it's a bit of a pain in the butt r.
For the price its worth it for the ice sled . Im tempted but i still like my toybiz one with the ice armor and weapons .
Archangel is absolutely my most anticipated figure of the year.
I wonder if UV light will fix the yellowing?
The diffrent heads and belpts are nice display options.
If I was like getting starting into collecting 90s X-Men I would go all out with Marvel select but I got almost all the characters from Marvel legends.
Man this figure looks awesome and yeah I concur with the translucent plastic should be patient with the wash that he has on the hair
I got this figure last week and he is the best Iceman to date despite the poor articulation. I have him on his Ice slide in my AoA display and he works when you hunch him a little and put him at an angle or have him in the vicinity of a flying character.
Favorite X-men: in some stories Cyclops actually, then Wolverine and Nightcrawler
Villain ill have to go with apocalypse, sabretooth
Question of the day : are we allowed to pick 3 like you ? Then for the good guys : Storm, Nightcrawler, Rogue (or Beast, but the 90s Beast, still blue and with fur but before he looked like a giant cat)
Villains : Mystique, Mr. Sinister, Sabretooth
For the figure : he is okay. Not the best Select. Not a fan of the white parts and like you said, it will become yellow. But yeah, better than a lot of Marvel legends. Unfortunately all my Marvel figures are from the Legends series, so a different scale. I can't collect Select figures (except for some of them like Apocalypse because he can be drawn really tall sometimes and he actually was giant in some comics in the 90s)
I still hope we could have some acceptable Marvel legends. Do you plan to review the new retro She Hulk one ? She seems ok from pictures. Not sure about articulations though.
That ice stand also works really well for storm collectables sub zero ;)
I like Cyclops, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Beast, Iceman, Colossus, Magneto, Pyro and Avalanche
Nightcrawler, Gambit, Iceman, Colossus & Beast
Hasbro or Mafex have the opportunity to make the definitive Iceman we’ve been wanting those double heads are a must
Question for you as an artist of Spawn Forums. What is the best way to portrait ice in a figure?, and who you think is the best figure with this style?
QotD: ooof…. Mr. Sinister is my favorite villain. Hero…. Fluctuates between Bishop, Cable and Beast.
Nightcrawler, Magneto, & I guess cyclops.
My fav is Omega Red
Angel, Colossus, John Proudstar Thunder bird, Villians Moses Magnum, Magneto, Imperial Guard
Nice! Please make reviews of all marvel selects (old and new).
I predict Marvel Select will overtake Hasbro if both companies keep up their current trends. We've seen a wonderful Cap & Centurion - so we know what Select is capable of... Hasbro keeps yanking up prices, and making cheap reuse crap.
Wish it scaled with Marvel Legends. They have enough good Select now might just collect them and just display them together. FF4 figures minus Thing looking really good
Have you heard anything about third party companies making blizzard characters figures like Hero Toys or Star Studio? I think HT Illidan and Diablo, and SS Garrosh/Grommash are amazing, would be awesome if you could get them to review. Also there was a great Titan Toys Lich King figure announced recently.
I'm fairly familiar. Might be able to get something from Hero
@@AnthonysCustoms Nice, will be looking forward to
I wish neca had the rights to do marvel figures man. Imagine a 7inch neca Gambit
Favorite X-Men
Gambit
Rogue
Jubilee
As for villains
Mystique
Apocalypse
Quick Silver
I'm also a huge Morlocks fan.
A very fair and honest review. 👍🏻
Classic Juggernaut absolute favorite X-Men character followed by Gladiator then Colossus…. and Blob…. Gah who am I kidding the X-men universe in general is my favorite lol
Favorites are Psylocke (Elisabeth Braddock), Dazzler, and Emma Frost.
How much for the custom Figma Deadpool?
Favorite X Men villains are Sentinels, Stryfe, Juggernaut, Magneto, and Apocalypse.
Favorite X Men super heroes are Wolverine, Gambit, Archangel, and Rogue.
Favorites overall are probably Stryfe and Juggernaut.
Gambit for me! Numero uno! Nice review as usual.
