Taven: The only thing that is assured is that you will pay for killing Mother and Father! Daegon: So you know. Yes, I killed them. I had to! Lord Shinnok warned me that they had decided to assist you! Taven: You killed them over the price?!
Jeez Taven, I love you as a good guy, but could it have killed you to walk to the pyramid hella faster then Shao Kahn before he killed Blaze? (Anyone who's played MK 2011 or seen some of it will know what I mean)
He did make it before Shao Kahn, the problem is that Raiden intercepted him, and probably killed him, or stalled him in some way, remember that Raiden became corrupted after Liu Kang's death, and while they fought, Shao Kahn defeated Blaze, thus winning.
Federico Tobaldo I checked the wiki. And it turns out Taven did survive the battle alongside Daegon. So your probably right, Raiden probably stalled Taven and Shao Kahn defeated Blaze (How he escaped Onaga's bite is a mystery to me still)
Laupepa jr he didn't bite him, he just grabbed him and flew away, but still It's Shao Kahn, he could have easily escaped, specially since Onaga was weakened by the kamidogu's destruction, look and you'll see Shujinko there too, that's a proof of it. And In MK9's opening, you can see during Raiden's premonition he is fighting Taven
Yeah, sense doesn't really apply this much on this kind of games. So we can only guess that It was THAT fight, and that Raiden later appeared and knocked him out after beating Daegon, or it was their second encounter, after he beat Daegon... All we know is that Raiden stalled / beat Taven, forcing the ending we got
7. Liu Kang taking down Shang Tsung in his throne room per MK1's finale, not at Goro's Lair or the Warrior Shrine (MK2 intro). 8. Kung Lao, Reptile, and Baraka in the MK1 tournament. And in the MK3 part of MK9's story, Raiden has a vision of the Soulnado in Earthrealm, contradicting that all souls (sans a chosen few, those being Liu Kang and his allies, as well as Stryker, Kabal, and the Lin Kuei characters) absorbed by Shao Kahn as Outworld merged with Earthrealm.
According to the information in the wiki, Taven did fight Blaze, but Blaze killed him, instead of the two brothers, it was Shao Kahn who would beat Blaze in the original timeline.
Bullshit, that wiki was edited in to fit with the sidetracking timeline of MK9 when it was created! They had a deadend and didn't want to fit in Taven's rightful ending! Imagine this for Taven. An entire story about him erased for some rehash of the game in Mk9... for shame.
@13lordaaron The new Mortal Kombat game isn't actually a continuation of Armageddon's storyline at all, it's a straight up reboot of the entire series. You have to watch the ending of it to fully understand what happened.
I think the power Shao kahn has is taven`s excess god power because even can`t hold all of blaze`s power and he is a half god. Also I think taven telepathically allowed raiden the ability to send messages to his past self to prevent Armageddon( remember taven had left after he defeated blaze to find a way to prevent it from happening).
@oldannyboy37 Correction to my old reply, apparently Shao Kahn won after Armageddon and became more powerful than the gods, which prompted Raiden to rewrite history.
Taven's death and Shao Kahn's victory over Blaze meant that Raiden was the only hope for earthrealm and the entire universe. When Shao Kahn was ready to strike the thunder god with his wrath hammer, Raiden had no choice but to create a new timeline, in order to avoid total destruction by SHOW KAHN. That the birth of the new timeline.
@JohnnyDFox If you watch the beginning, you know that it's during armageddon because characters that didn't exist during the MK3 in the game are shown: Zombie liu kang and hotaru for example
3. Liu Kang fighting Shao Kahn in The Rooftop despite Shao Kahn having a palace built after merging Earthrealm with Outworld. 4. Johnny Cage getting killed by Motaro, despite Vogel retconning that into bad writing from Cage's movies prior to Midway going bankrupt. 5. Liu Kang killing Shao Kahn at the finale of MK2, despite not doing so, otherwise it'd contradict MK3. 6. The Tarkatans attacking the Wu Shi Academy instead of the Shaolin Temple per Liu Kang and Baraka's bios in MK2. (continued)
Taven defeated Blaze but at the time the godlike powers tranformed him Shao Kahn made it to the top(somehow he killed Onaga) and killed Taven. That way HE absorbed the powers.
