- Our sincere thanks for all our viewers and subscribers to Gardening With Leon. There seems to be nothing more satisfying than to see the end result of a person's efforts in a product he has created. Of course, God's hand is in everything and honor needs to be given Him. Always better if it is homegrown. Questions and comments can be texted to Leon at 580-564-5909. Thanks again for watching and happy Gardening.

Thank you Mr Leon, I’ve made your wicking barrels and they’re the Best!!! ❤
Thank you Mr. Leon - Been using your wicking tubs for a couple years now and I can't wait for getting this year's garden started. It's so beneficial to have something that holds the water for my plants in the hot Kansas wind.
Thanks Leon for leading me on a path that works in high desert Arizona. Wicking tubs outperform in ground or regular containers by a lot. It’s the difference between getting a crop and failure
Good morning from here in Alaska. Hope you had a good and blessed Sabbath yesterday. I still have four feet of snow but am dreaming of gardening outside.
Thank you so much for making these videos!! My friends and I love gardening and we love that you are sharing your knowledge with us!
I've been using your advice for three seasons and I have had an excellent result. Thank you for all your help.❤
Mr. Leon, I found your videos last winter. I really didn’t think I could grow anything at all. As it turns out, I have a green thumb….well with your videos 😊. I’m already eating cherry tomatoes. Thank you sir for encouraging and teaching us all.
Thank you, Leon and crew. Love the videos!
I live in Australia in a small town and I have to buy these tubs. This was a great video, Thank you 😊
I think we are up to over 50 containers now. Used 10-4-3 for 3 weeks, and now are on 3rd week of 14-70-48. They are loving their food. You are the best.

Good day Leon and wife🙏🌹
Thank you!!!❤
Good info
Thank you!
Thanks leon...
Thank you
Thanks Lean, and Crew
I hope I get to meet Leon someday
The goat tubs would work if you used the Trucker method and setting another tub on top and use the bottom for the reservoir. Thanks Leon great updates
I used the tubs from Home Depot like you show. The problem was that they are not UV resistant and fell apart pretty rapidly. My neighbor told me spray painting them will prevent the UV rays from damaging the tubs. Haven’t tried it yet, but it makes sense.
If you're in an area with a lot of beef cattle farms you can usually get those mineral tubs about everywhere. All the farmers I know are always throwing them away or burning them with brush piles trying to get rid of them.

Hi there Mr Leon! Thank you for your videos. I’ve been building 5 gallon tubs and have finally got them to wick! Besides the starting fertilizer in the tub and Natures source down the tube at every watering, how often and how do we feed the buckets as they grow?
Thank you Mr. Leon. Could you recommend organic fertilizers that you would use for your tomatoes and peppers and even fruit trees? If Sherri has a paper she can text me on that, it would be wonderful!
Good morning. Thank you for your information. I’m trying to find something that works in Alabama. This might do it. I’ll be asking for your paper on it. Thank you!!
This is so helpful!
One question. I've got some deep (32') raised beds 4'x8' large. Now I'm learning about wicking beds, and am concerned that my beds are too deep for the water to reach the roots if I just have six inches of water in the bottom.
Am I correct to be concerned about this? Should I "raise" the bottom of the beds by putting in a few inches of sand so that I don't have too much water in the reservoir?
Thank you!
Awesome video Mr. Leon. How do u set up 5 gallon buckets for growing
Have you ever used cut up pool noodles in your planters?
Good evening! Love the updated video! Do we not need to put landscape fabric over the milk gallons or pipe? Just close off the pipe ends?
Was wo seeing that also.
It’s best to use a food grade container
I'm trying the wicking tubs this year and wondered how long the pipe should be?? Tubs in advance
The only thing I am wondering about would be this. Would the plastics leach out of the milk jugs, pipe during hot weather and then end up in the fruits, vegetables?
s there a recipe for the master blend fertilizer? I'm not finding the same blend that you mentioned on previous videos. Thank you for all of the instructional videos. I'm so excited to make the wicking tubs, this is my first time doing this!
Mr. leon.. the hole should be 1 inch below the top holes of the jugs or from the lid of the jugs?
Good morning Mr. Leon, could you explain the water wicking ? Don't remember you said that wetting some part of soil first would make it wick up from bottom. I'm planting tomatoes and think I watered after I filled all the way up with potting mix. I am using the 4inch pipe with the sock on it . And I feel like I got too much wetness. .It has a Seep hole 3 inch from bottom and a pipe for filling water which is inside the pipe. I packed the soil in the bottom tight.
How many years can you keep a fruit tree in one of these before you have to up size the container?
Hi and Good morning. I was wondering what brand of sea minerals you use?
Also, Epson Salt plus sea minerals isn't to much salt?
Leon, On some videos you show using landscape fabric before filling tubs and some not using landscape fabric. Does it matter which one you use to setup your tubs? Paul
Can you grow root crops?
Pipe does more than allow yo to put water in. It also lets needed air into the bottom of the tub.
??? There is no water movement to mix air with water. The bottom of the tube just sits there below the water surface. The only thing it "might" do is allow mosquitos in if left uncapped.
@@audig1 I drilled some holes in the tube to ensure that there is air in the chamber.
Problem I have though is the water wants to go stagnant.
I have to tip the container over to drain the bad water then refill with tap water.
Tap water slows down the issue.
For mosquito control if you are worried, place a knee high over the tube inlet.
Lets air in and keeps bugs and debris out.
Do you change potting mix every year?
What is that tarp?
Can you use 1/2 of a 55gi barrel for growing potatoes? If so, how?
I planted a container full of $1 bills. I am feeding it your bloom buster formula and hoping they will all turn into $100 bills by the end of the season!
