again, thank you for the effort and sharing. as a LR/PS newbie, it feels like there is so much to learn. frankly, at times it feels overwhelming. with that said, getting the basics done correctly is critical. thumbs up.

If all teachers had your ability to communicate, there would be no fails at schools! Thank you Julieanne, 🌹

Excellent as usual Julieanne! Ive been using LR everyday for the last 10 odd years and I still learnt a few things from you from this simple tut. Like the last tip I never knew but will be sure to use from now on! Keep going forth and bring us all the tuts on LR and PS and latest features as they keep coming out as you do it more efficiently than any of the others IMHO.

I just watched this video and also watched the "Importing Photos from a Hard Drove into LrC." In both of these you didn't elaborate on the "Embedded & Sidecar" option even though it was selected in the Importing Photos from a Camera Card video. Would you elaborate? Pretty please. And I LOVE your videos; you're the best.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will record and post a video on the Embedded Previews, but in the mean time you can watch an older version here (nothing has changed) czcams.com/video/OEVjXQXywM4/video.htmlsi=KVFtNgSGlTOaMmjj

In my teaching and working with clients, the destination panel in the import dialog window causes immense problems. It doesn't behave like a normal finder or explorer window and people are regularly importing into locations that are not correct. I strongly encourage creating the folder structure using the Library Folders panel, then right click on the desired folder and choose "Import to this Folder..." This solves the entire issue of importing to the wrong location. Also using this method you can't import to a drive that is not currently a part of the managed set for LRC. I regularly see people importing to their backup drives rather than their primary image drive using the Destination panel.

I agree Keith - the "import to this folder" is a very great feature - I am planning to cover that later in the series and appreciate that you're sharing your best practices here!