Shao kahn has taven`s excess power and taven had to leave because he is finding a way to prevent armaggeddon.Maybe in a sequel to the original universe Taven will fight kahn.
@darthgundam You know what, you're absolutely right. I watched the intro again and only now noticed that it is the pyramid from Armageddon, which is weird because I've seen the beginning three times before. Although, I did have other people hassling and talking over it each time so they probably distracted me too much. Well, sorry about that. You're right. Now I have to remove the falsities I've spread.
Such an easy game. I remember flying through the game like it was nothing. Hell, I had more trouble with Deception and Shujinko's storyline than with Taven's.
MK9 is a continuation yet at the same time a reboot. The timeline of Armageddon is sketchy at best. Maybe Boon will give a timeline at some point to the old universe.
Well, basically he's neither, but I guess more good. He's a device that unleashes either death or just nullification of power so that the realms wouldn't be destroyed. So he exists for the good of the realms, but he's not good or bad.
Shouldn't he have done so as he gained godlike power, and not that, don't you think MK9/2011 is in a different continuity, here's my evidence: 1. Taven fighting Raiden without the former's armor, despite getting it here. 2. Raiden finding Liu Kang's corpse after Shang Tsung snapped it in the Deadly Alliance intro, despite the fact Kung Lao found Liu Kang's dead body ahead of Raiden, per his Deadly Alliance bio. (continued)
if that was the case then why where both Shao Kahn and Raiden at the to, and I think it dose say in some of the other endings that is you manage to till the victor you gain the power
Taven recites all the evil that Daegon has done, save for creating the worst band of villains Earthrealm has never seen, and all he can say is shame on you? Having said that, I had a few other things in mind that I thought he was going to say.
taven should've said after mentioning daegon's crimes: Taven: I only got one thing left to say.... F*** YOU! daegon: what? taven: F*** YOU! Daegon: come again? taven: I said F*** YOU! daegon: say an appropriate word! profanity is bleeped here. taven: OH BULLSHIT! Daegon & Taven: .... Taven: I thought profanity's bleeped here? Daegon: no, i think the bleeper got tired.
I always wondered if Taven did survive & ascend to the Heavens. Shao Kahn must've somehow escaped Onaga's grip & may or may not have killed him. The God like power gave every kombatant enough power to instantly kill (just a theory) & probably became even more powerful with every opponent each individual kombatant killed. If this be the case, Shao Kahn killed more than Raiden (who yes at the time was a vengeful God & started to hate or just dislike mortals) so Shao Kahn had the advantage over Raiden (as shown in the intro to MK8/MK9/MK 2011, whatever you refer to the newest game as). To anyone who may bitch, yes I consider MK (2011) as Mortal Kombat 8 chronologically but I will acknowledge it as the 9th fighting game installment (not counting upgrades here). From what I learned, Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe is non canon so it doesn't count here. Mortal Kombat Armageddon is Mortal Kombat 7 & Mortal Kombat (2011) follows that game (so to speak if you count the Story Mode intro & then goes back in time) so that is the main reason why I consider it Mortal Kombat 8.
Is it just me, or is the pre-Kombat incarnation of Blaze much less intimidating-looking than the Kombat version? When he's talking to Taven, he seems more like a wise sage than an all-powerful creature, especially given that he's just about Taven's height in that form.
Taven: Obligation?! The quest destroyed my family! Explain to me why I should care!
cracks me up every time for an odd reason
I feel so bad for blaze. He’s a neutral boss but he was literally created just to be killed by the hands of someone else.
Unless you play as him in the arcade ladder and win, in which case he doesn't die.
Taven: The only thing that is assured is that you will pay for killing Mother and Father!
Daegon: So you know. Yes, I killed them. I had to! Lord Shinnok warned me that they had decided to assist you!
Taven: You killed them over the price?!
In order to unlock Taven as a playable character, you have to pass the Konquest story mode in Mortal Kombat Armageddon to unlock him.