Favorite X-Men heroes: Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Storm
Favorite X-Men villains: Apocalypse, Magneto, and Mystique
Should've had double jointed elbows and knees
Psylocke (Betsy) and Storm my favorite
Omega Red was alway's my favorite
1. Cyclops
2. Nightcrawler
3. Storm
4. Prof X if he counts
5. Cable
My top villains are the same as you and heroes are the same except sub Beast for Wolverine.
It's amazing how *bad* Select is at their stock photography. You'd never know their figures had accessories based on their store photos.
Either gambit or night crawler
Remember Last Stand
Sorry if it is a repeat comment, but if you get a chance, you should review the recent Marvel Select Blade figure
I have it. Will review soon
I don't like how the plastic look on the forearms and lower legs but it still a solid figure for the price
Wolverine, Gladiator, Colossus/Cable.
Magneto, Sabretooth, Mr Sinister.
Wolverine, Magneto, Cable and Omega Red for me.
sup anthony i remember watching u as a kid im 20 now i was watching u around 2014 but keep it up man
Thanks for the extended viewership
@@AnthonysCustoms ofc man ofc
I need select or mafex to give me a comic accurate heroes reborn fantastic four set based of Jim Lee artwork
Gambit
Magik and Spiral for me
Cyclops then Gambit for the good guys. Omega Red for the villains.
Ice beam! Ice beam! Ice beam! Artic Attack!
Marvel vs Capcom 😂
Cyclops and Wolverine
Something about the select figures looks extremely cheap. I love iceman but there is no figure that does him justice. I’d prefer to see an iceman with his 90’s Jim Lee costume and icy hands and face to show ice form. I hope Mafex does this figure
I love this figure but it’s not perfect. It’s a damn shame we’ve never gotten a great Iceman figure aside from maybe the AoA with DIY dry brushing.
good review bro
question of the day ;
Colossus hands down, then, Cyclops or Nightcrawler?
I have Colossus and wanted the wheelchair,
so got prof X and Magneto movie version on clearance
euh, it s a blast to have the actors s likeness, D
and they fit lots of bodies
I think 7' is too big, 6's are big enough, I have dios
no way I m getting in 7's...
Ice man is not bad, but I ve seen DC frozen figs that look way better, and this head is not the 'amazing friends' version
the one I watched and maybe get the fig for
ok, it has one, but it s not exactly it either
ahh, you re right, there should be no clear parts, lighter blue perhaps, add paint frost like DC
the blasts are very cool, but add blue!
the stand just taunts you to do bigger, better! ha, ha, KHHHAAAAAAN!!!
easy pass, and silver surfer, a similar fig, is coming
I m sure he will be better refined.
so now you know...
good show bro
anymore room updates?
just wondering
Soon
Ice
this toys are for kids . This iceman is a 9/10 , minus - 1 for bad articulation . Mine didn’t come yellowish . Best ice man in the market .
Can you review Marvel select abomination
I will if there is a re-issue
Colossus
Marvel Legends needs to make a good deluxe Iceman with ice accessories including an ice stand
question are you gonna review the new cell saga gohan
Yes
2:08 I would imagine iceman being much smaller than Batman
Juggernaut and Colossus
Another thing....Should've kept him all darker blue instead of two toned.
You can't have everything in life right? Select figures have decent sculpts, good paint apps, a good selection of accessories and are decently priced. But they have a god awful articulation scheme and they insist for some reason of not updating it..WHY?
Magneto numba 1☝️
Sentinels 2nd
Gambit 3rd
Yes im'ma sicko 👏
Omega Red is my favorite👍 Don't like those single joints🤨
Best X-men would be Gambit or Cable, best villain, omega red, sinsiter, apocalypse and when magento is being a dick he pulls it off prety damn well haha
A 6? Man, I feel like you're being extra harsh on these review samples, lol.
Review the figma guyver
You'll have to send it. I'm not planning to buy it any time soon. Sorry
@@AnthonysCustoms oh I thought you can get it for free because you’re the best reviewer
@@AnthonysCustoms Guyver wont be as good as your figure line, no gaé sh!t/d!ck riding. I stopped collecting lines years ago but when you’re ready or need funding tell us fans
Girlfriend walked past at @ 0:56 while i was watching -and paused....
Is it a cool figure?! 😏🫢
Not a fan of the transparent plastic for Iceman, but he's OK
Yeah, yellowing is a huge turnoff for me,
