I'm 67. I grew up in the hood. All of the kids I went to highschool with had a mother and father in the home. I used to fall asleep watching TV with my front door unlocked. Fast forward 20 years and I had to move because my house is being burglarized when I go to work. Every girl I meet already has a kid or two. People are carrying guns to the club looking for a fight. When I got out of highschool in 1974 gun violence wasn't a problem.

Wages have trailed production since the mid-70s and the beneficiaries of the production have been reticent to extend the remunerations to the working class. I make almost 60k/yr and there is no way in HELL I would try to support a family of four on such a salary. My wife would have to work or things wouldn't be pleasant. Men in their 20s typically don't make a lot of money. Harrison Butker is the exception. Not the rule.

I told my stepdaughter to make sure she had the ability to not have to rely on a man and marriage as a vessel for the "happily ever after". For many women, it won't end up being that long.

First there's free speech. Next he was at a private religious college per invitation to speak. Nothing he said was a threat. I'm a Baptist. I was a single mother that had to work. I couldn't keep my husband from becoming unbearable to live with. Believe me I tried. I don't see anything wrong with what he said. The irony is that when the protesters on college campuses make threats to the Jewish people and America, how many people have told them that what they're saying is wrong? BTW my mother mother moved in with me and helped me raise my two now adult children. My mom was a praying mom. My children were raised in church. Thank God we lived in rural America. I know Joy Reid doesn't like white rural Americans. She should try it. There's also black rural Americans. I know some.

It had no place in his address and it cheapened the achievement of the women who were in attendance. If getting a degree isn't about setting yourself up for financial success...even modest success, then what the hell was all the time and money spent for exactly? To line the pockets of the university? Makes no sense. Women are certainly allowed to reject college, get married early and be a homemaker. They are also certainly allowed to choose a career and put off marriage and family (which I encouraged with my stepdaughter).
The problem is more family planning than anything. People having families before they are financially ready to have them. Where is it written that you have to get married at 20, have two or three kids by 24 and then hope your marriage doesn't crash before you are thirty? Happily ever after is a pretty long time...something most marriages won't get to see. And a woman who ends up belly-up better hope she didn't sign a pre-nup...better hope she has options for a decent job in the aftermath.

People don't have to agree with what he says but to call for him being fired from football shows how sick some people are as they only believe in having everyone agree with them and only have their opinions. Mary is not worshipped but rather honored by Catholics. Due to the Council of Ephesus (AD 431), Mary is the "Mother of God" and should be honored accordingly. That is the doctrine of the Church.

He said nothing wrong. He is a devout Catholic who spoke at a Catholic University. He didn't tell women not to work outside of the home. He just raised back to dignity the titles of wife and mother, also husband and father. Yes, when all is said and done for most people no matter what titles or awards we get those will be the ones we cherish the most. I would also add the titles of grandma and grandpa. He is also not ashamed of his faith and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Not to mention he has freedom of religion and speech. The woke and cancel groups are destroying our country and by the new democratic party are right there with them. This country is fast following the ways of Nazi Germany, Russia, China etc. Till it will be too late.

I just watched on CZcams an interview five years ago with Butker on EWTN. The interviewer asked him was he praying about winning the Super Bowl. Butker said no. He said he was praying for his wife and child and that he would be the best husband and father. This guy is a saint.
He should be that and leave everyone else the hell alone, including bishops, other women, the "degenerates" as he calls them, and the beneficiaries of equality and inclusion. Live and let live. Let your "personal" relationship with Christ be sufficient to be happy. But that doesn't seem to be what he's about.

Prayer means petition. Now Protestants think prayer is worship. It’s not. It’s petitioning another. Pray tell me is a phrase that was once used. Ever asked another to ‘pray for you’? Better never ask again or you’d be a hypocrite for saying what you just said. We ask His mother, whom He created perfect for Himself, to ask her son for help. Remember the queen mother of Solomon? He put a chair to his right hand and said ask anything of me and it’ll be done. Remember Christ saying something breathing than Solomon is here? That includes His mother who loves Christ more than we ever could and if we think we love Him more than talk about some serious pride and delusion.
It’s common sense we don’t worship the Blessed Mother. Go to the sources as Jason said and see for yourself as you’ll never see that in 2000 yrs of catholic teaching. You’ll only see it from the haters of the past century or two as Protestantism is a perversion of truth

We do not worship Mary…we pray to her, and we request that she prays for us. Nor do we worship saints. Yes, we consider Mary very important as she was chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus Christ. If you listen to the Hail Mary prayer, you will see that we seek her prayers…The prayer ends with “… and pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.” I implore you to seek answers to your misconceptions from a priest or practicing Catholics. Everything that we practice is derived from the Bible. We seek the union of all Christians…We all worship the same God. God bless you.

Shame on you, Jason, you need to do your research! As so many have stated in these comments, Catholics do NOT worship Mary, the Mother of Jesus. In His first miracle at the wedding of Cana, Mary says about Jesus," Do whatever HE tells you." She does not say: Do what I say! The only way to God is through Jesus, and Mary leads us to Jesus.
Explains the absent father issue and says be unapologetic in your masculinity - do what glorifies God - all good points. Amen. Good on you Harrison Butker!

Jason love your show and especially today's episode was right on target on how we as men should seek, follow and obey GOD. I do although have to correct you on one issue which I don't know was intentional or not but your comment on the blessed Mother of Jesus could of and should of been left out, it had no basis on your show today and it is a false statement purely false I am saying this from the kindness of my heart did our Lord adore and love his mother yes he did and so should we, as Catholics we show reverence not only to Jesus mother but to other saints. Again I understand this was not the point of your show but I have to make the point that you should do more research on the subject before making such a bold statement. If you would ever like to discuss this as a show topic I would recommend you bring in Dr. Taylor Marshall who has the theological background to discuss these type of subjects.