I remember seeing this 10 years ago
Fun fact. I think it would have been worse if raiden had won Armaggeddon because in his ending he would have destroyed all the realms.
"A third, unforeseen outcome occurred." So that must be what was meant by Shao Kahn and Raiden still being alive.
Taven's arcade ladder ending suggested that it makes them stronger than before and the quest was a failure. Non canon tho now that mk9 is a thing.
Now Face Me... In C.O.D
Thank you for this walkthrough
Now face me...in Mario kart!
(You have invented a new meme!)
Taven is one of my main guys to use in the game. He's badass for sure.
Daegon... the bastard brother of Kratos...
Jeez Taven, I love you as a good guy, but could it have killed you to walk to the pyramid hella faster then Shao Kahn before he killed Blaze? (Anyone who's played MK 2011 or seen some of it will know what I mean)

And In MK9's opening, you can see during Raiden's premonition he is fighting Taven
Federico Tobaldo I thought that image of Taven vs Raiden was the battle where he knocked him out in conquest mode? But I did get the part with Onaga
Yeah, sense doesn't really apply this much on this kind of games. So we can only guess that It was THAT fight, and that Raiden later appeared and knocked him out after beating Daegon, or it was their second encounter, after he beat Daegon... deep storyline to unlocking taven.

THE TRUE ENDING
In POV blaze or this is the true ending
According to the information in the wiki, Taven did fight Blaze, but Blaze killed him, instead of the two brothers, it was Shao Kahn who would beat Blaze in the original timeline.
Bullshit, that wiki was edited in to fit with the sidetracking timeline of MK9 when it was created! They had a deadend and didn't want to fit in Taven's rightful ending! Imagine this for Taven. An entire story about him erased for some rehash of the game in Mk9... for shame.
I could see that mainly because one brother probably wouldn’t be enough to defeat blaze. It’s kinda sad that it didn’t have a happy ending
Now face me... IN MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!
Yes I think the same - Daegon looks like Ron Perlman.
@13lordaaron
The new Mortal Kombat game isn't actually a continuation of Armageddon's storyline at all, it's a straight up reboot of the entire series. You have to watch the ending of it to fully understand what happened.

nice form at the end... :D
Well it's not the last game in the series and I'm glad for that, seeing that it's one of my favorite series. They said they'll work on MK9 too.
@disturbed2612 I like how Deadly Alliance and MK Deception were linked together
I know, I learned and admitted my mistake more than a year ago.
@oldannyboy37
Correction to my old reply, apparently Shao Kahn won after Armageddon and became more powerful than the gods, which prompted Raiden to rewrite history.
"autosaving to the Ps2"
Taven's death and Shao Kahn's victory over Blaze meant that Raiden was the only hope for earthrealm and the entire universe. That the birth of the new timeline.
To put it simply: the coin landed on its side
I remember when I first got to Blaze in Konquest... It took me nearly a month to kill him...

(continued)
I wonder what the sequel will have as a plot.
Actually it does follow the story from Armageddon's ending.
Very good
i h8t endings like that "but a third unforseen outcome emergerd... the quest did nothing" piss me off
Yes, there's a male armor set. And I did collect most of those, too.
please tell me how to do the "BREAKER"
Taven defeated Blaze but at the time the godlike powers tranformed him Shao Kahn made it to the top(somehow he killed Onaga) and killed Taven. That way HE absorbed the powers.
Blaze killed Taven then Shao Khan killed Blaze.
Taven Vs Daegon. Fight!
I'd like to see Taven and Daegon return for MK 12.
You're Finished!!
Epic
Shao kahn has taven`s excess power and taven had to leave because he is finding a way to prevent armaggeddon.Maybe in a sequel to the original universe Taven will fight kahn.
@james739123 So Kahn killed Taven? But I never saw that in the reboot's story mode opening.
Then you can create a fighter that wears the full Elder God Armor.
I think that too....
@darthgundam
You know what, you're absolutely right.
Oh, i'm sorry then
Well... it does have a final... we all die in the armageddon :)
Such an easy game. I remember flying through the game like it was nothing. Hell, I had more trouble with Deception and Shujinko's storyline than with Taven's.
