I found that if you pause with the steering wheel instead of the phone it will actually keep the music paused. In case you haven't found a work around.

Thanks for this hint which was exactly something I've been looking for a while as I did not want to buy something that may/likely may not work. Having seen the video I ordered one straight away and now it's connected and tested. And yes, it does work perfectly fine. Sound quality is superb. This is far more practical than using iPhone adaptor shown in video (which btw, the Apple adaptor is the only 'cable connection' that works properly, i.e. you can listen the music, not just charging your phone). Moreover, Audi's AMI 'cradle' is unfortunately a bit too small for the current iPhone models which tend to get just bigger in size and, therefore, having a phone connected via the cable requires 'a bit of squeezing' to fiddle in which is annoying. Therefore this Bluetooth adaptor is a fabulous gadget. Thank you very much for this hint.

if you have an aux connector you can buy axt to bluetooth adapter. its cheap just like 18 dollar and it works so good
Got one of these the day I got my car... essential IMO..
Especially if you purposely got a model with the B&O system cause you require perfect sound! (Still requires dynamat and a subwoofer upgrade/retrofitting, to sound PERFECT) .
Also... you need to get a quality BT adapter or do something a little more extreme like some of us.. to get a could BT connection

Hey buddy.. I brought the same thing for mine but I haven't had the chance to put music on my phone as my computer shit itself, but can you use yours for "Hand Free phone calls"? It appears that mine was able to have a phone connected via the input port in the driver's armrest but it may have for been an older generation Nokia phone.. European design for the masses Not.. LOL

Is it possible for you to check whether you can connect the front and rear camera (parking cameras) to a recorder so that you can film while driving. As proof of traffic accidents, to the insurance company in a guilty question.
I don’t have a front camera. Dash cams are so cheap now, I’m not sure it would be worth the hassle of trying to hack into the mmi to integrate a recording device. Interesting thought though!
@@AutoDetourI know already that there are external solutions, but they are still a cheap emergency solution for an expensive cult car that is already is equipped with cameras. The fact that Audi has not taken advantage of the opportunity itself may wonder. But as you mention have spent energy on unimportant activities as ding dong sound like only distraheer driving.

Is there anything next to your CD changer in the glove box like Ryan's S8? If not you might have to purchase a MOST AMI unit. You can find them used on eBay for about $250 USD or find a salvage yard that has a 2007+ Audi A8 and pull one out of it.

I bought something similar a while ago, turns on if plugged into a charger, but doesn't turn on when I plug it in my car.

The USB cable that is in your glove box, follow it to the end and remove it, replace it with the above cable.

Yes. You can control any music that is stored on your phone using the buttons, but you can't control third party apps like Pandora, Spotify, etc. Hope that helps!
You need to pause the music using the stereo or steering wheel controls, not the phone. This could be achieved by pressing the volume barrel, the mute button or pressing volume up and down simultaneously. There are a lot of functions to each stereo but a limited amount of buttons in a car so there is a good chance “pause” is a combination of buttons.

Hi I’ve been having trouble with the music playing in my Audi. I connect to carpro and when I play the music it says it’s playing and connected but I can’t hear it from my car
i’m having the same problem in my car right now as well. it’s possible the new ios updates have outdated the carpro device
Ok, I found the solution myself. There are two cables to connect to AMI - USB cable and 30 pin cable. My S8 is 2008 so it has MMI 2g. Now I have to find the part number of the 30 pin cable. Please help :)

Dinko Popov i feel your pain! Mine came with Denison DW500 with 30 pin connection installed by the previous owner. Crazy thing is it won’t let me play music through the adopter
You can pause the music just press the mute button on the head unit and the phone is paused not mute.
So if you're playing music and you get a phone call does the music keep playing?
That's a good question. I haven't had that happen yet, but I will have to test it out.
