      Hi Eliza, the best way for you to purchase the Neocare and the utensils needed for feeding neonates would be through one of our USA distributors. Bird Cottage is located in California but may be able to freight the products to you. Their phone number is +661 295 6700. Alternatively we do have some distributors that offer the option of online ordering. There is a list of our online distributors/stockists on our website at www.vetafarm.com.au

    I just recently bought your product to hand rear a newborn cockatiel bird, I've followed the instructions on the packet and on this video to every minor detail and i found that he could not digest it and had a big crop like a balloon. I've had to give him water and let him vomit out his food so his crop would not explode, and also massage his crop to help digest. I've even added more water
    so he can digest more easily but to no avail. he recently died and do you know how?, he died because there was too much Vetafarm formula in him, like i've followed every single tip from vetafarm and yet even after the help of vets he still died.The vets told me nothing was wrong with the bird but the formula and they gave me the passwell formula, but it did not succeed in saving him there was too much yeast built up. When he died it was a horrible sight he vomited out the food trying hard so his crop would not explode but yet he choked on the food and ran out of air, i had to bury him he was my only happiness in life. I don't know what you did with the formula to make this happen, but stop being proud of this product you are not helping, there are at least another case down in the comments of how he got a bad experience with this product and had been given passwell hand rearing formula this is what also happens with me and i had to spend at least $200 at the vets to try save my baby birds and yet he still died. you should stop selling this product and stop acting as if it's the best product in the world. Just stop and make an apology video and tell us what you are doing with the formula until then i won't rest happy!

    • @yvonneost12
      @yvonneost12 Před 9 lety

      princessparrots Just use a syringe drop at a time , hold it's head between 2 fingers ( to save a lot of mess ) he'll soon get the idea , just keep trying it doesn't take long and they soon learn you are feeding them and they will start eating easily.

    Just wanting to know how long does the formula keep once the bag is opened. Ive got mine in a air tight container and still have half a bag of it left. I couldn't see on the bag any info about what expiry it has on it.

    • @vetafarm
      @vetafarm  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Kristie,
      Your bag should easily keep for the full 2 years even if opened, as long as it is stored air-tight (as you have done). The expiry should usually run along the seam of the bag on the right hand side, it will be very small, black, square/block printed style letters.
      We do suggest keeping it in the refrigerator or freezing any unused portion if you are able to, whilst it is not on the bag and isn't "required" it can help to keep the freshness for a little while longer than the expiry.

    what do you do with the excess, is it reusable or should you just toss it?

    • @vetafarm
      @vetafarm  Před 8 lety +3

      We recommend disposing of the excess food. Bacteria can develop quite quickly in food that has been sitting unfortunately, so best to make fresh food each feed.

      Hi Jeremy, thank you for contacting us! Could you please email us at ben@vetafarm.com.au and include in the email the batch number on your bag of product, the expiry date, the size of the bag, and where the product was purchased from?

    • @birdman7039
      @birdman7039 Před 6 lety

      I purchased this product from city farmers at Whitfords city in Hillarys, Perth W.A. on the 16th of November 2017.
      To be honest I am really disappointed in this product and have lost faith in this brand. The Passwell hard rearing formula in my opinion is far more superior then neocare. Passwell has easy to read instructions with a table showing the correct ratios for different ages. I've had no problems on the Passwell but nothing but problems with neocare product.
      I wouldn't recommend neocare to anyone after the experience I've just had with this poor baby love bird :( I've taken him to the vet to empty his crop and to be honest the vet themselves aren't that impressed with this product.
      I hope that this matter can be resolved and that better instructions are placed on the back similar to how passwell displays the ratios for different ages.

      Thank you for your feedback Jeremy, we take all feedback and complaints seriously and have had our Quality Control Chemists test each batch of product that is on the market. Our results are all within specifications for nutrition, vitamins, minerals and fibre. The ingredients that go into our Neo Care are tested in our Quality Control Laboratory and the finished product is also tested. This year there has been a slight change in the look and texture of our Neo Care due to our manufacturing machinery being upgraded. This has caused a slightly more course blend however it still has all the same ingredients that have been tried and tested, and is still within particle size specifications. We have stable and safe product on the market and we are sorry to hear that you are not enjoying the Neocare. If you have the batch number and expiry that is printed on the bag, we can test our retained sample from that particular batch in the laboratory to ensure that your product is safe.

    Hello! My baby love bird is now fully weaned. I have just purchased your egg and biscuit formula as a complete diet. It doesn't actually say on the packet if I need to use cold water to make a crumble? And also how much should I be giving him everyday?

    • @vetafarm
      @vetafarm  Před 8 lety +1

      Hi Jessica, if your Lovebird is fully weaned you can either offer the Superior Egg and Biscuit as a wet or dry formula, if you would like to use a wet mixture to transition him on to dry; we suggest you use warm water and just add as much as you would like to get the consistency you want. If you want to start to transition him to a dry feed then gradually make the crumbles less wet each feed. The wet mix will need to be replaced each day.
      As for how often should you feed. I would recommend offering a wet mix once daily, and provide dry feed ad lib for him, eventually he will eat the dry crumbles when he is hungry.

    Im sorry Doc, but wouldn't such hot water added to the formula, destroy many of the vitamins in it?

    • @vetafarm
      @vetafarm  Před 5 lety

      Hi, thank you for watching our video and commenting! The water drops temperature very quickly when it hits the powder, so the vitamins and probiotics don't come into contact with 100 degree water. Then over a period of a few minutes whilst mixing, the temperature almost halves again. This short period of time, will not affect the composition of the formula or the concentration of the vitamins. :)