@Stussmeister he is in the form he was in mk II and mk deception
what's the next walkthrough?
@13lordaaron Raiden casts a spell sending a vision of Armageddon to himself from Mortal Kombat 1
i wonder y they didnt hav the characters that u created hold two swords?
yay
MK9 is a continuation yet at the same time a reboot.
The timeline of Armageddon is sketchy at best. Maybe Boon will give a timeline at some point to the old universe.

i heard that they werent gonna use anyone else but scorpion and sub-zero and make a new cast of ppl
wut happened to quanchi, shao kahn and onaga??
onaga said"to war" but wer r they??
did he something about making reality possible?
how did you get passed konquest
blaze dies exactly how onaga dies in deception.
on the beggin pic the guy on the right looks like kratos
Now face me in tekken!
@JohnnyDFox That sucks. I never got to play this particular game. Darn though.
What do you mean "be the last"?
Taven recites all the evil that Daegon has done, save for creating the worst band of villains Earthrealm has never seen, and all he can say is shame on you? Having said that, I had a few other things in mind that I thought he was going to say.
Now face me...in Guitar Hero
what a dancing end...lol.... if I was granted full godhood i wud do more than just dance
@JohnnyDFox So Kahn defeated Blaze, and earned god-like powers? I thought it was Taven that defeated Blaze.
Im still tring to find the essence of blaze
So who all died? I was gonna just ask about Sub-Zero because he was my favorite but I'm curious if everyone died.
nvm, i figured it out after i watched the entire video lol
I don't know, no one really know
taven has 2 endings 1 on arcade mode on konguest
I seen a video that scorpion killed taven and dagon my bad if I spelled something wrong
@masterofre51 The new story is epic. It kind of makes me think of Dissidia Final Fantasy's story: a never-ending cycle of battle.
no argument here
@JohnnyDFox my guse is shal khan killed taven for the reboot to make sense
Wouldn't Taven have ascended up into the Heavens and became a god while Kahn later on got to the top?
Probably they died from Blaze's explosion. But it's non-canonical
I swear boss battles were much easier back then
Not only that fun too😅
coOl! i have thiso ne 4 wii and blaze is more easy that u can imaginate! ;)
taven should've said after mentioning daegon's crimes:
Taven: I only got one thing left to say....
F*** YOU!
daegon: what?
taven: F*** YOU!
Daegon: come again?
taven: I said F*** YOU!
daegon: say an appropriate word! profanity is bleeped here.
taven: OH BULLSHIT!
Daegon & Taven: ....
Taven: I thought profanity's bleeped here?
Daegon: no, i think the bleeper got tired.
blaze was a little tough for me to defeat
I defeated Blaze the first time. Deagon took me one more try though.
@JohnnyDFox Lucky you, it TOOK me 5 trys.
not if Taven didn't ascend
But the new mortal kombat is a continuation of Armageddon, you have seen the story mode right?
blaze earns you teven
@JohnnyDFox You saw the new Mortal kombat9 game?
@13lordaaron
Tavens ending was'nt really
canon aswell.no ending was suprisingly...
i guess shao kahn ending was...well semi canon only
MORTAL KOMBAT!!!
Is there a male god armor set ?? Cuz what i saw from ur vids,u only got the female armor set :D
WHY if it worked than there wouldnt be any more mk
I always wondered if Taven did survive & ascend to the Heavens.
Shao Kahn must've somehow escaped Onaga's grip & may or may not have killed him.
The God like power gave every kombatant enough power to instantly kill (just a theory) & probably became even more powerful with every opponent each individual kombatant killed.

+Nicksolo85 Taven's ending is non canon
It's been confirmed by jon vogal that Shao kahn was the one who killed blaze
Yeah and Also Shao Kahn Killed Taven
Blaze was the one who killed Taven.
Is it just me, or is the pre-Kombat incarnation of Blaze much less intimidating-looking than the Kombat version? When he's talking to Taven, he seems more like a wise sage than an all-powerful creature, especially given that he's just about Taven's height in that form.
